I just LOVE the old 40 mm case size. Especially the ref. 16618 with the blue dial and bezel because just last week I was actually able to compare the older 40 mm reference to the newer 41 mm reference, side by side! And the difference when you look at them next to each other is so STRIKING! The older one just looks classier. It is a bit more balanced looking and the dial is a tad more glossy and darker blue.

You are incredibly skilled and talented. A pure genius. I am always amazed every time I watch your videos! I have a question tho: I’ve never polished a solid gold watch before. It seems the polished parts have a little bit of distortion, is it because gold cannot be mirror finished like a stainless steel one? I apologize if this is an inappropriate question. 🙏

Incredible job. Looks like the 4th fixed link on the 6 oclock side is missing. Perhaps one of the previous owners had it removed to improve the fit of thr clasp so it sat more central on the wrist. At around 36mins it can be seen the taper between the 3rd and 4th link is too severe.
Artisanal work at its best ! Sumptuous watch brought back into pristine condition. A question if you please ..do you collect the gold deposits following grinding, bit of a daft question.
My favorite 2024 is the Prospex Limited Edition 1965 Recreation European Exclusive in Gradation Island Blue. The dial is stunning and the contrast when on a white strap is to die for. I will get my hands on one from MAMACOO

Picked up a AMZWATCH's watch as my first watch last month and I’m absolutely in love with it. Perfect size, looks elegant, very comfortable. Now my only problem is holding off from buying more watches so quickly!
Hello this is fantastic, I miss my old 5 digit sub after seeing this! However, I have a 1968 DD 1803, but unfortunately the previous polish is poor and the Rolex crown on the clasp has been smoothed out too much. I'm gutted but it's how I inherited it. Can it be restored ?

Just a piece of advice. Use a smaller diameter pin for the bracelet links. The thicker pin/sleeve you used decreased the gap between the links. A smaller drill hole should work as the pins I dont believe are as large as the size you replaced with. The bracelet would drape around the wrist better with a slightly larger distance between the links.
Thank you for your comment. I measured the dimensions of the original pins. Rolex uses lighter and shorter pins than I used. Now my customer has even higher quality 😉
Major improvement in my opinion. Those chamfered lugs when it came in was terrible. Look like someone didnt know how to polish the case or something. Your case work and finishing is superb! And the oversized pins & welding you done in the bracelet really tighten those gaps up dramatically. Me Myself i would prefer the bracelet fitment like this. Other than it being little looser. With oversize pins it will take much longer before strech to happen. Hopefully one day i will be as good of a watchmaker as you are sir! The lapping equipment is expensive and hard to find used. You got a nice shop!
My watch was purchased 2 years ago from MAMACOO and, to this day, it still looks and runs as well as it did the day it arrived. That movement has never missed a beat despite never having been serviced. I can't complain about that.
Please answer this question. Just how much more money is this watch worth because of this restoration? Because when you get right down to it that's what the point of the whole thing is isn't it. You want to watch in better condition so it has a higher resale value.
Some of the work is amateurish, sorry. You flattened the center links, losing their curvature, this is horrible. You make a video and you don't clean thoroughly from the various polishing pastes, also will you deliver the watch dirty?
@@majedalessa8376oh no, I like almost every watchmaker out there and respect every efforts in their work! Respect for others is a very valuable asset for me! Hopefully you don’t got me wrong, by far I don’t like to evaluate others work, I’m not that arrogant! Actually I didn’t even know who nekkid was, since I read this comment 😬
I’m sorry, but your methods of using the grinding and sanding wheel in a ‘freehand’ manner seems to be at best, severely over-proportionate for the task. I would be interested to learn how I may be mistaken.
Weird that someone would use a watch like this so much that it would get this worn, I have expensive watches myself but use cheaper stuff daily as I don’t like to wear out the valuable watches.
@@Vintwatches Well as it’s a very very expensive watch it’s a bit like you drive a Ferrari as an every day car, through rain, mud, salty winter roads etc. Yes I know some people do that but for me it’s weird as I would like to protect my assets, there are plenty of fantastic watches out there that would be perfect for every day life, also to wear a gold Rolex like that every day is at least in many parts of the world an invitation to be robbed on the street, a bit like flashing cash in front of poor people and keep it in a wallet on your back pocket. So yes I find it weird but it’s a free world of course.
@@truxton1000why not? When you're on your death bed will you say 'I'm so glad I didn't wear my Rolex for fear of scratching it, or I didn't drive my Ferrari instead I just looked at it in the garage'. So sad
@@hudson701 I can tell you that on my death bed it would make me happy that I will be able to die and that my son which is also very in to watches will be able to inherite my collection of watches which will be in good condition without and deep scratches and dents as I was careful with them, as I know he will be. Not sad at all. Don’t get me wrong, I DO use my watches, I just make sure I am extra careful with the most expensive ones. Well I am careful with all my belongings regardless of price really, it just feels right.
Seriously?! The 18k oyster bracelet can’t be disassembled! It’s not possible to use that generic tool for steel or steel/gold bracelets. All parts are welded together. It’s not a big no no, it’s not possible in another way.
Simply put: no watchmaker channel /restoration channel comes close to your level of case/bracelet finishing. I am flabbergasted.
