Even if you only have two videos, I'm already making this a channel to watch. There's a guy from China on here who does maintenance/repair jobs on watches with the same techniques: no talking, no music, focus on the actual work, with natural sound. Hope you do more in the future.
Nice job, and some of the best photography and editing of any of these watch restorations on here. I haven’t subscribed as I see that it’s four months since you posted this.
Thank you so much for your kind words and encouragement! I truly appreciate your feedback on the photography and editing. I'm currently working on the next two videos, with the first one expected to be released this month. I hope you'll watch them when they're out and reconsider subscribing. Your support means a lot to me. My goal is to eventually release about one video a month but some parts of the process need to be streamlined to reach that.
i have not paid any attention to seiko just collected rolex , tudor, omega. but i have been watching some seiko vids you folks are building some of the best built and looking watches out there. some of these builds are looking better then rolex your detail is second to none
💪💪💪 YES YES YES !!! ... allen Unkenrufen zu Trotz ! Jungs, Marcel eingeschlossen, Ihr ward einfach Spitze . Ein toller Tag, was für ein Fight !!! 💙🤍❤️✌️✌️✌️
Really nice job Congratulations to your first video. I love that you don't talk. Lot of people like to talk. Explain everything. Your video was great. Next time Put a classical music on the background 😊
Thank you! I really like your idea of putting classical music on the background! But I think many viewers want to hear the sounds of the tools and watch parts so my following videos will probably have mostly that.
Thank you so much for the kind words! Your encouragement means a lot, and I'm excited to keep improving. Thanks for taking the time to watch and share your thoughts!
I saw many people commenting as this being your first video!!?? That's crazy, good quality to start. This was just suggested on my feeds but I'm now subscribed! Also, amazing work on that Seiko 5, impressive.
Thank you! I'm really glad to hear you enjoyed the video and liked my work! Thanks for subscribing, I have a couple of projects currently underway and one of those I already started editing. Hoping to release the next videos soon.
I watch many videos of this type, as I mechanical watches admirer and this is one is really amazing: restoration, filming, music at the end! Love it all! Thanks a lot! QQ: is the watch for sale?
Glad I found this channel. Great video. Couple of suggestions: I still have no idea what ASMR means, but rather than subtitles, I'd prefer you talked a bit over including history of watches. I don't get the idea behind watching silent videos. We aren't in 1920s anymore. I see that several parts were replaced and not directly mentioned - maybe it's worth somehow highlighting all the new parts. I personally don't mind new parts on old watch - for me the end result is more important, but some may want to see more original parts as possible to stay on the watch.
Thank you for watching and your kind words! Your suggestions are appreciated. While many enjoy the pure sounds of the parts and tools, I hear you on the value of talking. I might consider adding a bit of intro voiceover in some future videos. The idea of highlighting all the new parts is really nice - it's hard to discern from the video otherwise. Only what was beyond repair, missing, or incorrect was replaced. I'll definitely keep these thoughts in mind for future content. Thanks again for your feedback!
Normally I don't like Seiko watches at all , but what you did to this beat up old watch , I'd buy on a heart beat !! Especially since it's been regulated perfectly by you ! Great work and video !😊
Welcome to TH-cam! Beautiful work, looks better than new. It must be a passion of yours and you have all the right tools so you must be a professional? But is this watch restoration cost effective?
Thank you for the warm welcome! I'm not a professional, just a passionate hobbyist who enjoys bringing watches back to life. You raised a great point about the cost-effectiveness! This particular restoration wasn't financially wise, as the parts alone nearly equaled the price of a well-maintained piece. It was more of an experiment to see what could be done with a watch in such a bad condition. However, I have some upcoming projects like an Omega Seamaster Professional with rusty movement and a completely destroyed Tudor Oysterthin that make more financial sense. I appreciate your thoughtful question and wish you the best with your vintage car projects!
Perfect answer, passion in something you enjoy has it merits. I have become re-interested in mechanical watches recently and have a few vintage as well as new. Best to you!@@ChronoWorkRestorations
You're absolutely right. Mechanical watches are true marvels of engineering, aren't they! Care to share which timepieces you own? All the best to you too and I'll catch you on the next one!
Thank you! I'm glad to hear you liked it. Absolutely, I use Panasonic Lumix S5 camera with vintage Canon FD lenses, mostly 100mm f4 macro lens with or without a FD 50 extension tube.
Always does. However, it's the solitary pleasure of the 'before and after' that is prize for the watch maker. No one ever quite appreciates how much ocd detail goes into the servicing and restoration of a watch. The public generally don't have access to microscopes either, so they have no idea how disgusting their watches are when they bring them in.
True, but maintaining a mechanical watch is more about sentimental value than anything else. Let's face it, a quartz watch is cheaper and works better and with smart phones, you don't even need a watch anymore but you will appreciate a mechanical watch more.
Its more to do with sentiments and experience here then the cost..it aint a apple watch or a galaxy watch....Peace I got an old Richo watch here in Mumbai Thieves market for like 1 dollar and got it restored for about 4-5 dollars....the charm & experience with it is priceless
Thank you for the insight! I got another viewer saying the same about the balance. Didn't realize it while working on the watch but I was curious about the different shock springs.
I think I'm going to hold onto this watch for sentimental value because it was my first TH-cam video. :) But I do have some projects coming up that I could potentially sell.
@@ChronoWorkRestorations Thank you. If you let me know what you have coming I would-be interested. I like to wear tank style watches as well as diving watches. Have a large wrist and big hands so a bigger face watch always fits better. Outdoor more rugged styles in stainless or leather bands. But the large older Seikos and Omega always of interest that have thicker and or unusually shaped housings. 5he Stingrays and such something I like to wear. But any of the larger face Tissot like the Bond version and such also interesting to me to wear. Thanks anytime reach out with something that is to be restored and you might want to sell. Thanks
I used nr 7 winder (left-hand). It's slightly too big though, the winder doesn't actually fit inside the barrel but usually works, I think nr 6 might actually be a better option.
Hello friend might wanna help a buddy out? Im trying to do a crystal replacement on my seiko 5 sports 7S36-00L0 and i found out that the watch crystal was 28mm in diameter but i cant seem to find the thickness can you help me in finding the thickness for my watch model?
Wow, thanks for the insight! I was curious about the different shock springs on the top and bottom. I thought I'd only seen the two prong type on 7S36's and that explains why. Do you happen to know if the spring is the only distinction in these balance assemblies?

loved the silence i like to hearnthe parts clonk into the right places and the screws landing in the pots all very relaxing
Thanks, I'm really glad to hear you enjoyed it!
Personally, I prefer a spoken narrative. But I enjoyed the video, nonetheless. A beautiful restoration.
17:43 when they bring out that old worn wood box you know they mean business.

Awesome work fixing it mechanically but I have to say it looked so much better and more interesting before.
Thanks, appreciate your feedback! I also liked the two tone mod look it had before.
Great job bringing this Seiko back to glory. Cheers

Adonde compras las partes originales de Seiko? Gracias
Hola, muchas gracias! Para este Seiko compré las partes de Cousins UK y Watch Plaza.

Restoration probably cost more than the watch itself.

this was my first watch in blue.
Much better than Seiko factories-the ones in Japan and defiantly better than the chinese.ones.

Varience between positions would have been the real test. Those movements are notoriously bad at that.
