Stunning restoration. I don't get it. How come expensive watches brag about +/- 6 second a day accuracy but with your restorations, on your Timegrapher, you're able to get +/- 1 second a day accuracy.
Great video, thanks! As I could only name about 50% of the parts, could you add the name of each of the parts? I'm sure everyone could learn a lot from it....
I've watched many of Red Dead Restoration's videos, and they're always the same thing. Him taking apart the watch, washing stuff, buffing out stuff, putting it all back together, and then showing the final results, as well as before and after shots. You'd think by now I'd be bored silly. But that's far, far, far from the case. I become more and more mesmerized by his talent and can't wait until he posts a new episode. 😃
This video turned out so much better than I was expecting! The way you included the easter eggs were perfect and a nice nod to the John Wick franchise! On top of all of that you once again blew me away with another fantastic restoration.
But was the watch the last gift from his now departed wife? No, it wasn't. So while I appreciate the adherence to John's crippling obsession with vengeance, it's not the same thing. Also, nothing against CFB's gorgeous pieces, but most people don't heal from loss with a watch.
its easier than you think if you do it often and if you love what you do. the real trick is to work with such small and delicate pieces. thats the more impressive part.
All I know is from watching a bunch of YT watch repair videos.. They kind of start to become logical in what's next but I agree the key works can get really small and fiddly. I've always been good with my hands and mechanically inclined.. some day I'll order that beginner watch repair set and a broken watch and see what I can do :) Love the video's BTW.
It seems to me that your cinematography and your collection of exotic tools is expanding exponentially.....! Thank you for your continuous dedication to perfection....
Thankyou so much RDR for your videos ❤ My life as of late has been rather chaotic, with being diagnosed with some 'mental' illnesses, family troubles etc I just want to deeply thankyou for allowing me to find a escape for it all and finding the calm before future storms. I notice , often, that I don’t notice how beautiful a watch is until this generous, wonderful person, Red Dead, makes me notice how beautiful that watch is…❤
Picked up a MaMaCoo 's watch as my first watch last month and I’m absolutely in love with it. Perfect size, looks elegant, very comfortable. Now my only problem is holding off from buying more watches so quickly!
I've recently began my obsession as a watch collector. And i must say- out of all the luxury brands I've been researching, for me the amzwatch's watches are the most intriguing.
Like so many others ,at first, i thought i wouldn't watch the. Whole video, RED DEAD WRONG, I WAS MESMERIZED till the end , hit like and subscribed, takes your mind off of everything
The fiber that lands across the jewel at 13:49 almost made me cry as I watched it work its way into the movement. I discussed this with Mr. Wick. Baba Yaga wants you to box up your ELMA-RM and ship it to me. You can keep the other tools and we won't speak of this again.
you'll get better amplitude if you didnt stick the dart and horn of the pallet fork onto the rodico. Rodico will leave a film and itll trace onto the small roller jewel. youll see a amplitude loss because of that. Also you may want to dip the pallet stones only into the epilagme and have it run dry THEN apply the 9010 onto the entry pallet stone, and with your tweezers you can run the pallet so the teeth of the escapewheel gets a proper coating, one by one. This is my technique that i personally use.
you can also put a fine amount of oil on the arbor shoulders where it contacts the barrel drum and cover. Instead of putting oil directly onto the jewel on the mainplate for the arbor, you can apply it directly on the arbor itself. that way the polished portion of the arbor doesnt touch the oil you applied to when putting the barrel in.

I just had my Rolex watches serviced and that was what they did. Completely disassembled it, examined each part under a microscope to determine if any part is worn or showed unusual wear and needed replacement, clean every part with ultrasonic wash, dry and reassemble every part, lube each part, case and bracelet got buffed and polished to show room new, glistening and gleaming, then after it is cased, to adjust and regulate the timing back to Rolex specs, then check each position over several days before confirming that it is back to factory fresh condition. Red Dead seems to be handling this just as Rolex would. Got all the specialized machines, skill, and knowledge of a first rate watch technician. Thumbs up!
Love every video you've done. I love the little extras you do, like the nod to back to the future and so on. I do wonder though, how long on average would you say it takes to do these repairs?
Someone have noticed the blood coated pencil? 😂 However fr me this video has been very important, because I own a CFB Manero too, and it’s very rare to find documents and feedback on this maison/watches. When I seen the preview of this video my heart jump a beat. Thank you for your effort Mr Red Dead, see you at Continental hotel.
Great video I am a watch collector of somewhat but that work on this beautiful watch was really a great eye opener on how it goes together not that I’m able to do that but thanx
Fun fact: This same company (an absolutely LEGENDARY watchmaker) released a special Anniversary edition of the Manero. Price by quote only (uh oh 😂). Starting at 225k USD. But I have to tell you: seeing one of their limited run pieces before.. it's not just a watchmaker's prize. It's a marvel in engineering, period.
lmao the only thing that makes you think that is because of the post production and audio visual work. There are many professionnals, who works even better but doesn't try hard like that just to get people validation all day long.
There was a sale on new CFB Manero Auodates in the exact reference as the John Wick watch at Jomashop...i had to get it. The watch is as much a work of art as the movie. It has a place of honor in my watchbox next to my Omegas and Breitling.
Superb video as always! I'm surprised by that awful looking design for the spring that broke. What a tiny and prone to failure looking contact point with the spring to gear tooth spot! I don't care how trendy the thing is, I wouldn't pay 3K for one, lol.

Yeah, I agree. As I observe him taking the watch apart, I'm constantly wondering how he's going to put that tiny gear back in the right spot, or that screw, or that plate, or another one of those tiny gears, or that spring, and so on and so on. I'm utterly baffled how he remembers all of this.
