Just tried this and it turns out good! 😋 Soft and moist banana cake 😃 though i cooked this for only 45 min kasi pag kinomplete ko yung 1hr baking time masusunog na sya. For reference i used gas range. For about 40 mins binake ko sya using bottom heat of the oven then after that i switch the heat to the top para mag brown yung bread then voila! I'm now eating my baked banana cake 😂😂 btw this recipe is a bit sweet kahit nagbawas na ako ng sugar ng about 1/2 cup, pero sakto lang naman. If you want a not so sweet banana cake then reduce the sugar. Thank you @mortar and pastry for this wonderful recipe ❤️

I baked with this recipe, but I changed a couple of things and it turned perfect hahahah.
I wasn't sure abt the size ofmy bananas, so instead of 4 i made them 5.
For the cinnamon, instead of 1/2 tsp i made 1 and 1/2 tbspn.
And last the 1/2 cup of oil, i changed it to 1/4 butter (it was salted) and 1/4 greek youghurt (cuz i saw it another recipe that it helps to make it moist and adds additional flavor)
Then it really came out moist and delicious. I finally found a recipe that i will stick to!

Hello po! The banana bread was amazing! But the first time I sliced into the middle, it was undercooked that I had to return it for an extra 20 mins into the oven. Even then it was too damp/wet. I used one Pyrex 8 1/2 x 4 1/2 x 2 1/2 glass pan, the only one I have. Do you have any advice to solve that? I was thinking of three things:
      1) too many bananas. Pero natatakot akong bawasan baka mag-iba yung lasa hahaha.
      2) too little flour. Again, takot rin ako baguhin w/o your advice.
      3) baka sa pan na ginamit ko, dahil glass, dapat baguhin temp/time?
      4) kung longer time, siguro lagyan ng foil to avoid too much browning or not a good idea?
I hope you're able to answer this. My family loved eating it, but I'm always looking to improve it. Gusto nila ulitin ko po eh, hehe, all thanks to you.

xoloves RINE i think so. I left mine for two cycles. Then left it to steam. I also covered the rice cooker with a clean blanket to make sure no steam will come out and it'll cook to the top. I hope it's clear hehe. Try watching other youtubers who uses the rice cooker. I think it works the same way with other cakes. 😊

Does the bake time and oven temperature po ba affects the moisture of the cake? Thanks and would appreciate your reply 🙂

    • @MortarandPastry
      @MortarandPastry  3 ปีที่แล้ว

Hello! Yes overbaking can make the cake dry and high oven temp can cause batter to overflow and uneven cooking making it raw inside and crusty on the outside. Hope this helps, thanks for sharing your feedback! :)

i tried this recipe and it turned out very well...the sweetness is just right and it is so moist and fluffy, but the top of the cake is a little crispy unlike on this video that is soft...what could be my mistake? i followed the temperature as well i want to have soft top...thank you..

not sure but maybe it's because of the way your oven distributes the heat

Same sakin, crispy outside tapos domed top grabe ung rise. Maybe try mo lower oven temp or shorter baking time (mga minus 15 min ganun)

place your tin sa middle rack if not an option and 2 levels lang oven mo, put it on top tapos leave a cup of water in a tin cup/bowl put it sa bottom
