    I made this recipe yesterday but I omitted the chocolate chips, used 4 medium bananas and only 1/2 cup of white granulated sugar as 1 cup of sugar would’ve made it wayyyyy too sweet. It came out perfectly 👌🏼
    Oh, I’m Jamaican so I added freshly grated nutmeg, cinnamon powder, rose water, almond flavouring and mixed spice powder.

      @flowertina9891 ปีที่แล้ว +8

      OMG that sounds amazing! Also, when I saw that 1 cup of sugar, I immediately thought it's going to be way too sweet for me. I'm going to try it with 1/2 cup.

The amazing thing about this recipe is that it is not too sweet and it is perfect sweetness. Everyone needs to trust the process and the result is a nice moist bread without the need for sour cream or yoghurt. Delicious.

    i just finished baking this 5 minutes ago and I couldnt wait for it to cool down on the cooling rack so i cut a slice anyway, and OMG -- yummy!! i used 3/4cup choc chip and 1/4 cup walnut , so it wont be overly sweet and the nuts will balance it (in my opinion). I tried different recipes many times before - some called for nutmeg, cinnamon etc, some used yoghurt, and the result were not as good. This recipe? A keeper for me!!! Thank you Anna! I really love the way you explain things. I just started baking during the corona pandemic and it helps a lot to have someone explaining the basics so well. Speaking of the basics: I have learned that one should use baking soda with acidic ingredients such as butter milk and lemon juice etc. and baking powder for everything else. You use baking soda in this recipe although I cannot recognize any acidic ingredients or do some of them have that kind of chemistry (e.g. banana?). I tried using half baking soda half baking powder and it turned out just fine as well. Any explanation? Thanks in advance

    • @jabz2472
      @jabz2472 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I think the reason she just mentions baking soda is because ultimately, you get the same result and it simplifies the recipe by cutting out one extra ingredient.
      The less the ingredients, the more interested we "casuals" are.
      However to answer your question, the banana, butter and flour are acidic enough for the baking soda

      I'm looking for the same. I set it at 325 then watched the recipe and she says 350 for 75 minutes! I'm thinking for that long it should be 325. I'll let you know what it does.

    Thank you Anna. I doubled the recipe unless the sugar I used 270g and a fourth of cup water the mixture was really thick maybe the flour and no nuts only dark and milk chocolate and it turned delicious and very sweet.

    Hey there! I made this yesterday and cut the half cup of sugar to 1/4 cup each (brown and white sugar) since 1 cup of sugar is too much and the flavor still turned out great. The sweetnrss was just right. I added a dash of nutmeg and cinnamon and it's perfect! This is the best banana recipe i got so far so thank you for sharing! 💕

    Hi Anna, First of all tons of thanks for teaching this wonderful recipe. I have tried many banana bread recipe but i was not happy with anything. I tried your recipe it came out very well and would say that this is the best banana bread recipe. Tastes so yummy, texture was perfect and it was easy to make it was not complicated process and as you mentioned it was good with melted butter rather using butter. Everyone liked it. Thanks a lot once again.

    Hello Chef Anna how are you. I really like your recipes and specially the way you tell everything makes the recipe more easier for the ones who make even for the first time. I longed for banana bread for a very long time but ended up messing it n then dumping the idea to even try it. I saw ur recipe and attempted . What I did was a little bit twist with ingredients as I wasn't having vanilla essence neither I had chocolate chips, I replaced vanilla with cinemmon powder and chocolate chip with 1/3 cup of coco powder..... and it came out ultimate... love you n bless you.
