    I purchased the VYPER only 2 months ago. It is my first 3D printer. I read and looked at well over 150 reviews and videos. I wanted a good price point, and I wanted Auto-Bed leveling. I got both of those. What I realized very fast, is that there were not many CURA profiles out there for the VYPER, and I would be starting from scratch. That is where Will came to my rescue! seriously, he writes firmware for the VYPER and tweaks it until it’s perfect. He releases new CURA profiles all the time. But most of all, he cares a ton about the 3D community and has responded to all my questions as I have learned this new craft. There is rarely a day (or night ) that goes by that I’m not printing something. Thanks for your support StudioZombie!

      Glad to hear it man. I'm always around and try to respond to messages as fast as I can. I have a v3 firmware on the go right now who new screen ui should be really good one done. Then I can work on the next profile updates for cura, prusa slicer and soon I'll be doing some sls and resin videos and profiles as well.
      Its support from all the great people i have met that makes it all worth wile

    Love your vids and the vyper. Only thing I wish it had is closed and loop motors and linear x/y/z rails. Pairing with octoprint is a must. It's only rated 260 degrees but even holds 300 just fine for carbon fiber. I haven't even found the highest it'll hold yet.

    • @studiozombie3d
      @studiozombie3d  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      The firmware max is set to 275. But with the right heater and hotend you can do well over 300 if you need it. It's a solid unit mine hasn't skipped a best

    Not a bad printer so far for the few days I have been running it with the "default" profile in the latest Cura. The only issue I am having seems to be the Y axis rail is not positioned properly. When using the printer screen to move the print head manually and I move it to (0, 0, X) the nozzle is around -5mm off the bed, and when I try to move it to maximum (250mm?) it is about 5 mm from the edge of the plate.
    I've taken it fully apart to make sure the frame was positioned correctly (appears to be) and my only guess is the Y axis rail is somehow offset by 5mm.
    Once a print starts the initial extrusion line near the origin prints into empty space, but the print itself is fine as long as it was set anywhere not in those few millimeters that are not on the bed.

    • @studiozombie3d
      @studiozombie3d  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      In cura double check teaching settings and make sure the bed is set as 250x255x265

    Should your quality (layer height) and speed change when printing mini's or things with a lot of detail?

    • @studiozombie3d

      For minis I'd try .12 or .1 for layers and slow down to 50mms maybe. I'd maybe even go 45 but use thw max hole size under expermental set it to 5mm and it will slow the printer down on smaller parts

    How does you profile compare to the profiles provided by AnyCubic? I noticed on the SDCard there are 3 profiles included: Anycubic Vyper-PLA-V1.0.2 as well as profiles for ABS and TPU. I have this loaded up and going through your video I notice some small differences, but was curious if you did a comparison as I am unsure how long the profiles have been included with the vyper as I just received it.

    • @studiozombie3d
      @studiozombie3d  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The profiles that ship with the printers are made when the printers are produced and I don't think they get updated. I've honestly only used the stock profile on my vyper when I got it since then I always use my tweaked profiles for all my fdm units, knly changes are Temps, retraction a and speeds

    • @BuddyJesus
      @BuddyJesus ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@studiozombie3d thanks! Yeah, the default load in Cura printing PLA seemed to have bridging issues and small amounts of stringing. I guess one of these weekends I’ll try and dial the printer in although I really only bought it to print cases for micro controllers, but my OCD will bother me until I fix it

    • @studiozombie3d
      @studiozombie3d  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Works on both. For stock be sure to adjust retraction and enable coasting. Thats the only real difference between the firmwares and my profiles. Then as always calibrate flow to your needed settings
