The "Skull Crushing Finale" for a "Professional Wrestling" finishing move actually makes sense. It's got the same idea of taking an unprotected face bump like the "Pedigree", just that it has a longer way down till impact. Jericho was the first person I saw do it. On a side note, The Headshrinkers used to do a double-team variation of this idea and it looked devastating. Look it up.

I don't think the Stinkface is a finisher. I can't remember Rikishi ever winning directly from a Stinkface.
I always considered it a signature move for him but not his finisher.

He locks your arms so you cannot protect your face. Straightens out your back so you cannot bend over instead of falling forward, kicks back one of your legs so you cannot block it with a simple step forward while additionally putting you off balance! It's PERFECT!
Rey Mysterio makes you trip into the ropes and that somehow knocks anyone out for 10 seconds so he can do the 619, but the Skull Crushing Finale is supposed to not make sense?
Fun Fact About the finisher "The Cobra" : Its the most protected move of the list, even more the the studder, the rock bottom, perigee, even the tombstone piledriver. Only one person has ever kicked out of the cobra... and that person was Daniel Bryan (Bryan Danielson) at 2012 Elimination Chamber..

Full Nelson hold to straighten out your back and lock your arms so you cannot protect your face, then he wallops both of your forward while pulling one of your legs away so you cannot use it to stop the fall! The move makes perfect sense!
It makes more sense the F5 which should do as much damage as falling of the ring corner!

I quite like The Skull Crushing Finale.
I don't *love* it, but I like it.
It's super safe, it can be hit on anyone, it never injured anyone taking or delivering it, and yet it is believable as a match-ender, because your arms are held back and you can't protect your head.
It's complicated enough that you don't think: "Why didn't you do that at the start of the match? (Like The Women's Right)" And it's not so complicated that you don't think: "Why didn't you do something simpler?" (As is the case with the Saxtonator.)

The thing is that right when he's SUPPOSED to slam the person's head down, he half-switches to a weird leg sweep, which just makes the move look odd.

yeah, this and the AA hate is the thing i will never understand from older Pro Wrestling fans. like for this list i get that personal grief toward miz and cena are a factor but really? those moves you think are worse than the rear view? or Del Rio's dumb middle rope stomp you counter by just letting go of the ropes? or hell the overdrive?

I always appreciated that the Skull Crushing Finale is the perfect counter to the RKO, and it made perfect sense to win the title with it.
The move generally makes perfect sense.
1. Lock arms behind head so the opponent cannot use them to soften the landing
2. Sweep leg to put the opponent off balance AND prevent them from just stepping forward to block the entire momentum
Sullivan is a contagious type of Jolly. If he doesn't become a mall santa when he's older, it's a huge missed opportunity.

This is the exact reason, it’s not the hold itself, it’s that his muscle were too big. So when he was putting pressure on their neck he was legitimately stopping blood flow to the head. Edge said that the only thing he remembers after that was a ladder going towards his face. He was out of it in that match

It's like saying The Last Ride is just a slightly high drop of person. Plus, a clothesline is used by nearly everyone, yet Okada does that for his finish. It's about what the person does with it.
@@J_Tevo it still isn't impactful at all. When other wrestlers like aj Styles are adding a knee to the back of the head from that position and using it as a regular move. The aa compared to most finishers looks shit and okadas finisher is also not good but at least is sold well
I was shocked that nobody had The Bronco Buster, the Shake Rattle N' Roll, the Heart Punch, or that stupid submission Crush did where he would squeeze his opponent's head on their list

Love this channel so much but the hate for the miz and john cena is crazy. You cannot tell me the miz or john cena's finishers are worse than a theatrical elbow drop because it happened to be from the attitude era
A theatrical elbow drop to the heart by a large man could kill you. John Cena's STF is a garbage ass submission move.
Frankly along with the skull crushing finale, any move which is just grabbing someone’s head and driving it down is on my personal list. Ambrose’s dirty deeds, Bayley’s rose…tip or plant I think they called it, and LA Knight’s BLT. They’re all so same-y. I don’t get how everyone rags on a superkick, but multiple people having slight variations on head driving moves is glossed over. Moxley’s death rider is a much better example, turning a DDT into something way more threatening.
Kross has said before on twitter that he keeps doing the pumphandle setup to wind people up because of the negative reaction it got when he first did it 😂

I don't know how to explain Byron Saxton's "finisher," but here is my best effort: Cobra Clutch, pump fakes a facebuster (or something face forward), and then goes into a kind of sitout Dream Street maneuver.
Nah son, the cobra is one of the best as far as joke finishers go. If Tempest placed it at 9 or 10, then I could agree.

The commentators didn't know what to say so they went with "oh.... that must have discombobulated him" Then the camera cuts to Dolph Ziggler laughing at what he's just seen... It's as if he was stood behind the curtain and someone shouted over "plans have changed - you're winning tonight so you'll need to hit your finish" and Saxton didn't have the balls to say "I haven't got one" so he made something up on the spot.

Superman Punch. It looks good, very dramatic. But I never believed it as actually hurting anyone, you lose all power leaping into the air first. Now if you run at them first, then do it, it's a little better. But just jumping from stand still and punching it looks like a playground fight. For lack of a better description.

Funny thing about the Natural Selection critique. Cena's finisher when he first went heel/thuganomics was the Throwback, rarely seen but a Natural Selection off a setup kick to a standing person. Then he changed it to the FU in the feud with face Brock.
Speaking of, the AA/FU is just weirdly inconsistent. Cause it could be anything from a fireman carry takeover, to a death valley driver/C4, sometimes he'd do a full military press. Sometimes a sitout more like a Michinoku driver.
