I don't think the Greatest Royal Rumble counts. That's just a terrible execution of a good stipulation, not a bad stipulation itself. It's like putting "Royal Rumble 2015" on the list.

It shows my age, but I am shocked that no one included the Scaffold Match. A riveting match between the Road Warriors and Midnight Express, on a scaffold above the ring. They spent the entire match gently punching each other, while being as careful as possible not to knock each other off.
And you can't lose if you don't climb the scaffold... yet everyone climbs the scaffold.
Judy Bagwell on a pole match is the greatest match stip ever.

They break their own rules most of the time too
But they failed to mention the worst part. How they almost all have the same finish. The heel starts touching corners and the face touches them in secret behind him and then touches the last one first. A terrible stip with a terrible overused finish makes it very high on my list of terrible gimmick matches, especially ones that were used way more than once.
Tables, Ladders, Chairs, and Stairs is just TLC with extra steps.

I remember one of those Cyber Tuesday or whatever set ups that was like “Oh you pick the stipulations”. Then they let us choose between a Street Fight, Falls Count Anywhere, and No Holes Barred. 🤦♂️
At least Falls Count Anywhere is slightly varied. A different vote they literally had Street.Fight, No Holds Barred, and No DQ. Which are all anything goes but must win in the ring variants. 😂

Hilarious video as always! I think it's a testament to how many terrible gimmicks there are in wrestling that the Scaffold match, which is both boring to watch and extremely dangerous doesn't even feature on any of these lists!

Yes, Thank You Tempest for putting the Red Light/Green Light Strap Match at #1. I despise that match type and it made me hate it even more when I saw what a normal strap match looked like.
Loved how list almost gave everyone a brain aneurism with all their choices
On the Reverse Battle Royal, last year, NXT had an open challenge for the North American Title, that featured the majority of the locker room backstage, rushing out to get to the ring first. It was a mad scramble of bodies through tight corridors, featuring teamwork and acrobatics and plenty of sabotage. It was quick and frantic and energetic, more of a segment than a match, but that is absolutely how you pull off that concept.

This makes me miss Worst Match Ever.
ETA. I bet if you put 2 really good technical wrestlers like Danielson or ZSJ, they could make the blindfold match work. First few seconds would be finding each other, and then just good technical mat wrestling but the added hurdle of not being able to see. But I'm sure the blindfolds would fall off.
Well good news, on the last lists of worst matches of the decades, tempest confirmed its coming back this friday :D
You could very well just do that without the blindfolds and still get very much the same result.

I've watched this video 3 or 4 times, just because of Sullivan's "even just a man with a gun!" It's so perfect.
It says something that "Judy Bagwell on a pole" was one of the best matches on it's PPV
I mean at the end of the day it was Buff Bagwell vs Kanyon. that's not a terrible match on paper.
The worst thing about the Stairs match is that people get thrown into stairs or hit with stairs all the time in regular matches without getting disqualified. So it’s basically a normal match but they’re telling you all the stairs spots you’ve seen before are going to be in it
WCW's electrified cage and the electric chair match are the two worst. Most combatants, were damn good workers. These matches made everyone involved look bad.

I saw the Ambrose Asylum match live. I remember being so excited for it and then being very disappointed after it happened.
7:35 so confused after pausing to read match names, with "shark cage" written over stairs thumbnail and "stairs" over shark cage.
It wasn't a good match, but I did think the visuals for the Pitch Black match were pretty cool.

Go back and watch the Judy Bagwell match. It is not anything but a regular match between Buff Bagwell and Kanyon as Sully said. It’s actually a decent match (especially compared to everything else on that PPV). The dumb part is just having Judy Bagwell out there on a forklift for no reason.
WCW Chamber of Horrors, Doomsday Cage match, Triple Cage. Surprised none of these got mentioned.

The reverse battle royale is the equivalent to sitting on the couch and trying to reach the remote that's on the other side of the couch.

Off the top of my head, the worst stipulations are: electrified steal cage, blindfold steel cage (if you know you know), scaffolding match, pudding match and an eye for an eye
Edit: just remembered the San Francisco 49ers match, dog kennel from hell, ring of fire, that Russo tower of doom, monster truck sumo match, and the one where Abdullah the Butcher got electrocuted. Man wrestling has had some awful stipulations over the years huh

Also, Judy Bagwell on a Forklift match was easily one of the 2-3 best matches on the New Blood Rising card. It's true. The show was that bad.

I just saw my first indie show today and the main event had the most insane stipulation I've ever heard that i kind of love it. It's a title match that starts as a fatal four-way, then when someone gets pinned, the person who pins them takes one of four bags hung on the ringposts, leaves, and the match becomes a triple threat, then the next person to get a pin takes a bag, leaves and it becomes a 1 on 1. The winner of that chooses his bag and the loser gets whatevers left. One bag contains 3 lumps of coal (it's a mining themed promotion) and if they get that it means they win the championship, the bag with 2 lumps of coal means they'll have a guaranteed title shot, the bag with 1 coal means they'll have a guranteed title shot at the midcard title, the final bag is empty AND WHOEVER GETS THAT ONE IS FIRED. So basically nothing in the match matters it's all about what bag you pick (the guy who tapped out first won the the championship and the last man standing got fired). This is such a dumb idea (big TNA energy) that i have no choice but love it
You missed the San Francisco 49ers match. When the first box wouldn't come down, the 2nd box had a blow up doll in it. The 3rd had a picture of Scott Hall and the final box broke and the belt fell to the floor and was handed by a member of the crew to Booker T.

The King of the Mountain is supposed to be the equivalent of planting a flag on the highest peak of the mountain.
Any chance of getting Worst Match Ever back on TH-cam? The show has been gone for over a year now and it was great. Really would like to see it make a return.
I will argue that a Blindfold Match is the perfect match for a house show to get the crowd involved. A blindfold match on TV isn’t a very good thing to watch.
I listen to videos while working out and doing boring tasks at home (like dishes) & work (like data entry). I don't usually watch these videos bc you have to look at the screen to see the picks. If you'd just start speaking your picks after they're revealed, I would listen to these more.
I vaguely remember the mountain dew match but only because bray Wyatt looked like a TNG era klingon with the paint. At least to me he did, no shade to bray he still looked cool but that's really all I remember, that and I think someone jumped from the titantron to end the match or something.

King of the mountain is great concept that was never really given a worthwhile booking
Combined with the heat he's getting for not liking Seth's theme
Fun Fact(s): Bray Wyatt's last run including dark matches and house shows was just 8 matches. ALL were against LA Knight, and Bray went 8-0.
For the newer wrestling fans, it's be great if clips roll or even just pictures of the matches they're talking about rolled as they spoke about them
If I'm not mistaken I think when it comes down to just two wrestlers in the Reverse Battle Royal it just becomes a normal match.

Reverse Battle Royale, Best in the World, pole match, Greatest Royale Rumble, red hell in a cell match, a lot of the Saudi matches, a few divas clothes matches. Forgot about the Brawl for All. Have to appreciate the stupidity of just changing the name of an already established stipulation match. The escape the catch 2 guys in a small catch, junk yard match, & fighting on a moving car are all really bad. Eye for an eye match could be awesome with Vader or New Jack as Vader popped his eye back in on 1 match & New Jack would be crazy enough to do this match
I'm sure someone's already mentioned this, but at least NXT did the "reverse battle royal" idea correctly. Granted it wasn't a match, but when Wes Lee had the North American Championship, and said that the next person to get in this ring can have a match for this belt; the camera pans to the entrance and we soon see about a dozen guys flailing and throwing fists to get out of the entranceway (a natural bottleneck, +10 points to NXT), then you see one of the high-flyers (I can't remember which, possibly Scrypts or Axiom) just fly over the whole group of them and easily strolls into the ring for the match.
THAT'S how you do the Reverse Battle Royal: a quick 30 second fight where someone finds a way to distance themselves from the pack and "win" quickly.
I like the Pitch Black Match.
It looks cool. That is all I was looking for in a Bray match.
None of the other sponsored matches look as cool as that one.

The fact the Chamber of Horrors match isn't number 1 or even on the list at all is BS.
One that will always hold a special place in my heart (you know, in the dark part where all the horrible stuff that I hate goes) is the Scaffold Match. It has all of the elements that make a terrible match, the extra slow and heavy crowd involvement of the blindfold match, the impossible to seeness of the Punjabi prison, the totally underwhelming and nonsensical added stipulation of the red light green light strap match with the capture the flag element of WCW iterations, and the added bonus of being extremely dangerous to the point of potential lethalness if someone has one misstep because of how high up they are. It is putrid to watch and nearly impossible to wrestle and I’ll never not hate it.
I watch wrestling pretty religiously and I remember the bit of the bubbly memes ..... How have I never even heard about this OJ match ?
I was in attendance for TNAs “Electric Cage”, and my god the boos coming from the crowd when we heard that piped in shock sound. It was abysmal.
Follow up, I also saw that awful blindfold match….yeah….TNA Lockdown was a fun time
