Without money to donate I am sharing links for help and trying to make people aware of the political situation which is greater that the cost of gas or the value of our stock portfolios. Please urge our leaders to stop buying Russian Oil. HIgh gas prices allow Putin to profit and fuel this conflict. Putin to be bombing a nuclear area - he could potentially irradiate all of Europe. How green is that? Just the tip of the iceberg. Cut off his money to fund this war. Blessings to you and your family, the Ukrainians and all the Russian people who are also suffering.

My family has a very strong hereditary double chin. I did a micro liposuction procedure with thermi tight which cost me $4000 and added twilight sedation for a total of $4500. It was totally worth every penny. I have lost a lot of weight since the procedure as well, but spending all the money on the fat removal motivated me to keep it off. I have it too, I am overweight but have had some degree of this since adolescence when I started to develop more adult features. My mother, grandmother, aunt, they all practically had a wattle, unrelated to weight. I lost weight hoping it would change and it didn't. That is the one thing I would like to have addressed one day (when my "neck surgery" fund is full up).

I have it too this hereditary double chin that makes me look about 10 years older than I am.. it’s sucks. I never really see anyone under 50 having this weird shaped neck that I had since I was a child. Now I’m 35. It was much better when I didn’t have some extra weight on me, but I never looked like everyone else. I’m not sure I could afford surgery any time soon because I’m not working atm because of health issues, but I’m wishing my dear fiancé maybe helps me fund it some day ☺️ for now I just have my long thick hair to cover my not so conventionally flattering profile ..

Hi, I got 1 full treatment of Kybella in 2020. I lost all feeling/sensation underneath my chin ever since. I also feel like the tissue under my chin has permanent damage you can see from the outside. My case is not severe whatsoever, but just wanted to put this out there - if you get Kybella from a professional and there is nerve and tissue damage, nothing can be done to fix this. Apparently, the Kybella reps were contacted and they said that I was the only person to ever have this issue. That is all that happened. Just wondering if anyone else out there has too. I feel like getting one dose of Kybella also changed the entire structure of my lower face/jaw/and definitely my chin. I don't recommend it!

I had Kybella done under my chin about 10 yrs ago and still looks good. I was in my fifties and am pleased with the results. My dermatalogist said I was a good candidate for it. I went conservative on the dosage and it can get costly. It was about a $1000.00 for the procedure. Sometimes less is best, don't let them talk you to get more after you heal. I swelled for about a week, hard to swallow and some pain. But not as bad as having your tonsils removed. The results are permanent and it got rid of my turkey neck. Think this is genetic bcuz my mom had it too. I've never had anything else done except I use retinal, vitamin c on my skin and wear a sunscreen if out in the sun. I also take collagen peptides in my tea or with water and I take hyaluronic acid, 2 capusules. Most of all lots of water. I must say I have no wrinkles and am close to 70. Take care of your skin as you age is the key.

This is an extremely thorough and informative video. I’d like to add my personal experience which may help viewers. I always had what I believe to be genetic fullness to the submental region. I underwent submental lipo with good but not definitive results. After studying facial aesthetics, I recognized an additional component was a slightly retrognathic chin. When I explored this more I realized that actually I have a tongue tie, which has caused incorrect tongue positioning for my entire life, which can contribute to suboptimal development of the mandible and weakened muscle tone in the neck. After myofunctional exercises of the tongue, I noticed tightening in the soft tissue of the area which has enhanced my jawline contour. Between this and my procedure, I have finally realized the results that I’ve been seeking. In fact, incorrect tongue positioning explains many things I experienced in general including snoring which has significantly improved. Tongue tie is very common and worth considering. Cheers to all

My mother bestowed upon me a high metabolism and predisposition towards being skinny, which is great! But she also passed on a girthy subplatysmal fat deposit. So it doesn't matter if I'm pregnant and weigh 150, or if I'm down to 115, I still have a big double chin. Even when I barely weighed 100 pounds in high school, I had a double chin. My BMI classified me as underweight, and I still had a double chin. I hate it. So of course it's only correctable with surgery, and it's the most expensive of the surgical procedures. Fml.

My facial structure is much like the late Penny Marshall. In my youth I thought a nose job would fix it but then realised that it's more the chin. I tried training myself to stick my chin out then I just look stubborn. Now that I'm old it seems kind of pointless. I once had one of my kids in ICU, and a teenage girl in the next bed who had gone in for some kind of routine surgery on her jaw, had a clot or something, and was being disconnected from her life support. That kind of put me off for life. If people think I'm ugly that's their problem- I can still spread Love and Kindness no matter what I look like :)

Researchers at the Stanford Longaker Lab have shown injection of verteporfin at the incision site prevents scar tissue formation in both mice and pig skin. I’m quite petite but had a prominent hereditary submental fat pad combined with little chin projection, giving me a strong double chin. This was my biggest insecurity and dominated my self perception. In 2020, at the age of 26, I got a chin implant, submental liposuction, and a platysmaplasty, all as an outpatient procedure with no sedation (but of course fully numbed). It was a bizarre experience but by far one of the best things I ever did for myself and I would do it all over again 100x!

(I'm not doubting, just shocked that a doctor would do it and that you as a patient would agree to it. It seems like it would help the cost and side effects that some experience from anesthesia.)

Best thing I ever did. I had a receding chin and lots of neck fat even though I was a skinny chick. My face didn’t match my body in that way.

English is the second language because I'm a Japanese, and I studied at a community college as an international student for two years at near in L.A California after gratitudeing high school in Japan. So I'm familiar with the English accent of Western side rather than Eastern side such as New York. But your way of speaking is really easy to understand even for me, and it's also helpful to listen comfortable that the tone of a voice never become emotional, it keeps stable line witout too much up&down. At last, I like your smile it's very jentle and peaceful!!
Well today in both Korea and Japan, it's so common to get filler in downside eyelids just like creating a mountains by filler and a creace. I think it's for a trend iconic face which many people's ideal. The beauty standard differs in every countries, and it very popular procedure in Japan where are influenced a lot by K-pop. No one enjoys talking about foxyeyes which is popular in U.S as you show us because the trend face is different although it's in the same 2022. Japanese don't have the interest with filler lips at all. The ideal lips is to blur a lipline and a redrouge just in tge center area.
I can understand American culture and Japanese(+Korean) culture because of my experience of graduating a college in U.S. We Japanese are always big fun of Hollywood movies and actors, yet it's interesting we seek different types of Perfect Beauty compared to American one.
I know the trend face structure is changing as time goes by and it's a symbol of the era,I mean foxyeyes won't be popular anymore in the near future 10 yeas later. It's just like Paris Hilton isn't influencer now although she was so famous in alk over the world two decades. That's one of the readon I'll never have a plastic surgery. A plastic surgery is sort of Fashion fo me, every new season new looks cone up, it's Endless.
    Cheers from Tokyo in Japan

Orthodontist here. I'm curious to hear your perspective on the pros and cons of genioplasty for chin implants. I had oral surgeons in residency tell me that genioplasty is their preferred treatment, as there are less complications. But I'd like to hear your perspective, especially when it comes to the esthetics. I've seen a few genioplasties make the chin look too large for the patient's face.

Genioplasty is great for face balance for lateral height and or projectiom. Implant can only do projection. Implant has a quick recovery. Whereas it could take 6-12 months for genioplasty swelling to go down. Are you assessing your patients a year after surgery and still feel the chin too large for the patient's face?

    • @laurenprince139
      @laurenprince139 ปีที่แล้ว +3

I've had both (got nervous about side effects of an implant so got it removed) the implant provided some wideness that the geneoplasty could not achieve for me because I have very small jaws, otherwise, it looks about the same as the chin implant. The only downside is I have nerve damage after the genioplasty. Not sure if that is because I had multiple procedures in the area or an error by the surgeon but I regained all feeling after the chin implant which is obviously preferred. Just one person's personal experience comparing the two!

If before I had considered plastic procedures as a possibility for myself some time in the future, this video made me change my mind.
If I ever develop some sort of a serious change in features due to cancer or burns or something similar, I could see treatment like this as an option again, but seeing the high level of intervention necessary to achieve results that are never guaranteed is not something I'd be willing to risk.
My soft under-chin and dropped cornered of the eyes will carry on.

I have large submandibular glands so my anatomy just gives me a full look, which I still have on my left side. She did submental liposuction with deep neck surgery as well. My only complaint about the surgery (not my anatomy) is that there was too much fat taken where my hyoid bone is so the skin is very thin and looks older just in that area. But I don’t regret it at all. I tried Coolsculpting and it had no effect.

Thanks for the very instructive videos, Dr Linkov. For people with EDS, plastic surgeries are usually contraindicated, not just because of the likelihood of serious keloid scarring, but also, because of the typical recurrent laxity of the skin, and general fragility of all tissues (cartilage, tendons, nerves, blood vessels, etc) and the probability of causing irreparable damage to them. In the area near the eyes, the risk is even bigger, considering that retinal detachment can occur. But what happens when EDS is the cause of strange facial features or looseness in the facial features, such as narrow upper lips, a sagging lower lip that shows the bottom teeth since early age, a double epicantic fold, protracted chin, and a strange fold of the glabella? Can these things be enhanced with not fillers or botox, but more permanent surgeries that do not make matters worse?

i've had a thick neck and double-chin my whole life, regardless of weight, which felt so unfair! (i found out later i had long had untreated hypothyroidism, which sure didn't help trying to keep weight down and caused strange swelling and other issues) i was also convinced that it would be overly-dangerous to have any kind of deep-neck surgery for cosmetic purposes, so this has been really illuminating and helpful, and has made the surgical options seem a lot less scary.
