Honestly this sort of thing is really fascinating to me, in terms of what are they thinking and why are they translating it this way? In general teenage girls really are the originators of so much culture. The feelings and trends and how they see themselves have such an interestingly large effect on the internet and other culture. Of course society doesnt recognize that, cuz teenage girls are just basic and dumb, right, but actually girls and young women are the originators of a lot of the meme landscapes and internet culture.
