Tamiyo's Journal is a pretty sweet card for commander pay 5 mana once, then tutor out your nastiest/meanest card for free every 3 turns or draw an additional card each turn for 2 mana. Pretty useful, in my opinion.
for modern players, Fevered Visions + The Rack just mod out a 8rack shell for the visions.
I bought into 1 pre-release and got 2 Sorins out of it. Loving this set already, can't wait for eldrazi to rotate out.
My situation is as follows: i don't play this game, i know people who do, i know very little about this game, but i like to watch shinny things get opened. *enjoyment*

My blue Eldrazi deck lost 2 games to a mill deck last night. 2x Sphinx's Tutelage and 2x Fevered Visions on the field was brutal x.x
that rattle chains is very good with blue white spirits because if you use the right cards, you can keep replaying that and triggering things

Drogskol Cavalry saved me in my prerelease. I was at 2 life, had Cavalry in play, made a spirit, gained 2, and won the next turn. Yes my other bomb was Avacyn which won me a lot of games but in this case the cavalry saved the day. Limited BOMB@!!!
I pulled an Arlinn Kord during a prerelease I did on the 2nd. She is really a great plainswalker. Funny story, even though I ended up in second place (3 total losses), the one time I played Arlinn Kord was during a loss. My board was so terrible at that point that it was inevitable though.
I want to start playing magic but I don't understand how to play. Can you use cards from any of the booster packs or sets? There's different sets out there when you go to any store so can I mix and match and play with any?
i got a lot of foils too in my unboxing. was pretty unexpected, but boogie makes a good case that there is a flip card and another random, so the chances are increased.
I literally know NOTHING about Magic The Gathering.. yet this series is probably one of my favorites of yours. Don't know why.

Tamiyo's Journal is very good for EDH. Especially for non-blue decks that need card draw
+Lucas Garrett Magnifying Glass is also a pretty solid mana rock for EDH, if you have the mana to dump you can investigate. semi-card draw in a rock is so nice.
i absolutly love some of the flip cards especially the ones with flavour text relating to their transformations
Boogie, just wanted to say, I've never played MTG before but always enjoy watching your unboxing videos! It feels like I am kinda learning when I watch. Anyways, keep up the great work! Also, have you ever thought about doing any other MTG videos like deck buildings or strategy commentaries?

What software do you use for your recordings?
For me the flip cards were the first card after the commons and not at then end (at least in the 2 boxes I opened). I had 2 mythics in one pack (Hydra and Startled Awake), 3 is a dream :)
watching you open these makes me want to go back to the days when I would do this, but I know I would bankrupt myself without the help like you get, great video Boogie!
Mill decks are great all you need is like 3 sphinxes tutelages and a days undoing

Standard mill was 100% a thing in last standard with Jeskai Ascendancy and Sphinx's Tutelage
I bought a pack of these the other day since I noticed it was a new set... I pulled the werewolf planeswalker... it is actually my first pw and I've been playing/collecting since tempest...
How much do those boxes cost? I'm wanting to get into MtG but I have no idea where to start or what to buy. Help!
If you want into mtg then stick with standard. Outside of that then expect 1000+ dollars for good decks.
+Arist Channels Around $100. I'd recommend starting by seeing if you can find drafts in your area. Google MtG store locator. You buy three packs and pass them around with 7 other players (who also buy 3 packs) to build decks on the spot. You'll build a collection and learn good card evaluation skills and play fundamentals. Just buying a box honestly isn't usually worth it.

The blue mill cards I want them soo much and in original inastrad blue mill was really scary in standard at that time along with red black vamps
I shit you not, I got a Foil Chandra from a booster in an intro pack. And it was conveniently decent for the deck I was building. 3/1 elementals and getting a new hand mid-game.

Opened a box this Saturday. I wanted Arlinn Kord so bad and didn't end up pulling him. Got Some other good mythics though.
My boyfriend and I opened two boxes so far. We pulled 5/6 mythics in both. I was pretty excited, but we aren't sure how that affects the cost.
depending on mythics and box price you probably broke even

I work at walmart, and during my break I bought a pack and was surprised to find a foil "always watching", good to see you share my luck.
Went to a sealed tourney, pulled a foil Ulvenwald Hydra, a Nahiri, and got Sage of the Ancient Lore as my promo.
Is text different from past sets? It looks a bit thinner and kinda cool.
I ended up getting Nahiri and Avacyn from the same pack. Ended up with 5 mythics total from my box.
Within my first coulee packs I got archangel avacyn thing in the ice and the red/white plane walker

I bought an intro pack of this which included 5 booster packs and got two shiny ones, one was a mythic rare (an orange symbol thing I think?) and the other was a rare (I think?).

in my box was NO planeswalkers and no Avacyn! 6 mythics and some not bad cards though. Ugh i wanna pull Avacyn & Sorin.
dude my prerelease box was lit. i got a promo Relentless Dead, then pulled Relentless Dead again, Avacyn, and 2 other mythics that i cant think of atm. it was crazy

I would recommend Tolarian Community College. Its an amazing channel and they have great tips about quality of different magic products.
