You should eat 1 dice a day, and as you poop it out successfully, wash it off, disinfect it, and put it back into your collection. That way, when you trade it, you're giving people a special piece of boogie2988
Man Boogie, as a person who has interest in dice of all shapes in sizes, you're really motivating me to build my own vast collection. I only have the Chessex "Hurricane" poly set which I spent roughly $20 on, just for seven dice? But now you've made me choose to order a pound-o-dice (Which I kind of neglected to buy earlier, but understand why it's the better, more valuable option). I'm going to do a review of it once delivered and perhaps give you a shoutout.
+Boogie2988 I'm not much younger than you (I'm 36), and I used to have a glow in the dark set of dice just like you had. Wow!! What a wonderful nostalgic moment for me.... Thanks for that! Makes me miss those days of DND and MTG!
These videos are great! Imo you should make more. Also at around 3:25 I think that is an exponential multiplier die, so if you rolled a 7 with a D10 and an X^3 with that die, you would get 343
Oh! There is this bag I got, it's from a website that sells tools and accessories for crafting and construction. They have a sort of pouch meant for holding screws and nails and bolts, and it splits into 6 sections for organization, however, how many kinds of dice are you most likely to have? 6. d4, d6, d8, d10, d12, and d20. It's perfect for a dice bag if you have as many dice as me. (Somewhere near 200+) and if you carry as many dice as me, then you will most likely be the only person bringing dice to your next game of D&D where you'll be passing out your dice to other people... -_-
The die with "X^0", "X^1", etc is likely a math practice tool where a student would roll that die and a d10 and then treat the result of the d10 as X and do the multiplication.
you could probably do an ASMR video with that amount of dice, just like, rolling your hands around the pile or having them roll off some lil wooden box or table or something
Those green ones with unpainted numbers are precision cut, rather than tumbled. They roll more evenly. But, as far as I know, Chessex does not make casino-quality precision dice. Which would be high-grade plastic, and you'd receive them in a state that would require filing down a casting nub. Painting the numbers onto precision dice are half the fun. After all, you get to pick the color, allowing whatever color scheme you can imagine rather than being confined by the colors of dice you can find retail.
My first Dungeons & Dragons character I created in 1981, and I still actually have the character sheet. You talking about dice, it was exactly the same for me. There was one hobby shop a million miles away and buying a new tube of dice was like this big deal They were $8-$10 depending on if you bought solid or translucent ones... and of COURSE I always wanted the translucent ones! Or swirly! I also have the same exact glow in the dark set :D
I think that the Cheses pound o' dice with polyhedral dices is on purpose, on how many of those dices you use. D&D uses a damn ton of D20 (Over any other) so you get a lot, and there's also a lot of RP systems that only use D10 (Like the Storyteller System or the Alderac systems) so, getting more D20 and D10 is not a bad thing! Awesome video, I also feel like a kid whenever I get to open new bags of dices.
I find this oddly fascinating for some reason. I never thought of collecting dice, but considering your hobbies, I think its pretty cool. AND THERE ARE SO MANY KINDS OF DICE, OMG.
+Kyle Cross Nah, I found the online rules too confusing. I have a beginner's pack. Besides, I want to share the experience with people I know. Thanks though.
Really cool video! I bought a pound of poly from Chessex in 2005 i think it was. Similar results but did not get any included matched set back then. Love the sky diamonds and those popcorn swirls are kind of nice too. You're pre-existing collection is pretty nice in the unusual dice you have (especially for a relatively small collection, you have a high amount of odd-balls). I got started on the weird ones that came from games that use them. (like cities of doom)[
as another commentor pointed out the X with exponent is likely a math die. I can remember waay back in my early school days a teacher having the dice. They would walk around and roll out 10 math problems for a pop quiz sort of thing. unless Im mistaken. I believe that is actually where the original polyhedral dice to use for D&D came from, was teacher supply catalogs.
Man this is how I feel when ever I dump out all my dice. I have BAGS AND BAGS of dice. I play a rogue because I love rolling a fist full of dice. If you are looking for storage ideas, I just did a review of a kick ass dice bag. Please check it out. I have been binging on your channel for a few days. I have to say I love your personality and presence far more then your Francis bits. You just seem like such a smart, fun guy. Loving the channel.
I was born in 86, the same year you played dungeons and dragons, and I am 29, and have DM'ed since 2000. Those dice are so inspirational to me, and I'm glad I have a fellow soul who believes the same
I just went through and collected my dice as well. I'm older than you so I started playing D&D back in 1978 and even came across my original self-colored in set of dice from my Basic box-set. So much fun and so much history in all of those plastic lumps.
I didn't really like all them weird 20/10 face dice before but since i've seen this you've got me addicted to collecting dice, and it actually interests me, when other youtubers show their collection of things, so please do another video of your stuff :D
Boogie.... you should do a video on how to use those dice sets... I never knew there were so many different sided ones.... How do you read the one that looks like a pyramid? (4 sided)
Actually it does, but on such a small scale that normally the way the water flows is dictated by how the toilet or whatever is built. Veritasium did the experiment to prove this on his channel.
My collection of 120 + pairs of casino dice ain't nothing compared to this guy's dice collection. Man now I'm even more obsessed in collecting casino dice thanks to watching this video.
TBH, dice is on of those miniature items I get real crazy in getting. I dunno why, but I guess hearing them bump into each other and rolling them feels great. Same with how they look. Anyway, I rarely use em’ except for craps at home and game ideas my friends come up with, but I hope I find more game ideas so I can keep using em’.
hey boogie this is super far in the future but you have to do another video like this please its so good and seeing stuff you love is awesome and you actually got me into dice collecting I hope you read this love you dude
@boogie2988 The white dice with X on and small numbers you were asking about seems like it's supposed to look like x to the power of... by that it mean X to the power of 1 = x e.q x^1 = x and x to the power of 0 = 1 e.q x^0 =1. and x to the power of 2 = x*x e.q x^2 =x*x and so forth. hope it helped.
8:48 For dice like these, just use any color spraypaint on them, then drop them in a rag and clean.. the indented numbers will keep the paint, so they become regular VISIBLE dice.
Please show us your MTG collection! This was a great video! I really like this format of show and tell with a little Boogie gaming history thrown in. I always enjoy hearing about the lives of other games and their connections to what they love.
The ones our group ALWAYS has to pull together (while in combat usually twice per round) for are D6s and D10s. Just made the pound of dice purchase. Best thing ever.
Glad to see that I'm not the only person who has an odd love for polygonal dice. I only have a few sets remaining from my AD&D days, but they're NICE sets. lol Swirly green (similar to one I saw in your collection), opalescent gold, translucent with gold glitter, swirly brown, etc. Always in a felt bag, of course.
Those green dice are 8 years older than me. That is extremely impressive. I started playing DnD a week ago and I'm already becoming a dice goblin. I feel like by the end of this month I will end up like you. Evil laughing and eating my dice. Not a bad thing! Just dice insanity 😵💫😵💫😵💫
You would think this would be the worst video on youtube and that it would be boring but its soothing and interesting to me. It's pretty cool, might start a collection myself!
He said there were only 3 colors of green (he put 2 different colors in the same group). He also had trouble multiple times during the video seeing the distinction between pink and purple, and once again grouped two colors of purple together. Watch the video and look for these small clues and u will see what I mean.
I collected dice when I was a kid. I've always had this unexplainable love for them. Lately I've been thinking about getting back into it. Thanks for this video!
Exponent Die: A D6, which, when rolled with another die, you must multiply the number rolled on the initial die by itself by whatever exponent is rolled.
I actually find it enjoyable when people show off their collections of stuff even if I have no interest in it. This was pretty cool and some of those dice are beautiful.
I've never played either games you were talking about. But to me, this was your best video so far just because of how excited and passionate I see you get over these. haha. Great work.
Lost his marbles, found his dice.
Noice
+Guillaume Cabano didn't see anyone else say it so thought I would fill the need.
+Musashi Korian (Funktasticmo)

The sound of those die clinking together are so satisfying

Stepping on a D4 barefoot in the middle of the night when you get up to go to the bathroom. Done that.
Basically the gamer's caltrop
oh god ...
That sucks dick. I've stepped on a pile of D8s before in the night and it sucks too.
Try stepping on an upturned beer bottle cap only minutes after waking up hungover with the urge to puke :)))))))))))
Stepping on a pile of dead babies.

Eh, we can roll with it.
I feel like I want to dice you up. ==

You should eat 1 dice a day, and as you poop it out successfully, wash it off, disinfect it, and put it back into your collection. That way, when you trade it, you're giving people a special piece of boogie2988
Genius
I was almost sick while reading this😠
XD
+Connor farrow you again on boogies videos
Actually, no. Because after the washing and disinfection there would be nothing from him left on it.

Boogie, you're going to get me addicted to dice collecting!
Same with me
i already am
I know how you feel... just looking at all those dice at he end makes me WANT THEM ALL! AND SO MANY MORE!
Already bought an orange polyhedral and 24 orange d6's for £7 around $10
True dat
Strange addictions Episode 69
But really those dice are fucking amazing
LMAO!!!
An obsession, not an addiction.
But it is not even obsessive since no loss of control appears.
Let's just call it a bobby and be happy for the man.
+Bumble Bee bobby
+Bumble Bee bobby
Only Boogie could make me watch a 15 minute video about dice. :o
"I'm willing to bet that some of my dice are older than some of my viewers" well I'm 16, so your beard alone is probably older than me lol
+Boogie2988 I'm not much younger than you (I'm 36), and I used to have a glow in the dark set of dice just like you had. Wow!! What a wonderful nostalgic moment for me.... Thanks for that!
Makes me miss those days of DND and MTG!
The dice with the X and the number is supposed to be an exponential dice i believe. i.e. X^1, X^2, X^3, etc.
Probably to be rolled with a D10 or something. I can't think of any application but teaching math.
Wow it's awesome I know you are a big COLLECTOR but never thought i'd see you collecting dice.. aweosme man!
What a sad life boogie has :( stuck inside because of his health problems, collecting dice.
the correct term is die
Stlouis Missouri for one its a dice for multiple its die
These videos are great! Imo you should make more. Also at around 3:25 I think that is an exponential multiplier die, so if you rolled a 7 with a D10 and an X^3 with that die, you would get 343
cool
hurray for math!!... or is of maths? mathematics?. I say math, what do you say?
+SpenceMX I call it math too! Mathematics seems kind of long to me
thats cool but i dunno what game that would be used for?
I get so happy when he gets excited! XD
I have absolutely no interest in five but love to hear boogie talk about em
Dice*
Go Bucks!
O - H!
+decadesanddecisions I-O!
Do you mean dice? Not five??
You tell your dog you can't eat dice, not to keep the dog safe, but so you can eat them yourself!
Why would he eat dice. Dice are not food
Mel B you mean to tell me....... 🤢
@@MelB868 I just ate all of my dice maybe I should have listened to you

Do D20's taste any different from D12's?
They both have the same symmetries and are duals of each other, so I would suspect not that much
Depends on the color and brand
Anybody else immediately see the "k" dice with the "3" side facing the camera and think... Kkk
thought it was just me lol
dude same lol wtf
+Alex Miller same here dude i thought it too i was like oh a dice with kkk but it was a quad k
Kkk confirmed
Glad to hear I'm not the only one

5:20 Using "dice" as a singular form and "die" when talking about a pile of 500 lmao XD
Man, I really want to play D&D, but I can never arrange a get together!
same, I live in a small town with no friends play the games I live with :(
Roll 20 + Reddit?

Nah, I found the online rules too confusing. I have a beginner's pack. Besides, I want to share the experience with people I know. Thanks though.
Roll 20 is a great place to learn just ask forsomeone to teach you or look for gamez that are free to play and are for begginer
I live in a garbage can
This made me want to start collecting die
dice

When did they start selling D20 with MTG? I was playing in high school and don't remember them then.
Oh so 10 years later. lol
+boogie2988 I think the translucent ones were the best by far
ever since i can remember,
Francis needs to do a rage about APB Reloaded that just released for the Xbox One, I think he'll really like the $200 worth of DLC.
Please do a video for your board game collection! I'm just getting into playing board games and would love to know what you enjoy!
I was born in 86, the same year you played dungeons and dragons, and I am 29, and have DM'ed since 2000. Those dice are so inspirational to me, and I'm glad I have a fellow soul who believes the same
Dice are amazing! I know what you mean...I like how they clink together...its weird. I'm weird XD
Please do more of these, I'd love to see your other collections
I just went through and collected my dice as well. I'm older than you so I started playing D&D back in 1978 and even came across my original self-colored in set of dice from my Basic box-set. So much fun and so much history in all of those plastic lumps.
Why do I want to go buy some die now? I don't even play Magic or any other games that involve die.
dice
+mat due Huh, I always thought the plural of dice was die. My mistake.
the plural is die.
Historically, die = singular and dice = plural.
Same. I'm wanting a set like that pearlescent white with gold numbering from the last bag and I don't know why.
Love videos like these Boogie! Do more of your collectibles :D
I didn't really like all them weird 20/10 face dice before but since i've seen this you've got me addicted to collecting dice, and it actually interests me, when other youtubers show their collection of things, so please do another video of your stuff :D
That is actually pretty cool. A lot of nice Die.
What?
it's the singular of dice
Sammy! Dice aren't food! *Puts dice in mouth* :3
The shear happiness on his face when he looked at all the dice and how much his collection grew. Keep up the good content :)
Boogie.... you should do a video on how to use those dice sets... I never knew there were so many different sided ones.... How do you read the one that looks like a pyramid? (4 sided)
Whichever point is up is that number. Each side has the same number next to a point, and there are 4 points on the d4.
+John McLellan don't forget about the weird ones on D4s that sometimes its the number on the bottom lol
Do you have the d6 or the d100 from the binding of isaac??
That happy laugh at the end.. totally the best. I'd be overjoyed myself, tho my need to organize would consume me and I'd spend HOURS organizing them!
If I wanted to send you a dice, how would I go about doing that boogs?
*die (rookie mistake don't roast me)
+boogie2988 alright man if I can I'll send a die from down under
He already corrected himself.
Does it roll the other way around?
PS: The Coriolis force does not make a water vortex turn in any direction. That is just a myth, I know.
Actually it does, but on such a small scale that normally the way the water flows is dictated by how the toilet or whatever is built. Veritasium did the experiment to prove this on his channel.
Please keep uploading videos about your collections! It's very interesting.
My collection of 120 + pairs of casino dice ain't nothing compared to this guy's dice collection. Man now I'm even more obsessed in collecting casino dice thanks to watching this video.
You're like Smaug at the end.:D
You should play Warhammer 40k. You use a lot of dice for that game haha
ORKS!!! xD so many dice DAKA WAAGHHHH

You should make a D&D or magic tutorial for people than don't know how to play
I was on the fence on buying some more dice for my D&D group and this convinced me to get the Wiz Dice pack. Dice are just so much fun to collect.
LOL. looks like they need to send a "Don't eat the Dice" warning label
to be fair they do look colorful as skittles.
That X dice looks like exponents 0, 1, 2, of a number you decide. Maybe a number game?
8:48 For dice like these, just use any color spraypaint on them, then drop them in a rag and clean.. the indented numbers will keep the paint, so they become regular VISIBLE dice.
I love these videos that he makes
What website do you get the "bag of holding from" Boogie? I'm interested, very interested. Oh, and do I get the Boogie subscriber discount?
+boogie2988 thank you for showing your collection you inspire me I got 3 bags for my collection
+boogie2988 boogie why did you put dice in your mouth...do you have a fetish

Would love seeing more of your collection stuff, great video Boogie.
I really like this video, you should make more

I haven't watched this video since it came out, looking at him now Boogie has come a long way, actually walking on a rocky road. And I'm proud of him
I love dice even though I don't play board games
Lost Orbit Official Vevo dice other than d6s are usually used in table top rpgs like d&d instead of regular board games
I'm 2 years older than those dice. die. . dice. . . some one teach me the English
Die singular, dice plural.
dice for plural and singular
You sure about that?
+Fernando Pulido Are you Sure about that?*

Look, if you want to be a Grammar Nazi, then you have to try harder. Everyone's just laughing at you.
I haven't played DnD in 15 years and I still have my massive faithful d20 after all those years. Thanks for the trip down memory lane :)
you are a great guy boogie
Yeah, he's cool

I know😞 I miss this Boogie
Pleeeeeeeease make a warcraft movie review
You would think this would be the worst video on youtube and that it would be boring but its soothing and interesting to me. It's pretty cool, might start a collection myself!
Dude, you're like a little kid in a candy store
you should see my room 400+ gundam models and every warmachine/hordes model ever
that sounds fucking amazing
Chris Story THAT MUCH GUNDAMS!?!?!?!? I only have 7 hg gundams :'c cries in the corner
Boogie, I think you're color blind. :\
Why?
I'm colllllll
Fully color blindness is very rare, so i dont doubt it.
He said there were only 3 colors of green (he put 2 different colors in the same group). He also had trouble multiple times during the video seeing the distinction between pink and purple, and once again grouped two colors of purple together. Watch the video and look for these small clues and u will see what I mean.
jumli7 I don't think he is completely color blind, he probably just has trouble telling some colors apart.
8:44, you can actually ink the numbers yourself. That's how those dice work generally.
omg 10:58 my dnd fam has two crown royal bags filled with dice. i love this ty for sharing your collection with us Boogie!
I like it when you mix it up. This was really cool to watch. Happy collecting!
This genuinely made me smile! Boogie, you're officially on my list of people I'd love to play D&D with!
I actually find it enjoyable when people show off their collections of stuff even if I have no interest in it. This was pretty cool and some of those dice are beautiful.
I've never played either games you were talking about. But to me, this was your best video so far just because of how excited and passionate I see you get over these. haha. Great work.
