Yes THEY SUCK
Basilisks almost ruin Abberation for me. Every single time I go to that map I get wrecked by a basilisk 9 times in a row. Absolutely hate starting a new base on Abberation.
I got lucky the way I started, I ran out into the river and in to a spot where it was relatively safe, the river dwellers never really went far enough to reach me and a bunch of rock and trees kept most other wild life out, I got myself some raptors and from there I progressed somewhat normally and even got an early Rock drake because I was on local console mode.
@@noahjahnsen7841 that's the way to do it. My first time I made the mistake of trying to start up in the recommended starting area.
Theres a total of about 200 wood up there and absolutely no water, and almost always a basilisk in my playthroughs. Dont start in the recommended area whatever you do. Especially as a brand new survivor.
@@dillongage7628 oh yeah, that place they want you to start, I've once gone back there and found like 4 basilisks in one trip, by then I was on my Rock drake but still the fact that they recommend it is irritating, over all Abberation is very irritating, for a while it was hard to get my raptors because the ravagers would be all over the place, and visa versa, when I got a few raptors I bred them and when I had an army then I started fighting things and getting metal and what not, and this was starting with a higher level character after transferring him from valguero. But I managed through dumb luck and raptors, Gotta love raptors... Except before you get bolas anyways
Plingers intros alone deserve likes, and everything after has always been worthwhile, entertaining and funny

The first time I loaded into aberration in the starter area a baslisk fell from an upper level on my head and killed me. I had to load into a harder region after that.

I never realised how big the rock drake is its enormous
Pretty small honestly. Bout the size of a Morrelatops or a stego. Almost all of the large dinos are much bigger than a rock drake. Rock Drakes are all tail, and the feathers make them look bigger than they really are.
These things are the bane of my existence on this map. I see those feelers coming out the ground and I get flashbacks
Try going to the volcano biome in genisis, they are everywhere

Basilisks are one of my favorite tames and im so happy you're doing a video on them :)
The easiest way I found taming a basilisk is letting it aggro on other creatures (as long as it’s not something that can dish out LOTS of damage) and drop the egg right by its face from my inv, climb on whatever tame I have, and go backwards facing the egg. Once the basilisk either kills or loses whatever it was attacking, no matter how far he is, he will come back to the fert egg.
I’ve tamed 10 basils with this method on fjordur and planning to do the same once I get to abb lol
A small detail on the taming process: drop the egg from your own inventory and not from the inventory of your dino. Sounds obvious, but in a hurry that might happen and you don't want that. 😉

You should do a basics video on the tuso! They’re pretty cool and fun to use
theres easier way. u clear area around, drop shoulder pet on the ground, place 1 stone/metal foundation on top of shoulder pet to protect it so that shoulder pet would be completely invisible below, drop drake eggs on foundation, aggro sniki snek with urself and run pass foundation that u placed, snake will de-agro from u and aggro on shoulder pet beneath foundation trying to kill it and instead eat eggs. it works 100% and it wont burrow and lose taming effectiveness .
also just fun info about alpha basilisk, took me over 6 months to find one myself in single player...
Phlinger always tames one of these but never actually uses it lol.
I lost my first set of iron tools to a basilisk on crystal isles near the red obelisk
You don’t need to be THIS careful. I’ve tamed 5 just by flying in on a pteranodon with random armor, get it to agro, then drop an egg while flying. They eat the egg while chasing you and instant tame. I’ve also used magmasaur eggs and fire Wyvern eggs

So I have found some on crystal isles but I cannot for the life of me get it to come up out of the ground, I tried walking up to it, I tried shooting it and I literally landed and argentavis on it and nothing... what do I gotta do?

@Jrwolvie you can’t. There is a rumor going around they can be tamed using crystal wyvern eggs, but you cannot. They can only be tamed on aberration or genesis part 1.

@@Jrwolvie exactly. For ‘aesthetic purposes’ you can look at the ARK wiki, Dododex, they are not tameable on Crystal Isles. Why add SEEKERS if they are untamable. Why add NAMELESS. ‘Aesthetic Purposes’
Me and all of my tames have been murdered by a basilisk, even my roll rat and that was my best line of defense
The way that i saw it the only oractical use for em is that transport feature
I really hope that the creators of ark mobile adds Basilisk.

Check out his "Coffee time with Phlinger" videos. I believe he covers transferring in the first one but in the second one, he goes into great detail about it. It helped me a lot.

@@lucassmith9181 true dat and also daily theres always 2 rexes near the blue ob 1 tek 1 normal or 2 normal and i always tame them im likemei yin now kinda idont even have an order i just tame anything that tries to kill me like whenever i get hit by a raptor i just one shot it with my 227% longneck then tame it now i have a pack of.... what like 20 raptors? yeah its crazy

You left out a very important detail: the egg has to be dropped from player inventory, not ridden dinos. Also, the inventory page has to be the one you press I to open (that doesn't have your ridden dinos tab), dropping it from player's tab using the dino inventory by pressing F doesn't work. I got soooo mad when Basilisk refuses to eat the eggs until I figured that out.
Can you do an ark basic for the reaper please
So I bought a PS4 server for ark on gportal and I watched your guide to setting it up when u first lit the name of the server and active it u say to wait and let the map show up and then u cut I’ve had the server for a little bit more than 2 days and it still ain’t up or I can’t find what do I do
Hit the button where it says offline on your gportal settings for the server, it will slide to green and say online

Phoo can u help me pls i play on official server pve on ragnarok 737 , an i was on a meat run forgot to close a door an Martin of the tribe batty came in an stolen 72 cryo's full of rexes 80 to 100% imp an many of my breeder from a cryofrige that i dont remember leaving unlocked , i tried to look up how to report them but i found that i cant , i lost so much i dont know what to do , my ark name is dontEATme , i lost my first acc. to making a clan an leaving it , i reported that it took them to long to get to me all my things auto deleted so i started new im lvl 108 an this happens another set back by this game i spent so much money unlocking all dlc's

They for sure take Rockdrake eggs. We got us some of these snakes.
So you can only use rock drake eggs even on CI?
No they eat magmasaur eggs as well, it's easier and faster to farm the infinite spawning drake nest on Ab though instead of trying to get enough magmasaur eggs, mind you it depends on server settings as a 150 on official rates needs 10/11 eggs but on faster settings where you only need 2 or 3 then you might as well go and grab some magmasaur eggs especially if you don't already have drakes on Ab or play single player and don't have a transmitter to transfer off easily
@@SteveFisher0571 ok cuz my server on CI has drakes and I don't have ab or genesis and it is boosted so idk how many it will take

Pro tip number 1 for basilisk if your on your own serve use cheat force tame no spaces while facing the basilisk then boom free basilisk
I'm pretty sure you forgot to mention how Magmasaur eggs can work as a subsitute for Rock Drake eggs on Genesis for taming a Basilisk ?
