Stay on your drake place 4 dinosaur gates. Make a square trap. Drop the eggs in thr middle. Then jump off your drake to agro. Watch it eat. I've tamed 20+ basilisk this way. Simple.
I believe that griffins in mythology always laid eggs for some reason. It was a big plot point in a few stories, where the main character would steal a griffon egg and use it as a magic ingredient. Love the videos!
I guess the idea is that they act more like birds, and thus they act like birds in regards to breeding. But there’s also the fact the back half, the half that would give birth/lay eggs, is the mammal half in Ark. So there’s logic on both sides, but if the legends say they laid eggs then that’s a important point to say they should lay eggs in Ark
Another Awesome Video! Did you know you can tame a basilisk with just a shoulder pet and a stone Foundation? just throw down the pet and put the foundation over it, then drop all the eggs on top of the foundation and the basilisk will agro the pet and eat the eggs
I've had a lot of success with a light pet placed under 2 foundations with eggs pre-dropped. Kite snek to the eggs and move away. It stays aggroed on the pet, but cant hurt it.
1:00 I'm pretty sure the last time you tamed one was in Ultimate Ark: Aberration. I remember because you were confused why you brought it to Genesis until you remembered they don't have an oxygen stat.
Not sure if anyone remembers or it’s been said already, but back in ASE there was a way to tame a basilisk where you would get negatively taming effectiveness and it would give a monster boost to the stats. Add that onto one with a high melee and it was insane. I rode one into an Overseer fight and the thing had like 6k melee damage, on official servers, which was just insane. Needless to say it wasn’t much of a fight at all, but I did manage to hit one of the drones with the gas ball and unfortunately for me the drone was right above me so I pretty much just killed myself. Good times on the old ASE servers.
Actually, Royal griffins in ark mobile breed and they lay eggs. But each griffin has a name that you can't change. They are royalty, so they only breed with other griffins that have the same last few litters in their name. (Also called of same house)
Random information, Vampiric also activates on the breath attack so you can suck health from a distance One of ours is named Wiggly woo, because there is a worm at the bottom of the garden
@Syntac i wanna mention that it is possible to perfect tame a Basilisk (at least it works like that in ARK 1 so maybe here too) quite easily without a trap. all things you need is a Bulbdog of any level, a foundation and your eggs. 1. place the Bulbdog on the ground and have him passive and not following you 2. place the Foundation ONTOP of the Bulbdog (i reccomend leaving the render distance real quick after this and comming back as sometimes the Bulbdog just phases through the foundation and gets pushed ontop of it, which means you gotta do the first 2 steps again) 3. place the eggs ontop of the foundation. 4. lure the Basilisk towards the Eggs and once he reaches it keep going for a bit until he looses aggro the Basilisk will try to attack the Bulbdog but will never reach him and since he´s too occupied to attack the Bulbdog he will never even think about burrowing. he´ll just keep attacking and once he wants to eat an egg, he will. also the Basilisk looses effectiveness whenever he TRIES to burrow. it doesn´t matter if he did or didn´t. whenever he tries he looses effectiveness
For your trap you have about 15 extra foundations, 4 extra quarter ceilings, and 36 to many walls. 1 foundation on top of a light pet, there is your trap. Just throw the eggs off the back of the drake and you'll be fine. You don't have to worry about it loosing aggro this way either. The drake flies entirely differently when it's overweight or close to it. You aren't going crazy there. Couple of videos back when you read to web down so you can right click again, and you forgot. Parachute would have worked as well pretty easily craft on the go. Then again so are wooden ladders...ah, I shouldn't have paused to type that, you made ladders. There ya go. There is nothing with hotboxing yourself, JS.
You doesnt even need the trap, just dismount from the Drake to aggro it and mount again, throw an egg and wait, he will not agro the Drake because it counts as a medium carnivore (Yeah, I know) so it will eventually aggro the egg, if it bury itself just repeat
I'm glad basilisks are breedable in base game now. We used to breed them thanks to the "Better Dino" mod, back on ASE. We fully mutated them and defeated the bosses. They're just great, indeed! And, now, with the traits! I can't imagine what we can do! Lot of things :D
@morrt8579 yup! I'm actually breeding a good base for a breeding pair. It's amazing doing it without mods My only complaint is that they still aggro on them everything. Gods! It's a giant snake! At least smaller creatures shouldn't attack it 🙃 maybe something of the size of a Carno should avoid it
Nooblets showed the perfect taming method... Drop a small tame and cover it with a foundation. Put eggs on the foundation. Aggro the basilisk and run past the foundation. It will aggro to the tame and eat the eggs.
take a light pet, place a foundation over the top of it(covering) place eggs on top. get aggro, lead to pet/foundation. watch it tame. It doesnt lose aggro.
I use to put a small tame (cosmo, or light pet) under the center foundation, put eggs on top of it. The basilisk will agro to the pet, and eat the eggs on top of it.
easy way we do it on offical is put 2 foundations over a shinehorn and drop the eggs on top of it. easiest tame on ab (but remember they aggro onto anything so clear the area first).
Call it Typhon, it is a giant mo ster un greek mythology who is the son of gaia and tartarus. Sometimes, it is portrayed as a hydra. This also just happens to be my snakes name
If you let go of W while gliding with the rock drake, you will not fall to the ground. Just hold shift the whole time, but make sure you are not looking up while doing this.
Losing some effectiveness isn't a big deal, syntac lost effectiveness as well. Just better to do it without a trap. It shows your a better player if you can do it without a trap as well
@@TTV_FoxQueen I won't say it makes you a better player, it's just a different playstyle. I play like Axeman, I almost never trap my tames unless necessary, like the Yi Ling '^^
Hey Syntac great vid dude! However, u could use 2 foundations and like one light pet and if u choose to do this merely place one foundation on top of one shoulder pet then after u place it down, throw the eggs in like the one next or on top of the foundation where the shoulder pet is under, finally run the basilisk and get it to the spot where u placed down the foundation with the shoulder pet and the eggs. U could draw agro from like a mount or on foot tbh...when it gets there it'll agro on the shoulder pet (which it'll never be able to hit...btw DON'T USE A COSMO! They don't seem to really notice them might be too small or some shit), as it agros on them it'll start eating the eggs and pretty easy tame tbh already done it with a 145 and a 150. Gl with ur next one! XD
Watched 3 of you guys tame a basilisk. Jim struggled on foot trying to use the light pet under foundation method but it didn’t really work & he lost a lot of taming effectiveness. Axe did it on a drake just dropping the eggs which was glitchy & he also lost a lot of levels. So the trap was definitely the easiest & most effective method even if some taming effectiveness was lost. Personally I used the light pet under foundation method to tame my first basilisk & it worked perfectly, not sure why it didn’t for Jim.
I feel the Yi-Ling is a much better option for "flying". It glides for ever, so get up high with a few dashes and you'll can travel really far. I haven't found a way to get very far on the Drake yet.
Really? I find drakes way better, maybe not in strictly mobility but there’s more to a regularly used tame than distance traveled or ease of movement. Drakes also aren’t targeted by things like raptors, scorpions, ravagers, and other small creatures. Plus they can go invisible to be ignored by everything. Drakes have better weight, more immediate damage, more health, and they’re actually really good at swimming. By the way what I do to maximize a drake’s glide is while in the air try to set them almost straight, I’ve glided across Valguero doing this and it’s not fast but it works
The only thing that really drains stam fast is staying buried, tried taming an Evo giga that way since it'll knock itself out trying to bite you but cant hurt you. Stam drained so fast just sitting there in the ground that i almost lost the basilisk. Luckily i was near water and was able to get away, once they sniff the giga hearts and challenge you to survive, they are absolutely relentless.
I actually weirdly like the mobile mechanics for griffin breeding. Every wild griffin has a name and you can only breed griffins that have the same last few letters (people used to call them surnames when I played so I guess it was like married couples lol). It could be a pain to find good ones that were compatible but it made it interesting and kept griffins fairly rare, especially since mobile didn't have custom servers so you were only playing with official rates and it took about a month to raise them.
Itd be real neat if the griffins had some kind of sexual dimorphism, like the males having a bigger mane of feathers. Also, it'd be real nice if the left click attack could be like a sarcos that let's you rotate mid-air.
Anyone saying to place a foundation on top of a light pet got lucky. It is asking for trouble with the pathfinding. The easiest taming method is to just let it bite a tanky creature and wear gas masks.. throw down eggs and you’re golden
You lost taming effectiveness because you trapped it. Best way to tame them is to put a foundation over a light pet or dodo that the basilisk aggros to. Well, Mineral Bearing isn't bad on basilisks, since they reduce stone by so much anyway.
I just facetank the basilisks with my Rock Drake and at times quickly dis and remount to keep aggro on me while it slowly eats the eggs. Tamed like 50 Basilisks at this point that way
On ark mobile griffins laid eggs, and to combat pvp abuse, they have extremely slow tame, breed, and growth rates. A baby griff takes a month i believe on an official server, base growth rates and assuming the server is never shut off. Its absolutely ridiculous

So what?@@atilaatila5175

Jörmungandr, also known as the Midgard Serpent, in Norse mythology. Ouroboros, a world serpent or dragon swallowing its own tail.

It's not just you concerning the Rock Drake, they are really weird to control right now.
I cant wait until Ragnarok is coming out, i want it nooow! Such a good map!
We got a 49 meele basilisk on official. Leveled it yelds almos 3k topor with each bite. very nice
The astreos creator is the man who made nothing other than fjordur and valguero
He made other thingd but man, theses maps are freaking bangers
Syntac u forgot to mention that the basilisk is amazing at knocking out creatures. So u dont have to craft arrows all the time
I hate when they needlessly nurf stuff in games
I mean a shoulder pet in a metal fountain still works
Honestly name a basilisk after types of sniper rifles like:
AS-50
Dragonov
Paladin
Best Video so far in the series.
I always scare other tribes when I go on meat runs definitely one of my favorite Dino’s in ark
6:50 Thats what she said.
I agree with you griffins are awesome
Anyone saying to place a foundation on top of a light pet got lucky. It is asking for trouble with the pathfinding. The easiest taming method is to just let it bite a tanky creature and wear gas masks.. throw down eggs and you’re golden
Or hazard helmet 😅
Very resource intensive way to get a Nope Rope but still a good one.
I mean griffins were breedable in the mobile version so they should be able to be bred in ragnarok.
So… drop the light pet, top with foundation, and put your eggs on the foundation. Easy-peasy.
"Today I am hoping to tame a Basilisk", said statement is following a clip of him riding the dino he is hoping to tame lol.
Name it after the world serpent in Norse mythology "Jormungandr"
Oh, the dreaded episode 35.
5 more till the next series ends boy's, enjoy what you can till we never return to this ark again.
So what if it ends with Ep40? We have almost done everything lol
18:10 how did he bring up camera controls like that?
The snaky guy name. dior,gone,mund,do,a
Name the snake base,ill,risk.
"I love basilisks ecpecialy now that they're breedable" Me: "doing my absolute best not to laugh"
@syntac on mobile when griffins breed they produce a golden egg to hatch :)
Basilisk name: Sweet Tooth!
basilisks as far as i can remember from ase where breedable it was the karkinos that wasnt
No they weren’t breedable unless you used mods
Basilisk name suggestion: Jimmy-Steve
syntac pleaseeee just wait before placing items, you're killing me lol
The hawk tuah girl’s real name is Haley. Just an idea
Love your videos
call him Jörmungandr it’s the world serpent
That looks like the same exact spot where Jim tamed his 150 Basilisk.
Griffins are breedable on Ark mobile🙊 they come out as a glowing golden egg 🍳
Hiii! Thanks for the video
Should have done a single foundation and a light pet for an instant tame
As it is green, my name suggestions are Snot Ball , Luggie or Phlegm lol
If you mutate it, keep it white, It looks awesome!
You lost taming effectiveness because you trapped it. Best way to tame them is to put a foundation over a light pet or dodo that the basilisk aggros to.
Well, Mineral Bearing isn't bad on basilisks, since they reduce stone by so much anyway.
That was a easy tame compared to Axe and Jim. ❤ Good content.❤
The world serpent is Jormungandr

I would call the basilisk, "Spitball"
You could’ve put all your eggs in a linked storage and then went on location with a new box and pulled it all out there
Rockdrake's were able to breed back in ark survival Evolved
Griffins are breedable on mobile and they lay eggs
Name it drake, cause its a very long snake💀💀
Either slimie or the worm lol
danger noodle is a classic name
In ark mobile..griffin do lay egg...they have golden egg..and its breedable...so hopely they will do the same for the griffin in ASA
Only if the overgrown snake Is tamed Then it will take radiation Damage That is what Google said
Oof you are cooking with Griffin breeding 😩 they would be forgiven of all ark sins and lag outs if they added griffin genders🙏
When axe tamed his his basilisk went into the ground a few times and I don’t think he lost effectiveness
Keep up the good work!!!!
