George you get such interesting stuff it's hard to pick a favourite . Those extra long pliers are for holding a mirror when looking at something when you need just more than arms length.
Hey Mike! I was pretty happy to find a brake..I don't know when I'll need it but I got one. You'll be seeing the Deox C on a lot of projects in the future..It's what i'll be using from now on. See ya Wednesday!
Hello Greg! I just couldn't pass it up for the price and if I need it I'll have it. I could have used it when I was making the wood burner surround.. Take care my friend.
George brother it appears you had a rust removal vacation! lol I agree that the handbook is awesome/ The sharp metal things in the box are lathe tooling. They were often custom shop made for specific jobs/ I have some my Grandfather made in WW2. Hope your return to work is easy and your week is awesome!!
Thanks Patrick! That's awesome that you have those from your Grandfather! I spent my whole vacation in the shop! Going back to work is never easy. Hope you have a great week Brother.
GEORGE You got some great tools.. I have several favorites. The Starrett case and the book and the machining cutting bits. Also that cutter. I would say it would be from maybe 30s or 40s. The handle looks like the same design as my dad's H.K.Porter bolt cutters from that time. They are wicked cool!
George nice haul. It is Nicopress. You can swage fittings on aircraft cable or electric wire depending on the markings on the jaw. There should be a letter by the jaw and that translates to size. I am guessing those are M or P. I have about 15 different pairs. I am a retired Union stagehand, used them all the time. My favorite are the battery powered ones. By the way I was looking for a way to get in touch I have a NOS Eagle flex neck oil can if you can it.
That break for 15 bucks is great find. I hope you clean up the Starrett box, anything Starrett is great to have. Fantastic finds this week. Thanks for sharing George
The brake is my favorite along with the Buck Bro. Chisels, I have a set of Buck Chisels but different color handles. I love the Dunlap I mean the J C Penney socket set. You got a lot of fantastic stuff in this haul. Have a good week brother.
Hey Mr. Dale! I know you love that Dunlap! Seriously I saw that JC Penney box with the Penn Craft and thought you would like it for your collection. We'll send it down to you shortly. Take Care Brother!
Hey George , hope you are well , I’d like to see a demo on the first item.😊. Nice little mix in that j c Penney box….The Starret box is totally awesome, beautiful. and the book…..wow . Get those crimpers restored and get em on the wall 😅 Those funky pliers are great…just the sort of stuff I pickup… I wish I could get more craftsman stuff over here …..great haul once again, my fave is the starret box ☺️
Hey Ant!! I wish I had that brake when I was doing the wood stove hearth! The JC penney box was a surprise never see them and of course the Starrett another surprise the funky pliers had to come home..They were just too weird to leave behind. I'll catch up with ya soon Buddy!
I really like the cool long curved pliers, handles are awesome, can’t wait to see them when you’re done with them. I was pretty excited about my own find this weekend, I got a coffing roller chain hoist for a couple of bucks, looking forward to cleaning it up.
Great haul, for me that book was an awesome find most don't survive. You should be able to piece that box for a full set, it would make a nice shelf queen. I was out of state and acquired a few things from flea market will do something in a couple weeks... Happy hunting
Hey Brother! the book was a surprise for sure. I am going to give the box a light restoration. Oh I'm curious to see what you found. Take care and see you later.
The pliers the bent head is used for going in tight places not a everyday tool but when need it it's great to have my favorite is the sterrett box and book
Thanks Larry! After i get them cleaned I'll put them with my just in case tools. The Starrett was a surprise find..I don't see too much of it in my price range. Take care.
Youre not the only one who feels compelled to buy tools bro. I have doubles and triples of almost everything...and i still like buying stuff. I NEVER pay anyone to fix anything...so i do actually use em. I guess my son will get a heck of a collection when i die.
Hey Robert! Well, it looks like we are in good company. I do have a few doubles and maybe triples..I also sell some and trade with my Buddies in other areas..I'm sure your son will appreciate it.
Another haul of cool tools. Getting all those Craftsman sockets for the price of the rails was a good deal. I also liked the curved nose needle nose pliers. I agree that the handle design is unusual. I never knew Craftsman made a dog bone wrench. I have seen imported cheapies and regarded them as gimmick tools. Thanks.
Hey Pat! I'm not a Craftsman guy I just pick it up for a buddy of mine he's a Craftaholic. Those needle nose are unusual and I hope I can find out more about them when I get them cleaned up. Take care Buddy.
Same here, nervous around lathes, so I don't have one, Those old crimpers are pretty darn cool, I hope you do a video on it. Must be adjustable wrench season! Great video!
For some reason I like those long nose pliers. Also the Craftsman dog bone and adjustable wrenches. I hope I'm not getting Dorky😂. Overall it's a great haul.
I believe the sheet metal brake is the 30” Harbor Freight or it’s equivalent. I have the smaller one, I picked up for a coup,e bucks. I’ve never used it, but there a couple videos about yours scattered around TH-cam. I would have liked to see what the interior of that Starrett box looks like, wondering what it originally held. I collect machinist tools.
Hey thanks for the information about the brake. I'm not sure when I'll ever use one but I got it. The price was just right for me. I'll try to remember to show the inside of that box in a later video for you. I thought I did in this one but I think it may have been one of the other takes I did. LOL sorry about that.
Picking a favorite tool is like picking your favorite son, having said that, the long pliers with the embellished handles and the old Craftsman adjustable wrench hit me in a good spot.
Thanks for checking out the haul. I appreciate it. I am very happy to find anything Starett and I'm still not sure if i need that brake but if I do I got it.
Great selection of tools bro. The long nosed plier things are my favourite. Remind me of the lambing tail dockers pliers we used back in the day, or the castration ring pliers. Yours isn’t one but reminds me of them. I think yours is just cool and will shine up beautifully. Love to your family and take care buddy.
Hey My Brother from Down Under! I have no clue what these do but I love them! I'm gonna get them cleaned up and hopefully figure them out. Love and big hugs to the family. Take care and it's gotta be getting warmer down there now.
That sheet metal brake for $15 is a good price. You're looking at at least $80 on the low end if it was new. Luck-ee! You know that old saying, it's better to have it and not need it than to need it and not have it. The sheet metal brake is my favorite. I have been wanting one for a while now. The Starrett stuff/collection was my next choice.
Hey Kid! I got a lot of just in case tools....But I actually think I might use this one sometime. LOL. The Starrett was a nice surprise find of the flea market trip. Take care Brother see ya later!
I wish that you had shown the rule. I have rules from many makers, but Starrett outclasses them all. Starret made many graduation variants and size variants, also rigid and flex. I have my favorites. The rules are pricey. The cutter bits are tool bits for lathe or shaper. They are held in tool holders for work presentation. The tool holders add presentation angle features. They are tool steel and are hand ground to the specific required features. Tool feature geometry is a class on itself. Material, surface speed, depth of cut, feed rate, and geometry all affect performance. The art of tool geometry is to transfer "all" of the cutting force heat into the chip instead of into the part or tool. I am only a hobby machinist. I have much to learn. It is easier for this novice to use carbide inserts, but there are places, materials, times, etc, when HSS is a better option. Quality tool steel blanks are pricey. China knock-off material is hit or miss. You didn't show the Starrett case long enough for me to know what it originally held. The quick wedge tools are pretty much obsolete, but I have many of them. The design was simply the best screw holder design that I have ever used. Vintage machinery still has flat slotted hardware. Electrical harware has shifted to Roberts head, which is much more user-friendly. I routinely misapplied quick wedge on live electrical wirk to prevent dropping hardware until NFPA 70E was eventually enforced in my workplace. The quick wedge design was licensed to other tool brands. I have Klein, Bluepoint and probably Vacco variants. I think that Balinator dud a video on this tool. I own many size and length variants. Klein versions fancied up the slide handle. I have black, maroon, red, green, blue handles in a mix of solid and translucent colors. I still occasionly use mine. They are great for starting recessed harware like cheese head carburetor hardware, furniture hardware, electrical terminal hardware and gib adjustment screws.
Hello Paul. I'll try to show the box and rule again in a future video so you can get a better look at it. I knew you would have a lot of great information on the bits. I never used the quick wedge screw driver but I can see how it can be useful. Take care my friend.
Great finds George! I've been looking for that nicopress tool. I came across a hoard of the sleeves a while back but didn't get the tool with it. If your willing to trade for it, let me know.
Hey Bother! Great finds once again! I think the long-bent tool may be a medical tool spreader. Take a look at 'Lamina spreader neurosurgery tools'. How was the vaca btw? Take care George!
George Love the little press break buddy That baby is a home run Home run all the way around the bases I also like that plastic case that you said was missing a couple of tools That thing looks like it could be a fun little thing for little projects As far as that weird shaped pliers In Minnesota We call them fishing pliers As far as they're real I don't know Like I always brother Keep the faith Rock on
Hey Les! I couldn't leave that brake behind especially for the price and i'm sure one day I'll use it at least once. I'll get those pliers cleaned up and hopefully we'll figure out more about them but fishing pliers makes sense to me.
Hey Buddy! I don't know when I'll need that brake but I'll be glad to have it and for the price I had to bring it home. Those pliers are one of the weirdest things I've brought home in a while.
Hay there l am looking to complete a Herbrand socket set do you ever come across any love the pencraft set looking for 3/8 metric also man you find a lot of cool stuff
Hey Don, Thank You! No I didn't build my shop.. I had it built a few years ago. I did the electrical and the 1x12 's on the walls and all the shop benches and work stations.
Hey !George vraiment de belles trouvailles. J'aime beaucoup le truc pour plier le métal, la clé en forme d'os n'est pas mal. La pince retourner doit être de 1700 -1800 cela doit être une pince pour chirurgien sur les champs de bataille. LOL. 😂❤
Hey Patrick! The brake will be handy one day I'm sure. Those forceps?pliers? are just plain unusual and I'll get them cleaned and hopefully we will figure out what they are for. Take care Buddy!
George Anything Starrett At the right price cannot be turned down you're like me when I like something I buy it WHETHER I'm going to use it or not, but I will try to sell it at my price Can't get the price VOILA you got to keep it. eagle PS what did you pay for the buck brothers chisels good seller on ebay
Hey Robert! Starrett isn't something I get to pick up very often so it was a nice surprise. I have a few tools that I might not use but keep them around just in case and a few that when I list them I'm ok if they don't sell. I paid $5 for the Buck Brothers.
Cool little metal break! Nice set of buck brother chisels! I like the Starrett box, rule and book. Awesome picks this week overall! Question…do you sell local up there or do you sell on eBay or some other online site? Hope y’all have a great week!
Does that new rust remover you are using leave the same kind of blackened material behind like Evaporust does? Also how do you think it compares to evaporust?
I haven't gotten my solution dirty enough yet to get that black residue. I have done well over 40 wrenches so far in that container and it's still going strong. I tell you what, I'll be the first to tell you I've always used evaporust but in my area it's hard to get and very expensive. The link in my description is for the same container I have. That makes 5 US gallons for about the same price as 1 gallon of evaporust. I personally believe so far it works the same , is cheaper and lasts a bit longer.
I am actually using Deox C, It is a fantastic rust remover and it cost a lot less. I can get 5 gallons worth for under $50. So it's about 5x less expensive than evaporust. It just makes financial sense to use it instead. If you are interested there is a link in the description.
The correct spelling is BRAKE. I don't know the spelling derivation, and it has always annoyed me since it seems that you more likely break a part rather than brake it. I married a wordsmith. She has forced me into nerdy fettish for correct spelling.
Nice finds, like the chisels, the the screw driver, thanks for the update, enjoyed watching.
Thanks Terry! I appreciate ya checking in and glad you enjoyed the video.
Nice grab at the sale. Great set of tools. 👍
Thank You!
I found a bagel on the counter this morning. Favorite
Second favorite of the day would be this video.
Awwww..Thanks Buddy!
George you get such interesting stuff it's hard to pick a favourite . Those extra long pliers are for holding a mirror when looking at something when you need just more than arms length.
You might be right Jim! I have had people say they are a medical related tool. 🤣🤣🤣
You have some great finds. That tool set is the cats Pajamas. Need to find the missing tools.
Hey Bonney Mack! Ya I'll be on the look out for them.
Awesome haul! I will have to say the sheet metal break is my favorite. Hope to see the Deox-C work on that wrench. Thanks again and see you Wednesday.
Hey Mike! I was pretty happy to find a brake..I don't know when I'll need it but I got one. You'll be seeing the Deox C on a lot of projects in the future..It's what i'll be using from now on. See ya Wednesday!

Awesome stuff... Love the Starrett machinist book.. stay safe dude..
CC!!!!!! Thanks brother it was a nice surprise to find it. Usually anything Starrett is outta my price range or snapped up before I can get to it.
Hey Stephen! The Starrett was quite a surprise to find and the cutter was just too cool to leave behind. Take care my friend.
Those pilers with cool handles look like they be used to pull out some innards but the handle alone Win this week... nice haul brother
Thanks Big Brother! Those things are funky and I'm thinking they'll clean up nice. I don't think I got anything with those style handles.
George nice haul. It is Nicopress. You can swage fittings on aircraft cable or electric wire depending on the markings on the jaw. There should be a letter by the jaw and that translates to size. Sheet metal brake is fun!
I couldn't pass it up for the price , I'm not sure if I'll ever need it but I got it !
Love to see a restore on that Starrett box! “I just couldn’t pass it up for $” is the tag line for our sickness!
Hey John! Isn't that the truth! LOL..I'm just gonna give the box a light clean and blend in the scratches.
Hey George , hope you are well
, I’d like to see a demo on the first item.😊. Nice little mix in that j c Penney box….The Starret box is totally awesome, beautiful. and the book…..wow .

Hey Todd, They are quite unique..I've never seen anything like them and can't wait to get them shined up. That's a great score on the hoist!

Thanks Dan! I was happy to find the SK My work one has about had it and I know the SK's will last a while.
Nice haul.

Thanks Brother! The Starrett was a surprise find. I don't see the boxes too often. Take it easy Brother.
Another haul of cool tools. Getting all those Craftsman sockets for the price of the rails was a good deal. I also liked the curved nose needle nose pliers. I agree that the handle design is unusual.
Hey brother! Thanks! It was a mixed bag of finds this week..a few surprises for sure. I don't do ebay I just sell local and trade with my buddys.
No evaporust?
I am actually using Deox C, It is a fantastic rust remover and it cost a lot less. I can get 5 gallons worth for under $50. So it's about 5x less expensive than evaporust. It just makes financial sense to use it instead. If you are interested there is a link in the description.
If you use the break 1 time you broke even on that buy.
Hey Yadda! That's kinda what I thought too.
Long bent needle nose pliers.
Except they open instead of closing. Retaining ring tools have a much shorter fulcrum. I wonder if it isn't a medical or surgical tool.
@@paulhunt598 I don't know but someone else suggested that. I'll see if I can find anything about them.
The correct spelling is BRAKE. I don't know the spelling derivation, and it has always annoyed me since it seems that you more likely break a part rather than brake it.
I married a wordsmith. She has forced me into nerdy fettish for correct spelling.
That does make more sense .
