Hi George - yet another great haul. Can't wait for a Crab Catching video, and YES PLEASE, do a video about your 'weird' collections. I'm sure we all have them - we are all individuals with different tastes - that's what makes the world a fun place. I love the scales - I remember similar ones in Hardware Stores when I was a child - MANY moons ago ! Thanks George for sharing your 'finds' with us. Take care 🙂
Hey Michael, Thank You. I'm gonna try my best to get a crabbing video out. The big issue is taking time off of work when my older boys can too.. I'm always on call for my job. I'll show some of my collections in the future while I'm rearranging my shop. The hardware store in my town still uses one of these scales.
Great haul & let's go crabbing,, love the metal boxes, I've got an incurable itch for small metal & wood boxes & ammo cans, if for nothing else the usefulness I find a job for everyone of them, recently picked up a 50cal can I'd never seen before & I truly thought I'd seen them all, good picking out there!
Thanks Mike! Ya man it's always cool finding something that you haven't seen before. Keeps ya going out looking for the treasure. I had a ton of ammo cans traded off a lot of them. I'm always picking up any cool looking boxes I see.
Hey Michael! We're gonna try to get out there sometime in July. if I can get a day off when my kids don't have to work. I'll get to the scales eventually....Still working on the mower.
There was one thing that I notices on the military awl. There was a wedge shape in the middle of the stamping. I've seen that before and that is a British Broad Arrow designating British military. That is wicked cool. I got a folding fences cutter which was from 1944 that had that same broad arrow logo on it.
Thank You Stephen! Nice find on the fence cutter! I'll check into the logo. That is pretty cool. I appreciate you guys always sharing information like that with me.
Keen Kutter and Blue Grass ya can't go wrong with Mr. George! Those Keen Kitter finds at them prices is just crazy wow! Those folks didn't know what they had! Great Haul!
Thanks Big Brother! I think these folks just have way too much stuff. They have been new at the Market. Really nice I think they are actually looking to move south.
I don’t know what the red thing is, but it looks like a small Portable anvil, it’s pretty cool . Nice SK socket set too , but wow, that cutlery set is incredible 🇬🇧🇺🇸
Another awesome haul my brother. Keen Kutter stuff is really cool, Great deal on the saw blade, and the Davey Jones Lock is awesome. Can't wait to see the crabbing video.
The plastic oil cans were short lived. In warmer weather the can would buckle when pushing a spout in. My dad had a Texaco from 1966 till 1987 . He would use a can opener on the plastic cans.
You are a magnet for cool stuff. You must go to the best flea markets in the world. Everything from crab traps to Keen Kutter cutlery. I think the military tool you identified as a mattock is actually a military version of what in the West is known as a Pulaski. It was named after a hero Forest Service ranger who invented it. He saved the lives of his men during an absolutely devasting forest fire in 1910 that burned a big part of northeast washington, north Idaho and northwest Montana. Ames Tools may have made your tool. The company made military implements like this for many years. I find the company name on WW 2 Army entrenching shovels. You found many nice bargains. The Craftsman sockets are six point ( which seem to have a better grip to me) compared to the much more common 12 pointers. I also like the oil spout. You are right about the transitional plastic oil can. It came after metal, then paper and before plastic bottles. I have only seen a few. Your can was a bargain. Petroliana has gotten way too expensive for me.
Pat you are the Man! Pulaski that's the name I was looking for! I did this video about 6 times and every time I called it something different because I couldn't think of it. I don't think I have any Ames shovels but I do have 2 diamond Calk entrenching tools. We have some really big flea markets here and for the most part the one's we visit are still true markets but the new stuff is creeping in. You are right Petroliana has gotten pretty pricey. Thank you again for the information!

George, what are you gonna do with a razor hone????? LOL Think of the expense of shaving cream!! Not to mention the sunburn on cheeks and chin!! LOL ( my beard is almost as long as yours) I have a set of Keen Kutter shears in my workbench drawer that i got from my Grandmother. They are Awesome but the silver set is just TOO COOL!! Have a great Sunday!
Hey Patrick, I never said I was gonna use the razor hone. LOL! . I got a free trim from the combo sander a while back. I"m gonna send the hone and the silver to my buddy. He loves Keen Kutter. Everything I've had keen kutter is fantastic quality. Take care my bearded brother.
George, Love the SK set! I want to say it's 1980-ish from the plastic insert tray and the tag in the lid ($31.96!). Keen Kutter items are always a good find. Anyone that doesn't know the company history I say go look it up. Time well spent. I still have no idea who chose the scissors I donated to Scoutcrafter's Jacktown raffle. Were there any weights with that scale? George
Hey George, You are right about the Keen Kutter history! I spent hours reading about them It's amazing what they were into. No plate weights with the scale. I'll be keeping my eye out for them. I don't know who got the scissors either. Maybe John took them back home.. You know he loves scissors..LOL!
@@Uwannawatch Those scissors I picked up in an auction back in March. An old carpenter's tool chest full of AWESOME tools for...$20. They didn't close completely and were on the dull side, so I gave them to John to work his magic on them with the intent of making them a raffle item. He was very reluctant to work on them because he knew they were collectable. I found a 1939 Keen Kutter catalog online and then they were priced at $1.59 back then. I think I enjoy more finding tools and finding out their history the most. I am a tool nerd. lol

That Keen Kutter silverware set is awesome!
Thanks! I was blown away when I found that and for $10. No way I wasn't gonna pick it up!
The SK set hard to get I'm sure you the missing parts😊
Thanks Richard. I got a thing for SK . I'm pretty sure I any missing bits in my hoard.
George,
Love the SK set!
I am a tool nerd.
lol

there isn't anything wrong with that at all. I think it's awesome. I wish I had more time to learn about all the tools and history. I work a full time job, have a family and a house to care for. I barely have time to put out videos. But I do enjoy it and have met a lot of nice people since I started my channel. Send me an e mail if you don't mind so we can have a way to contact each other.

Thank you! I appreciate that! I'm gonna try to get a better look at it before I stash it away.
3:27 What?! Not for your radial arm saw?🧐
Nope, No radial arm saw. I've got a 10 table saw.
Fifteen dollars for the scale!!!!?!???! Something like that sells for $75 to $150 around here!
I got a pretty good deal on the scale and the brown one from another trip to the market I got 2 scales in the last couple of trips to the flea market. It's funny how things pop up and then disappear.
where is the flea market at ?
New Jersey
Another awesome haul. I never knew Keen Kutter offered so many different tools and also silverware.
Thank You. I found a lot of information online about them. They were into a lot of different stuff. It's amazing what all they made.
