G…The mess kit if stamped US is like the one I carried during the Viet Nam era. The frying pan part , if you were getting a hot meal , was for the main course. The other part had potatoes on one side and a veg on the other. The ring went over the handle to keep them together so the wouldn’t spill. Missing is the fork and spoon. They had holes in the handle that slipped on the frying handle with the divided section ring and all was dipped in boiling water to wash after eating. When all came out of the boiling water it air dried very quickly. I don’t remember a knife…..maybe we just used a bayonet.

The Marples were my favorite. I thought those sponges were pretty cool too. So many and so compacted for really easy and efficient storage. You know how storage is always at a premium in the workshop.

More storage options! 👍🏻Those old flashlights are a throwback for me. Eveready and Ray O Vac were the most common. Man flashlights have come a long way. Those big Maglites are even obsolete. All the Cops carried those! My favorite are the Protos. Marples are cool cause like you said you don't even see them out there. Hope you get the pipe for your stove soon. Love this cooler weather! Mike,Mike,Mike! The wife still rides with one of those Maglites in the Jeep. The screwdrivers were cool surprise finds and I'll be set for winter in a couple of weeks. Those cabinet screwdrivers are a rare find, especially for the price. The flashlights are great. I still use an Eveready Captain and like it. Unless they are battered, the Rayovac bullet flashlight seem to be on the pricey side in my area. Must be the Flash Gordon retro styling. Id say you had a good flea market day. Everything you got is cool, useful and best of all, a bargain.

The torches were also required kit and I recall one very similar to your “light saber” torch that I had. I think I killed it by beating to death some very large bush spiders in our tent one night. 😂 I bought a Mag Light after that which I still have. Unkillable torch. The box of parts organisers will come in handy. My shed is full of them and parts drawers holding more hardware than I’ll ever use. At least it’s all well organised and catalogued so the kids can get rid of it after I’m gone. Take care brother. Love to the family from us.

The metal flashlights took me back to my grandparents houses. Flat back to one and the bullet back to to the other. I lost my RA torch in Bosnia, I got it from a US soldier , when we were broken down and had to go to a US camp. Those wood handled Marples screwdrivers are lovely and are the best find in this haul by a loooong way……awesome. the craftsman knife is cool….. the screwdrivers make up for the lack of spanner’s 😂😂🇬🇧🇺🇸🍻

Good morning from Birmingham, England. Love the mess kit, my Action Man had one the same…military issue?? I lost my RA torch in Bosnia, I got it from a US soldier , when we were broken down and had to go to a US camp. Those wood handled Marples screwdrivers are lovely and are the best find in this haul by a loooong way……awesome. the craftsman knife is cool….. the screwdrivers make up for the lack of spanner’s 😂😂🇬🇧🇺🇸🍻
