Hey George, I have a pipe wrench from Spain and I have used it quite frequently. I have not had any problems with mine, good luck with yours. I have the same hack saw and I bought it at a flea market (where I buy most of my hand tools.) Another good video, keep them coming. Thank you.
Thanks for letting me know that. I'm going to see how it holds up at work. I can't complain about it for the price I got it for. I am glad I spotted that hack saw and could bring it home. Thank you for tuning in. I really appreciate it.
Hi Pat, It's been a rough winter. I think things are gonna be picking back up soon. We are getting some warmer weather coming up. I'm happy I could find a few treasures to bring home. Take care and hope you have a good rest of your Sunday.
Hi Kid, I'm happy to have the scrapers they will come in handy at my job I don't think I'll have to buy anymore for a long time and maybe we'll clean a couple up just for fun. Take care and thanks for checking in.
I was thinking the whisk would be for stirring shellac, or you were gonna start cooking on your wood stove! lol Another idea for the vise grips could be to make a portable vise. add a spring and weld a c clamp to it. Hope you are having a grand weekend, be safe and keep warm brother!
Hey Patrick, You never know we might have a wood stove cooking episode, LOL. That's a clever idea for the grips. It's warming up this week so I'm sure we'll be finding leaks. Take care and hope you have a light week.
Thanks Ed, It's been a tough go for tool hunting this winter, I am happy I found a few things to bring home. Take care and thanks for checking in. I appreciate it.
Nice pile of goodies, at a flea market in January about how many vendors do you have to pick from? Take care brother, I showed Holly your get to know you challenge she asked is Chrissy ever on. I then played her one of your camping trips. She said next time you chat say hi to Chrissy for me. 7:10
Hey my Brother from the North! Right now it's less than 10 vendors but things are gonna be picking up soon. We are getting some warmer weather coming in. Ya I don't let Chrissy in too many videos she's a rock star and steals the show LOL. Tell Holly hello from Chrissy! Take care and I'll catch up with ya soon.
You did pretty good, the price is right. I like the hack saw.I like the wisk too should be a nice wall hanger in the kitchen. Not sure about the wrench from Spain. I haven't had good luck with them. Have a good week and stay warm.
Hey Mr. Dale! I can't complain about the price but I'll sure be happy when the Market picks back up. The whisk was just an impulse buy but I'm sure it'll be put in the Kitchen somewhere. I'll see how that wrench does at work. Take care Brother and I'll get up with ya soon.
I know why you grabbed the old whisk cause it is old an looks cool- definite nice decor with an old porcelain container- I see a few things coming together for that. 😁 Nice haul love the scrapers I don't see many older ones. I too am guilty with the wrenches somehow they follow me home.
Hey Brother, Yes I see many "accessories" being brought home in the future. I'm pretty sure I don't need anymore scrapers but you know if they are cheap I'll bring them home! 😅 It's funny how wrenches just show up and they multiply! Take care and hope you have a great week.
Thanks Mr. John! I'm happy that I could find a couple of things to bring home and I can't complain about the price. Take care and I'll catch up with you soon.
Thanks Mike, I'm happy that I could find some things to bring home. It's hard picking right now but the markets should pick up soon. Hope you all are doing good . See ya Wednesday.
Thanks Mike, I'm telling you it's slim pickings right now. I am happy i found a few things to bring home and i can't complain about the price. Hopefully it'll pick up soon I'm so over this Winter.
Hey Kurt! Not a big haul but we also didn't pay too much. Slim pickings out there but I think things are picking back up I'm gonna cruise over and check out your haul later. Busy weekend around here.
Sears sold this hacksaw mid 1970's-mid 1980's. I owned several, because they were inexpensive compared to a similar Greenlee. It was shorter than the common steel framed saws of that era, which fit easier into the small toolboxes that I used then. It also stored spare blades in the frame tube, and allowed 90° blade mount. The drawback was that the rear plastic blade cover was prone to easily breaking spilling the spare blades. I exchanged my saw frame regularly until Craftsman radically changed the design. I never liked the revision, and upgraded to a high-quality frame option. The Craftsman was a very comfortable design. The undersized blade tension knob required plier assistance. Lennox offered a front jab saw feature and 45° blade offset by then, better blade tensioning system, and the premium makers were copying and improving professional hacksaw frame designs. I upgraded to Sandvick. I recently found this old Craftsman design and a Lennox at a flea market. I purchased both for nostalgic reasons, and that I still find handsawing occasionally is more appropriate than modern power methods. My Craftsman find was missing the blade pins. The blade was so rusted/corroded in place that I failed to see this when I purchased it. I cleaned mine up, machined new blade pins, and it hangs as a trophy, reminding me of my early career. I kept very few of my entry-level Craftsman tools, but I am still partial to that hacksaw frame. It was my only frame after a truck drove over my starter Proto frame from given to me in 1972 when I was 14. It is funny to me that I occasionally still find a hankering for some of the vintage Craftsman tools. They were low quality compared to professional brands in durability and function, but they long honored the liberal exchange replacement warranty, making them a highly prized brand name for the DIY guy. I got frustrated with the brand as a professional. I made weekly stops at Sears to exchange damaged and broken tools, which became very disruptive on the jobsite. Premium tool costs skyrocketed my investment costs, but radically improved job performance effectiveness and ease. I abandoned Craftsman around 1980, but I still like this hacksaw frame! I desire that my sons and grandsons don't have to struggle with non professional tools like I started with. I made it my mission to gift them professional tools beginning at 2 years old. I am buying for 28 now, with one more in the oven. My budget is larger than it used to be. I have a source for new tool over purchases for the trade school market. I hit up this seller once or twice a year. I dropped $1000 yesterday on a large haul of Klein, Vaughn, Matco and Bluepoint yesterday. It made my wife (who rode along) cringe, but I am loaded up with Christmas and birthday gifts now into next year, and all new in the package stock. George loves salvaging beater tools. I enjoy what he find and saves. I pass on his passions, but this Craftsman hacksaw would have been a treasured find.
Pretty good haul there! Like the hacksaw, I've got a Snap on one that looks identical, apart from having black handles, it's a nice saw. Have a good week buddy👍🏻
Thanks Brother! I don't think I'll have to buy any more scrapers for a while. LOL. You know me I'm not gonna pass up a good deal on wrenches. Hope you have a great week and take care.
Hi Brendan, I have a small collection of hack saws. I don't know why I collect them. They are a handy tool and I use them quite often at work. Thanks for tuning in I appreciate it.
Hopefully the handles are not cracked or broken on the hacksaw, if they are in good shape its going to make a great uwannawatch restoration! Thanks for sharing, good haul for the money.
Hey Mike they are really handy tools, I think I'm pretty well set for them now. But that doesn't mean I won't pick up more if they are cheap. LOL. Take care and see ya next time.
The whisk was one of those I want it now what am I gonna do with it things. LOL. I can't complain about the price and I'm happy I found some things to bring home but Man I can't wait for the market to pick up.
That hacksaw was exactly the one we had when I was growing up! I would say my favorite item is the giant wisk. It looks so well made. Did you look closely at it to see if there is a makers mark?
I did OK for the price but I seriously can't wait for the weather to turn and the Market to pick up. Take care and thanks for checking in! I really appreciate it!
That’s a decent amount of tools for little money. Personally everything except the wrenches would be a winner in my book. Great to see you having a good time at the markets and fooling around in the shop. Love to all buddy.
Hey Brother! it's so slow out at the Market right now. We still enjoy getting out and seeing our friends there. Things should start picking up soon. Take care and give our love to the family and a big hug for you and the Missus.
The band saw..... I now wonder if the band saw will cut kindling for the stove..... ....Yeah I know...I just couldn't focus....to pay attention. Keep thinking about the band saw.
