    I just watched this for the first time today. Wonderful tutorial as always. Have to tell you a funny story though.....One time I embroidered a cute tshirt for my granddaughter, and I accidently used the stitch and seam product instead of stabilizer. It was quite the surprise when I went to press the shirt after it was finished! Live and Learn, I suppose!

    The sample you steamed reminds me of smocking. Very cool looking.

    Awesome! This inspires me to practice some FMQ without an actual quilt sandwich and then use the fabric for this.

    Hi Vanessa I am new to your channel and I am so glad I found you! You are a great teacher on how to sew anything and I will be watching your teaching instructions to learn to sew. My husband just bought me a new sewing machine so I can learn to sew all kinds of projects. So far I am learning a lot, thanks to your channel. Audrey

      Audrey Martinez a few years ago she taught me to quilt with her 12-block video quilt along. She hooked me and reeled me in, it’s addicting but nobody wants to find a cure.

    Thanks. . so needed to understand installing zipper! ✔ I measured the zippers I have! Only 9 inches would you reduce fabric squares ..or make tabs larger?

    Hi Vanessa,
    I just finished two of the Duo zipper bags for a secret santa gift. I will post the pics to your facebook or instagram as soon as I figure out posting to instagram ( new to me). I just placed an order for the stitch and steam because none of my local quilt stores carry it and I really wanted to try this out today. Thanks for the new project. Is there something else comprable that does the same thing out there (Pellon product or some other interfacing)?

    Hi
    I’m a little confused about the zipper tabs on this project. Are they sewn at all on the ends or not and if they aren’t then does it leave a tiny gap there when you turn it rightside out? TIA!

    Love the pouch & the shrinky stuff! Is there a reason to sew up the sides on the zipper ends? They get caught up between the lining & main fabric when sewing the zipper in so I don't see the need to have them finished beforehand. I might be missing something!

    • @sweetp285
      @sweetp285 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Less bulk in the seam and a flat finish :)

  • @Alaskaraised
    @Alaskaraised 5 ปีที่แล้ว

    This is a cool product. I don't use steam in my irons. Can you sprits the fabric piece with water and get the same effect? I don't mind putting water in my iron when using this particular product?

    • @brendafoley6995
      @brendafoley6995 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      You may try microwaving water to boiling. . carefully hold fabric over steaming water!

    • @TheCraftyGemini
      @TheCraftyGemini  5 ปีที่แล้ว +7

      Nothing. It will stay the same. The product is already shrunk and stitched to the fabric so that's it. Hope that helps. :)

    This looks so COOL!! I just got 2 packs! About how much will it shrink? 50%? 30%? If I am making my Kelly Cross bag how many inches should I add let say to the outer pocket?

    • @DvotedWife
      @DvotedWife 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Up to/about 30% according to the the back of a package I saw as well as the description on one of the websites where it's sold. There's even a chart on the back of the package (example cut 25 inches for 18 inches after shrinkage). I did additional research, but I ordered from Vanessa.
