Oh gosh :O Same issue here! One neighbour brought it to our attention and accused the neighbours downstairs (appartment building) and then all of a sudden the bastards started popping up all over the place! Absolutely vile
I 100% feel your pain right now, i worked on my parents's printer this week, same problem.. the smell is so bad ... the metal parts get coroted, and the "filth" from these bugs covers the sensors in some impossible spot to get my hands into, not mentioning the proper cleaning tools are not available so i had to use alcohol
could someone explain to me why they send this xbox to be cleaned rather than buying a new one? How much does it cost to send it to get cleaned, cause i could not imagine doing this for less than the price of a new xbox.
It's a nice warm, dark house for a bug to live since the console is usually in sleep mode creating a little bit of heat. Bugs leave the console to eat any food they can find when it's dark and then go back and make babies. Turning your console off completely is a good way to discourage bugs from living in your console. Keeping a clean place with no food for the bugs to get to will make the environment unlivable for the bugs.
Yep exactly especially those gamers that like to eat in their room and leave their food/trash right next to the console that's like setting those roaches up a hotel with room service!
i mean if you leave it wrapped up securely like that for a few days it should in theory kill off any bugs inside because they won’t have any way to escape find food or water and will also have limited oxygen
I opened a PS4 Pro where they were all dead, had at least 50 in the heat sink. At that point you KNOW that person who originally owned the console had an infestation problem, that smell is still burned into my head. Thank god I had a buddy help me pull it apart safely outside, that was a 2 man job and that console has been fully clean for almost 2 years now 😎👏🏻
Not sure if you WANT it but I have pics and a story from dealing with the exact same thing on an X-Box Series X. I was more interested in getting it fixed versus taking pics but still have a couple. They were NOT dead when I got it in. Fumigated by sealing it in a cooler with a bunch of isopropyl alcohol for a few days. Which killed 90%+ but not all. Very similar look inside.
I had got a used ps5 for Christmas and have been having temperature to the point it would just shut off so I took the shell off to see if the fan was not spinning correctly and there was a dead cockroach with the fan cord I don't have the proper tools to take it apart and have been looking into places to get it fixed I hope it's nothing like this
I grew up with roaches I thought they were normal in the house when I was little. Lol. lucky for you ;you got that third one the one you said it was bigger it was actually carrying an egg.(the elongated capsule)
I got a ps4 slim and it was infested and i tried to repair it outside and clean it and I said NOPE when in the hard drive slot were a ton of live critters
I have lived in 2 apartments with neighbors that gave me bed bugs and roaches so this gave me flashbacks that being said this was bad even when I was dealing with that I knew how to keep them at bay from my consoles it's like this person just let them come in with open arms 🤢
My friends PC was messed up and he didnt know why so with me being a good friend i told him bring it to me and i know a shop near by. He brings it and i set it in my room. A day later noticed a roach in my room. I never had them before so i killed it. The next day i took the PC to the shop and they said it was infested. They killed them all and charged my friend 75$. Long story short my wife wont let me Bring random things in the house anymore
I used to work at a video game store we would get those in like that all the time if you get you a good sealed container or a fish tank you can use a fogger to kill them all without having the need to spray them. We would remove a part of the housing and put the console in and turn the fogger on.
Being from the uk cockroaches are none existent here and I would be shocked seeing a console infested like that the most I’ve had to deal with was cleaning a nintendo 64 that had a few living house spiders of which a majority were dead other than spiders small moths are most common to be found in consoles here
Question, I found some broken cockroach eggs on the storage socket of my series S and some of the brown mark they leave behind, I immediately clean it with IPA and been monitoring it ever since. It doesn't smell like cockroaches but I'm a little worry after watching this, is there anything I can do to make sure it was just on the outside. I live in an apartment and even if try to keep it as clean as possible those pesky bastard always show around from time to time.
Dealt with that fear myself when I moved out from those infested wall-rotten apartments I used to live in. Quarantined all of my consoles inside a vacum-sealed plastic container for 4 straight months. I accounted for them surviving up to 10 days without water (if the lack of oxygen in a week didn't get them) + 3 months in case they laid eggs in their last and 10th day of life (their eggs take about 90 days to hatch), and another 10+ or so days for good measure in case of any newly hatched nymphs... Hardest 4 gaming-less months of my life, but freacking worth it, knowing and making sure there were no life bugs inside my consoles after the move out. German roaches are no joke. You take a stowaway with you, and they make your newfound living place a goddam nightmare. It's been two years now, and I still get ptsd from watching videos like this.
I would soak heat sink in ipa. And also I'd get a cheap ozone generator and and build a small chamber to vent when done, ozone destroys orders and anything organic. Would most definitely get the smell out whether it's smoke or roaches
When you accidentally lost the sync button did you freak out like i did , for future reference if you ever worried about smell have alcohol and vinegar ready, use the vinegar on a tooth brush to scrub it and use the alcohol to make sure its all good to go. Iv done it to me consoles when i used to live in bug infested home
If there was ever a part in one of these videos that screamed run me through an Ultrasonic cleaner it would be that heatsink. IF anything will get it clean that would be it flood it with a foaming cleaner or similar and run it through the ultrasonic.
I moved into a house full of them in Australia. Watched them kill a TV, fridge, washing machine and dishwasher. Took me over a year to eventually get rid of the entire infestation
Bit random and idk if I will get an answer ,but is it possible for the orange tape to get hard? I remember my xbox 360 having problems with putting the disc back outside so I would slap it. Eventually when cleaning it orange plastic fell out and honestly no clue what it was and nothing besides discs ever got shoved in there.
Invest in a very high end ultrasonic tank and you could clean that heat sink very easily. I disassemble some fans and toss them into the tank and they are odor free and work like new as long as they dry correctly.
I had a similar situation myself I purchase a Dreamcast off of my personal offer eBay and it had a bunch of roaches in it luckily I took it in my backyard and cleaned out but boy that thing had a high roaches in it I don't know how how people could be so quick to sell stuff when they have an infestation problem
I have been through this cleaning my nephews game systems out over the years. I always used the alcohol wipes and toothbrush. I have not been into gaming for over 10 yrs. I am looking into getting a series x. Is it worth it!
im currently watching this in my dorm room and there's a spider in here somewhere, I looked away for a second and poof, it was gone. Now im grossed out on every level imaginable.
Spider are ugly and i fear them bud they kill all gross insects Cockroaches Mosquitoes they fight for us 😂 and they come not to 100000 only the bigger ones
Even after the clean, idk if I would use it. There’s so many crevasses etc to get everything 100 percent. Great job on the clean and great assessment on the power supply and heat sink ! I will definitely subscribe
I let my sister hold onto and use my Xbox One when I went off to basic seven years ago. Came back to me the following March absolutely plagued with roaches. I never took it apart myself, but for several weeks after getting it back, roaches would come out, and I would kill them as I saw them. It finally stopped, and I'm sure to this day that there were a LOT of roach bodies still in there for the rest of its life. Surprisingly, I had very few issues with it it's entire life after that.
It would also help to quarantine the console. Keep it wrapped and sealed in a air tight container for at least a month. Roaches need water to survive and eventually all of them would die. Would make cleaning it alot easier and safer.
I have a step dad who is a chain smoker and had a roach problem and he asked me to clean his pc tower cuz he knew I was into tech stuff and told him before that i'd clean it out for him for some cash. Worst Idea Ever, it was the worst experience I've ever had the smell alone haunted me for months.
I don’t know if people would agree that it’s more gross, but I used to clean and repair chromebooks at a high school, and I would get some pretty gross Chromebooks. I did get one with roaches, but I told the school administrators I WOULD NOT clean those and they understood. The grossest I came across was one that smelled like it had milk spilled on it. It was either that or vomit because spoiled milk smells like vomit to me but I didn’t see any chunks so I would have to say it was milk. No milk on the board so I was able to clean it and get it back to the kid, but definitely something that I will never forget and still haunts me to this day. VERY GLAD I left that job!
Thankfully, I've never had living bugs. Plenty of dead ones. When I buy a used console, it spends a couple of days in a dark colored covered bin or black garbage bag in the sun. Gets nice and hot and kills most things, even bed bugs. Haven't damaged plastic or melted solder...yet...
worst job I had is we did a TV house call on this old Magnavox TV and we moved the TV and the roaches scattered and this old lady is stomping on them yelling "cucaracha cucaracha" and we open the TV and this module is out of its socket and we told them we think maybe the cockroaches pushed the module out of its socket.
This is a phobia I have that and Dust I live in the woods and Bugs will sneak in during the summer though the AC so this is very much something I worry about. From what I can tell there's no dust in my Series X let alone bugs. Still a phobia.
I have this problem as well and I buy Max Catch glue boards on Amazon and cut them to fit the bottom of my Xbox and under the wiring,Modem and TV. Yes you have to have the stomach to see them stuck but it doesn't really bother me.
I don't understand how people get bugs in their systems, i know why they gravitate to them but I have never once found anything in my playstation, xbox or pc and i have a variety of bugs i feed to my frog in the room.
I have a Xbox 360 elite that has a grasshopper infiltration, thankfully all of them are dead, but it is sitting in one of my storage cabinets, and I still have not yet gotten around to fixing it I bought it around the beginning of 2024
If I had to undertake such a cleaning and "debugging" task, I would do so outdoors, ideally very far away from my living space. Many years ago, I would buy and resell Atari 2600 consoles. I never encountered any bugs, but I would always remove the shells and clean them in the garage (there was a sink) rather than the kitchen or bathroom.
I am deathly afraid of roaches, I hated every single second of this video. Subbed

We had German cockroaches which are the ones here and those are the worst because they literally get into everything electrical or in general. They multiply so fast, within a year you could have over 300k or more cuz a single sac can hold about 30 to 40 eggs. When I tell you I have ptsd, I’m not even joking. It gives me anxiety whenever I go over someone’s house. I will literally ask them ahead of time if they have bugs. I can’t, I simply can’t and refuse. I will say that since then I figured out how to kill them if I run into an issue in the future but I just can’t..
Oh gosh :O
Same issue here! One neighbour brought it to our attention and accused the neighbours downstairs (appartment building) and then all of a sudden the bastards started popping up all over the place! Absolutely vile
I shouldn’t have been eating my breakfast while watching this
lol I feel your pain
I ate pizza while watching this.
YOUR, the guy! Lmao, jk. I was munching on some chips, haha.@XylonXD
I ate pop corn watching this
I 100% feel your pain right now, i worked on my parents's printer this week, same problem.. the smell is so bad ... the metal parts get coroted, and the "filth" from these bugs covers the sensors in some impossible spot to get my hands into, not mentioning the proper cleaning tools are not available so i had to use alcohol
could someone explain to me why they send this xbox to be cleaned rather than buying a new one? How much does it cost to send it to get cleaned, cause i could not imagine doing this for less than the price of a new xbox.
15:22 is the last of the bugs, if anyone wants to skip ahead (like I did.) 😱
It's a nice warm, dark house for a bug to live since the console is usually in sleep mode creating a little bit of heat.
Cockroaches are not bugs. They are insects.
@frowner_and_co "bugs" is a blanket term that can be used for pretty much any creepy crawlies lmao
Bruh pulled every roach out
One by one
You must of never been in a trap house
That persons house is infested 1000x worse than that if there were that many in the Xbox. German roaches are a nightmare!
So... Roach #3 had an egg sac coming out.
I've bred roaches for reptiles and tarantulas to eat.
i mean if you leave it wrapped up securely like that for a few days it should in theory kill off any bugs inside because they won’t have any way to escape find food or water and will also have limited oxygen
Even cleaned like that I wouldn’t take this thing if you gave it to me for free.
Thank you so much for wearing pink gloves… i can actually see whats going on… great work seriously ❤
You surely knew that apartment had thst issue
Bro can you recommend me which console should i buy ps5 or Xbox series x ?
Being from the uk cockroaches are none existent here and I would be shocked seeing a console infested like that the most I’ve had to deal with was cleaning a nintendo 64 that had a few living house spiders of which a majority were dead other than spiders small moths are most common to be found in consoles here
That's a lie cockroaches are everywhere including the uk.
I found a moth in my ps5 when I put my ssd in, I can’t imagine a whole ass colony of bugs xl
The definition of nasty where did this person have it???. Outside in the forest 😂😂😂
i have a question for you, when you clean consoles, would you rather have spiders in it, or roaches?
Spiders for sure !
spiders 100%
Thanks for being a trooper and soldiering thru this one Robert!
how does a console even get like this, genuinely curious. Ive owned plenty of consoles and items and never worried about something like this.
How do you get bugs infesting your console? Must have a dirty ass house and bugs everywhere
Live Cockroach #3 had a big ole egg sac. Glad that didn’t hatch before you did this. Could have been soooooo much worse lol
Does spraying the liquid on the console not break it?
If there was ever a part in one of these videos that screamed run me through an Ultrasonic cleaner it would be that heatsink. IF anything will get it clean that would be it flood it with a foaming cleaner or similar and run it through the ultrasonic.
But how do you get your console like this? Your house must be full of them right? This is crazy
I moved into a house full of them in Australia. Watched them kill a TV, fridge, washing machine and dishwasher. Took me over a year to eventually get rid of the entire infestation
@ but why didn’t you move out once you seen they were there? Sorry you had to live there
Bit random and idk if I will get an answer ,but is it possible for the orange tape to get hard?
I remember my xbox 360 having problems with putting the disc back outside so I would slap it. Eventually when cleaning it orange plastic fell out and honestly no clue what it was and nothing besides discs ever got shoved in there.
why wont you get ultrasonic cleaner and a cleaning liquid fopr electronic boards to clean it?
Based off of the Xbox game section at my local GameStop, it doesn’t seem popular. They replaced the Xbox wall section with manga and figures lmao
im currently watching this in my dorm room and there's a spider in here somewhere, I looked away for a second and poof, it was gone. Now im grossed out on every level imaginable.
Don't be spiders like to eat cockroaches It's like a treat to them and the spider will keep you safe from them!
Spider are ugly and i fear them bud they kill all gross insects Cockroaches Mosquitoes they fight for us 😂 and they come not to 100000 only the bigger ones
so if roaches get in a console, doesn't that mean that there's been an infestation in said home to begin with?
The problem is this things can live anywhere
Okay but how does it get THIS bad 😭 I get they like the heat but holy cow it’s roachville in here
Even after the clean, idk if I would use it. There’s so many crevasses etc to get everything 100 percent. Great job on the clean and great assessment on the power supply and heat sink ! I will definitely subscribe
he replaced the parts he couldnt 100% clean i believe itd be okay.
Satisfying and subbed👍 happy you talk here and there explaining the process ❤️
It would also help to quarantine the console. Keep it wrapped and sealed in a air tight container for at least a month. Roaches need water to survive and eventually all of them would die. Would make cleaning it alot easier and safer.
Why asking a professional to remove them when you can just turn on cyberpunk with highest graphics ?
His whole house has to be infested with them. Not just the console.
I'm curious, why not use PTM on the GPU die? I'd think that it'd be a better, more robust TIM than any paste.
Can anyone help explain how/why the IPA/alcohol is OK to spray onto electronics without damaging it?
I have a series X that was water logged. It won't start up, and I'm guessing the power supply is fried. Any ideas?
Where was this Xbox left? The floor?
Videos like these are so therapeutic, its why I started watching TH-cam back in the day haha
Not to be that person, but if a roach colony can survive in a console i cant image the house.
worst job I had is we did a TV house call on this old Magnavox TV and we moved the TV and the roaches scattered and this old lady is stomping on them yelling "cucaracha cucaracha" and we open the TV and this module is out of its socket and we told them we think maybe the cockroaches pushed the module out of its socket.
I’ve had a dude who had his Xbox series x and it was filled with spiders including 5 egg sacs that were already about to burst with baby spiders
Have you ever cleaned a system that was just filled with spiders? Cause my Brother system was just filled with spiders webs and spiders bodies
How it get this bad 👀
what is that spray you are using to kill them?
First the Nintendo Switch and now this?! How do you end up getting bugs in your console?!
This is a phobia I have that and Dust
I live in the woods and Bugs will sneak in during the summer though the AC so this is very much something I worry about.
When I purchased my Xbox ,I purchased dust vent covers for the top and back side but I took them off as soon as the above idea popped in my head.
I don't understand how people get bugs in their systems, i know why they gravitate to them but I have never once found anything in my playstation, xbox or pc and i have a variety of bugs i feed to my frog in the room.
I have a Xbox 360 elite that has a grasshopper infiltration, thankfully all of them are dead, but it is sitting in one of my storage cabinets, and I still have not yet gotten around to fixing it I bought it around the beginning of 2024
wondering if you over game restoration/fix to the regular people?
Love your videos! These are so satisfying to watch lol.
Lost me at the end, don’t know if it works. Isn’t that part of the service with you cleaning it? I’m curious, honestly.
Does directly spraying loads of IPA onto components like that not damage the xbox?
He probably either lives in a rented trailer, or, an apartment complex. German roaches are hell to deal with. They will get in all your electronics.
