I personally would have kept Glimmer’s, it shows how even though she wasn’t that good with the bow, she was AMAZING with the audience, it’s what makes a career. Fox face wouldn’t really work mostly because she said “they call me fox face” but Katniss came up with that nickname herself. Although I like her brain quote. I like rue’s and clove’s.
Knowing how the capital exploits and tortures the victors after they leave the arena, it makes my stomach churn thinking about what they would’ve done to Rue had she survived.
You can also tell that they were already planning on doing that with Glimmer if she won because she was playing up the "cute, sexy" angle for her interview and while it doesn't show here, in the book her interview dress was almost see through to give the sick Capitol citizens a full view of her body

the tribute at 1:57 is drop-dead GORGEOUS and even though she doesn’t have any lines, she has such a cool aura like i wish she was given a backstory and screentime
for anybody else curious, she’s the district four female tribute! in the books, she a career and dies moments after glimmer from the tracker jackers. her actress, stunt performer tara macken, confirmed her name is marina. considering she was a career, and had this confident and cold aura about her, i feel it was wasted opportunity to explore her and district four; considering district four often fluctuates between tributes being careers or not.
After seeing this, I can kinda see now why Glimmer was considered the weakest out of the Career Pack. Marvel, Clove,& Cato were literally killing machines waiting with anticipation to be put in the games, while Glimmer was more of a pretty face.
Maybe she was deadly, she probably put on an act to look pretty and use her looks to her advantages and when it comes down to it, she’ll show her brutal side

In the movie maybe but in the book it is stated that all the career tributes are 18 so I was referring to that having glimmer be 17 and clove 15 in the movie directly goes against the book canon. 3. A 18 year old is an adult under the law and can legally consent to sex with any person of legal age at least irl so if she was 18 (like in the books) then she can legally have sex with Caesar or snow or any guy in the Capitol because it’s her body her choice she can do what she wants to! That is what I was referring to that it’s ok if she’s 18 and consenting to the flirting / touching. However if she didn’t consent than that’s a different story she seems to be happy about portraying herself that way (wether this is brain washing I’m not sure). Consent is the key here if there is consent than if fine 4. An extra point since you brought up her age in the movie, I think the age of consent in panem is 16! Finnick one at age 14 and was popular with the women of the capitol but he didn’t get made to go on dates to them (basically forced prostitution poor guy) until he turned 16. I think that if tributes aren’t aloud to be bought by Capitol citizens until age 16 and the fact that they can be bought at age 16/17 tells me that like Canada and my country Australia 16 is the legal age. If this is the case then as long as there is consent (which there isn’t in the case of Finnick and I think cashmere which is what makes it the crime of forced prostitution and rape) it is again fine for glimmer who is 17 to be with who she wants to as long as they are 16 or older. 16 year olds can sleep with grown adults over here and in panem apparently. Again there should always be consent when there isn’t (like in Finnick case) that is when there is a problem.

He's that strong and confident about his own abilities. He quietly answered with one word or one line replies. Katniss was just in awe of how defiant he was.
They should have left all these parts in, it gives more dimension and backstory to each of the tributes, thus making their fates in the games all the more theatrical and emotional. Edit: And some people didn’t read the books, so it would have been nice for them to learn more about the tributes. I read them of course, so I knew a little more about each other them than the movie gives you.

If Rue won: Marvel was aimed towards Katniss. If he actually impaled her and she still shot him before, Rue could run away, hiding in the trees most of the time. Slowly coming out to collect berries and water, then going back to the trees. Later when there’s a fight happening between the last two, she could create a slingshot. Once the last person is looking for her, she can shoot them in the back of their head/neck. That could easily knock them out or kill them.

That’s appropriate since the games are a metaphor for toxic capitalism and school is toxic capitalist training.

rue seems to be the eldest sibling and she says she can find food. she's a provider like katniss. seeing her katniss realizes there's no escape from this cycle. not all little tweens in panem have older sisters to protect them. and even prim can't be protected beyond that. next year she can be chosen again

She’s also the one that got her tribute token taken away - a ring that could reveal a poisoned spike. Likely she’d counted on being able to use that
They should’ve kept this part in. Considering we know what often times happens to past victors, the way that Caesar wanted to touch Glimmer and someone whistling from the crowd at her, she would’ve suffered the same fate as Finnick if she had been named victor. Poor Glimmer in this scene… she’s a kid man
Most career tributes are 18 years old
@@alternateendingsandedits6854 Glimmer is 17. And even if she was 18 it's inappropriate for a 50+ year old man to be joking about touching her ass. Seriously, what is wrong with people and "if they're 18 then they can't possibly be groomed and it's totally ok for grown-ass adults to sleep with them!"
@@fabplays6559 1. it’s more district one (her district) that grooms children since they choose their most attractive tributes to volunteer for the purpose of being sexually appealing to the Capitol. The other career districts 2 & 4 choose their strongest / most capable young people to be tributes.
Consent is the key here if there is consent than if fine
@@fabplays6559Um no, if she’s 18 it’s perfectly fine. If she’s 17, and the age of consent is 16 it’s equally fine. I think the truly inappropriate thing here isn’t his innocent misunderstanding but that the government is killing kids. That’s the bad thing.
