Man they should have shot Thresh's interview too. From what I read, he wasn't interested in playing for the Capitol's entertainment, even if he got no sponsors. He's that strong and confident about his own abilities. He quietly answered with one word or one line replies. Katniss was just in awe of how defiant he was.

unpopular opinion- the films are better off without a lot of these- I do like rue's interview though. A lot of the interviews of the other districts leave something to be desired in how they're acted lol

Notice how Caesar asked rue if she was good with a ‘gun’, with the restrictions of weaponry across the districts I feel like Caesar was hoping to cop her out with that remark and maybe even try and get her disqualified if it’s even possible

Why they eliminated some interviews

I like how they all seem like realistic kids but they all have a certain strategy. Glimmer plays up sex appeal and at least pretends shes comfortable with being sexualized. Marvel claims hes wanted to do it since he was a child and plays it up as an amazing opportunity anyone can do if they belive in themselves. Clove is confident and fiesty playing up her talents and reasons shes a good fit. Cato also claims it was a childhood dream, a super awesome opportunity and the games were amazing and he was excited about them. Just what the career tributes were supposed to say. Foxface is reserved but sells the underdog story by stating her intelligence as a weapon and a alternative to career victors. Rue was adorable and innocent highlighting how horrific it really was

Rye’s sweet little face emotionally destroys me to this day… she was like a little fairy, put on this earth to be gentle and kind, and loved her family so fiercely. Her character serves as an example that in a capitalist, fascist society… even the most gentle and kind souls are made into victims. They couldn’t possibly have casted a better actress to play Rue, because just one glance at her sweet face makes anyone want to take a bullet for her!

The scene with Marvel feels like a self-parody or something

I like how when Rue says she's "12," it cuts straight to Katniss' reaction. Her mind must have gone straight to Prim and how Rue did not have an older sister volunteer for her. She's left to fend for herself in a cruel game.

It's ironic, Cato's view on volunteering for the hunger games. "Not volunteering makes you an idiot" but If the shoe were on the other foot you know no one from the capital would ever volunteer. It truly is fascinating when you sit back and really think about the propaganda and brainwashing that took place between the 10th and the 75th Hunger Games
