    Great clip! I've been researching the Ripmo V2 and SB130 back to back. One may replace my 2016 27.5 AM rig that I'm on now. Just need to find some demo days again. Thanks for the Info.

      Thanks for watching! You can’t go wrong with either bike, I felt my Ripmo is just a bit more capable in steep and chunk where the SB130 might be a bit more consistent in varied terrain … again, we are splitting hairs here - both bikes are INCREDIBLE

    Switched from a V1 RIPMO to a YETI SB130 than to PIVOT FIREBIRD 29 back to a RIPMO V2 This time in ALUMINUM.
    The pivot was the best downhill performing bike, the YETI was best over roots, but at the end the Ripmo suits my overall needs the best. Love yeti cycles, but was not to happy with maintaining the switch infinity and the bearings of the yeti. So it all comes down what you wanna ride… but all this bike are super incredible

    • @FoCoFlowShow
      @FoCoFlowShow  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Those are some awesome bikes … the Firebird is a mini DH bike so tough to compare to the SB130 or Ripmo. Good point in maitenance on the switch infinity - didn’t think about that

    • @sml2238
      @sml2238 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      the sb130 being the best over roots is surprising considering the yeti is not as plush as the ripmo given the more liner leverage ratio. typically the yeti is going to better on more flow style trails and have the ability to really gain a lot of speed by pumping through corners and over rollers, so it's supper fast and supportive. but it may be a tad more harsh than the ripmo, especially over smaller square edge bumps like roots it will kind of skip over them and chatter instead of soaking them up like the ripmo would. that's why it surprises me that you made that comment. regardless the sb130 is the absolute tits and an amazing bike. I love it as one of my main bikes that's an extremelyy capable all around and compliments my SB165 supremely.

    • @matthiasmuller343
      @matthiasmuller343 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@sml2238 agree on the most stuff, it also depends on the size of the roots, the Ripmo is more plush, but I guess because of the ability that the backend of the yeti is more going sidewise, you have more flex.

    • @sml2238
      @sml2238 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@matthiasmuller343 oh I see what you mean, the yeti does have a bit more torsional flex that is I believe by design and can help out traction in a subtle way. i hadn't considered that as it's usually.a bit tougher to pick out what the torsional flex is doing over the suspension but that could very well be the case...interesting

    Hi!! I just consider ripmo or 130LR for my next bike, both excellents, but you think one its more playfull-fun?
    On jumps and in the air im looking have more confident.
    Also do a lot of climbing mixing with chunky stuff and long alpine descends.
    Can you ask the weight of the 130LR? Probably heavier than ibis?
    You will be fine in both bikes same size?
    So if you can give me some feedback will be great.
    Cheers

    • @FoCoFlowShow
      @FoCoFlowShow  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      SB130 is a touch more poppy and playful. BUt really capable on descents but the Ripmo gets the nod there but both bikes can really do it all. Not sure on weight but I will ask. Both bikes are size XL and fit perfect for me at 6'2". If had to choose one, I'd probably go with the Ripmo because it is just a tad more "enduro" than the SB130 and I prefer to have "too much bike" for the daily riding so that I have "enough bike" for the big descents and occasional trips to the bike park.

    What do you think of the Vibrocore bars?

    • @FoCoFlowShow
      @FoCoFlowShow  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I like them - I have them on my Ripmo V2 as well and did a review on my channel - they definitely help reduce some of the handpump and numbness you get from long DH runs but they also didn't ELIMINATE it either - they feel similar to carbon bars which is a good thing for a fair price

    Is it me or do you see more of his top tube than actual trail in front of him. Chest mount is fixed so if he is pedaling with the post dropped you see his knees, and more trail. With post extended, you see less trail and no knees. Might need to watch other riding vids and see if they use a chest mount gimbal. EX Rich Drew, JKW or Jeff Lenowsky

    Nice, you were hauling arse cheeks on that Yetimeister! It truly is a fast bike that begs to be grabbed tightl and pounded hard! also one second on that PR is substantial, IMO your time had more to do with the geometry and kinematics of the SB130 as opposed to the specific suspension, wheels, and components used that stuff doesn't make a big difference like that. Again, it's all about the kinematics with SI providing the pedaling platform as well as the linearity making it a really good bike to pump out of turns and over bumps, plus the aggressive geometry making the bike super stable and fast making it right at home when it comes to hauling the mail.
    However, after a bit of peen suckle there I do have to now put your dlck in the dirt. The DPX2 is not a good match for the FOX 38 IMO that bike is over forked and under shocked. A Fox 36 with the new FOX Float X is the perfect combo for that bike. The 38 is too heavy IMO for that bike if you want to keep it as balanced as possible. I run the FOX 38 on my SB165 with a Push ElevenSix coil and on SB150 I run the FOX 38 as well but with a FOX Float X2 shock, and finally on my SB130 I run a FOX 36 with the FOX Float X shock. I have found these setups to be the absolute perfect balance between performance, weight, and overall balance considering the nuances between the bikes leverage curves and the damping characteristics and adjustability of each of my chosen forks/shocks on their respective bike.
    Also one thing I noticed from your video was the geometry of the bike seems to stay fairly stable at full compression/bottom out that's huge as a lot of bikes at full bottom out get super steep head angles and overall the geometry goes out the window and the bike handles unpredictably deep in the travel.

    • @FoCoFlowShow
      @FoCoFlowShow  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I agree actually… the owner of the bike is 240lbs so the 38 makes sense for him but I definitely think an X2 or something beefier would be better for him… for me I would have built it with a fox 36 and cane creek double barrel IL coil

    • @sml2238
      @sml2238 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@FoCoFlowShow that makes sense! I had a couple of wobbly pops in me when I wrote that lol so apologies if I came off like a dick. cheers brother! have you tried a coil on the SB130? I feel like the bikes too linear for a coil, plus I really do feel the SB130 is better served keeping the build spec on the lighter side, but it depends on your goals for the bike and if it's your only bike or not. I do wonder how a coil would be with the cascade link though. but for me I have beefier bikes with coils so my SB130 is my lighter duty more nimble quiver.pp

      @@sml2238 hahaha - those wobbly pops will sneak up on you! I haven’t tried a coil on the sb130 but just put one in my Ripmo V2 and am really liking it so far. You may be right that a lighter build on the SB is the way to go

    Going to a Fox 38 is not an upgrade unless you are going over 160mm. The 36 is a better tuned spec Fork at 160mm then 38. The trail didn’t look too rowdy. I’m willing to bet any smaller bike/XC will be much faster than both bikes. The 130lr is not an enduro bike…

    • @FoCoFlowShow
      @FoCoFlowShow  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      True - technically not an enduro bike but designed for more enduro use than the non-lunch ride edition.
      I’m 205lbs and the 36 is perfect but the bikes owner is closer to 240lbs so the 38 makes more sense for him

    You mean is it faster than the RIPLEY, not the RIPMO you are comparing it to the wrong bike. The RIPLEY is 130 like the Yeti SB130, you should compare the SB150 to the RIPMO, not the SB130

    • @FoCoFlowShow
      @FoCoFlowShow  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      You’re probably right - altho this is the lunchride 130 which makes it 160 front (same as ripmo)

  • @turner02

    this is not an enduro bike. also, yeti is in golden not boulder.

    • @FoCoFlowShow
      @FoCoFlowShow  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      The regular SB 130 is definitely more of a trail bike but any 29er with 160mm of front travel is definitely Enduro bike territory (although new bikes are pushing that further). Perhaps “trail bike with enduro bike characteristics” may have been more accurate.
      Good call on Golden - I got them confused during recording
