I loved this review! He mentioned everything that is still wrong with the fisker technology, but he did it in such a professional manner. Also, reviewed the nice elements that everyone seems to love about the fisker in a possitive manner. I rate Consumer Reports non bias and very professional! you got a new fan and follower here!
The one thing not mentioned yet (tho I’m sure will be talked about in the 2000 mile test) is that ridiculous 500 boosts limit. No other car in this segment has a limiter on the amount of times you can get max power from your motors. Like not even an explanation as to why from fisker. It’s very concerning

Thanks for your early review. I’ve had my Fisker Ocean One for two months, 1,600 miles and have zero major issues. Just as you review said, some warning lights come and go, but are resolved quickly with a soft reset-similar to how we turn off/on the smart phone. The software update 2.0 has resolved most of the warning problems. The features on the car are incredibly unique-the new software shows how much energy the SolarSky roof has generated and is actively generating. The build is top quality, and the look beyond sexy! Hope folks continue to give the car a look.

Build is top quality. 😂 It, unfortunately, will be an unsellable brick within a couple of months once Fisker goes under. I hope someone saves them. Meanwhile, prices have been slashed in a fire sale leaving anyone that didn’t lease high and dry.
They just took 24K off and will not refuse any cash offers. About to get one for 25K cash with $7,500 rebate.

I’m really hoping that Fisker can get over this situation, really push software updates to address some of the glitches and bugs. With good pricing and improvements, they might have a surviving chance.

I've had my ocean since January with version 1.11 and only had a few ADAs errors in the beginning. Much less frequent now for whatever reason. It's my daily driver car and I have had no reliability issues like the supposedly common dead 12volt battery or dying in the middle of the road thing. I do have some annoyances with it currently, which is the loud fan noise from the rear view mirror and the rear passenger light coming on and off randomly, which will be fixed with replacement part that's currently in back order. The fan noise went away after 2.0 part 1 update. I've driven a Tesla and Polestar 2 before, their software is definitely smoother and more responsive. Fisker's software is a bit laggy and I hope that improves with future updates. The regen is definitely better in the Tesla and Polestar. The regen on the Fisker with the default highest setting is jerky if you're not use to it but once you adapt to controlling it, it becomes second nature. It's otherwise a good car. I enjoy driving the car and people in my building compliments it. Just doesn't help that if they research it, all they're going to see is bad press, which is very likely the cause for the poor sales. All the bashers and trolls that have nothing better to do don't know what they're talking about and just echoing MKHBD and so are all the other crap youtubers that are trying to piggy back off his name to get views, (Tailosive EV and salomondrin to name a few). It's a shame that some bigger power out there doesn't want this company to survive.
Fisker has many, many, problems. It isn’t just one or two things.

I am enjoying our Fisker Ocean. Like you said, reaching out to customer service and getting a response back to address issues continues to be a challenge.
I really like the roll down rear quarter windows, and also the roll down rear hatch window. Very cool. I also like the "taco tray". Why on earth has nobody done that before. The in-dash electronics is where things are not very promising.
CR, the Ocean has a small learning curve. Also, if any light stays on for any length of time, simply do a soft reset by pressing the two inner most buttons on the steering wheel at the same time for 20 seconds. We love our Ocean. It's fast, fun, and amazing. A little quirky, but I love that too. It sure stands out in a crowd and is brutally fast in fun and hyper mode.
Car is fast, cool and a pleasure to drive. Looking forward to 2.0 update. Service has been excellent so far.
Very interesting car! I like the rotating screen, but it makes me wonder how long that feature will last when it comes to wear and tear.
How often you really want to rotate? I knew nobody living in the car, watching TV while eating and such things... You can adjust it as you like an that's it.

I’ve been driving mine since December 3rd.
It’s nice being one of the ONLY EV companies with no panel gaps. I LOVE MINE and drive it every day.

did you do a soft reset of the car as is needed to clear the system? takes like two minutes? another TH-cam Ocean owner reported most of these glitch issues are fixed simply with a soft reset of system.
I own a Fisker Ocean One. Best car to drive that I've had. And I've driven BMW X5, X7, Alfa Romeo Stelvio. The build quality is great and I've had no issues with it. The software updates are coming, so I'm not worried. It's a fantastic car.
I purchased an Ocean One about two months ago. It is true that its software has been glitchy, but has been improving with each update. I have had Mercedes, BMW and Lexus for years. Two of my close friends, my brother-in-law and my niece have Tesla (Model 3, Model Y, and Model S). When I compare Fisker with these cars, it feels more like a BMW. It has a solid build, a luxary feel when you drive it, and of course its great look. All these are missing in Tesla, specially in Model Y and 3. These Tesla models feel/look cheap and plasticy. Perhaps, Fisker came our prematurely as far as its software is concerned. But people tend to forget how Tesla, with its current superior software, was in its early days with ton of glitches and imperfections. Now, one may ask why does Fisker, as a company, have such a hard time if it has such a good product? Well, apart from more competitive environment that fisker is now facing, economic situation is very different than the early days of Tesla. Specifically, capital market is in horible condition. Tesla enjoyed the near zero interest rates during the Obama admin. Easy access to capital is very crucial for any startup!

Well said. It could be and adventure. I'm merely an enthusiast, but I'd assume that if someone owns an EV and they're into tech, they have patience when it comes to progress. Ev owners have a "Trust the process" mentality if you will.
I don't disagree with your take, but I think a lot of people who would even consider (much less buy) a Fisker are just in denial and/or borderline delusional. This isn't the same as spending $200 on a carry-on from a new luggage brand. This is spending $70K on something from a startup that could become a worthless paperweight in a couple years, and takes a mindset that I genuinely can't relate to and don't understand. More power to them if they can afford to take a risk like that, but I sure can't and wouldn't want to if I could.
A very fair review. I have had my Ocean since October and I absolutely love it, zero regrets. It is the best car I have ever driven. Yes there are lights that come and go but it is greatly improving with each update. I wish you mentioned the “glove box” under seat storage and over 100 lbs of recycled materials in the car. The lack of leather is supposed to be “greener”. Again, thank you for the fair update!
06:40 custom settings returning to factory defaults is one of my biggest complaints. Every time a tester mentions how a car's set-up can be set to one's liking, my - unanswered = question is, well, once I set it the way I like, does it stay that way, or do I have to go thru that procedure every time I get back behind the wheel.
I wished testers would spare a moment and point out if personalized settings stay or default to factory specs every time the car is turned off.

This is the only EV i've ever seriously considered buying. The look is striking, and it's the best blend of late 20th century functionality and a modern technicality I've seen in one. Tech problems are just tech problems.
I'd buy a 2023 for the collectability at this point.

Bears and Shorts - knock it off. I have an Ultra and it's GREAT! I absolutely love it! Sure, software can be a little finicky but that'll be addressed via OTA updates. Everyday, when I take the car out, people stop in their tracks and smile, take out their phones to snap pictures. People have come up to me and asked about the Ocean. I'll be sharing it at an EV show next month.
This company will make it - no worries. Fisker will partner with many of Japan's large OEMs and together, they'll come out stronger. Fisker is BETTER than Tesla for sure!

None of these issues about the software have negatively affected my driving experience with this FOO I received 6 months ago. After the 1.11 update many of these things disappeared. I think they are overblown. I know they will be corrected in the near future and in the meantime I drive this car everywhere and everyday enjoying the ride!

I have logged over 8300 miles on my Fisker Ocean since November 2023. The car is fun to drive, very comfortable, and exceptionally quiet. I received the latest Over-the-Air (OTA) software update to version 2.0 and the car is now even better. DC Fast Charging has been a good experience, especially when using ChargePoint and Electrify America chargers. If Fisker follows through with their April release of version 3.0, I will be very happy to have adaptive cruise control and better radar sensor programming.

Fantastic introduction to the car and know you'll find some gremlins but overall the car will be fine. Each manufacturer has some hiccups... but I love this car, the looks, the functionality etc and would love to see it in Australia soon! Look forward to your series about this car too.
LOVE my Fisker. Drives amazing, nimble, and powerful. Software greatly improved with 2.0, very excited for future updates. Btw, Tesla is on update 12.3, so even they have to work on software. Have driven Tesla’s, Beemers, Lexus’. After 2000 on the mileage, the Fisker has them all beat hands down. Can’t wait to drive it. And the red on the heads up display is showing you when you are using energy, blue when regenerating. Same as the Ionic. Not irritating at all. Decent review, but take 3 more minutes to associate yourself with the car before doing a review.
It sure is refreshing to hear someone using the word “unique” correctly. I can’t recall the last time that I’ve experienced this on TH-cam.
I have one of the first Ocean Sports in the states; I love the car, but it's certainly an adventure.

If the reviewer had fully read about the interior fabric, he should be espousing the sustainability of the fabric and the FACT that rope and fabric from cleaning the ocean was used to make a good portion of the interior (intentionally did not want leather in this car, by design). I believe he missed eco-friendly side of the car for whatever reason?

They couldve easily fit a glove box under that pull out tray. Still bugs me not having a standard glove box

I've had my Ocean One since September and I really love this car. It is so much fun to drive - the hardware/finish is excellent and on par with my last Mercedes. The software sucks on the best of days, but I am hopeful that the 2.0 OTA update (and future updates) will address most of the main issues. You can more easily fix bad software - you can't fix bad hardware.
FYI - Fisker slashes MSRPs of Ocean trims by tens of thousands as it fights to stay in business. The price of the new Ocean Ultra drops 34%, from $52,999 to $34,999.
Best Ev by far way better than Tesla for sure plus everyone I know that owns one loves it and tell me how everywhere they go someone always asks where did you get that car so that they can go get one too!

They have the Ultra, only Extreme and Ocean Ones have the solar roof and taco tray.

There's no solar roof on the ultra. That's just on the more expensive trims (extreme and one)

2:15 My BMW has this "California mode" and it's the dumbest feature ever, more than once its activated on my car while the key was in my pocket and I was inside my house at night and it rained all night into my car and got everything wet.
Great video. I sense your detailed testing, will be scientific, honest and unbiased. I am biased in that I love the car design, and really hope Fisker can continue as a car company. I agree (and it is a point lost recently in much commentary) ... Fisker have achieved an enormous amount to get this far re producing a new car. Re the vintage suit looking upholstery (and some older suits were surely made with the best fabric) ... the Ocean has a huge focus on sustainability and ethical sourcing.... so no leather.... and a very high amount of recycled and environmentally friendly materials...
Mike, I want to say this is an excellent review! You should tell your boss (well, maybe asking would be better) to have you do more reviews! Mike Q., I love you, but your voice changes between natural conversation (like my favorite episodes of Talking Cars!) and when you do a review. Not in a great way IMHO. That's my 2 cents.

Alas after this was filmed it appears that Fisker is in very serious trouble in terms of its potential survival. They are being sold off now at huge discounts. Unfortunate.
My 2010 Lincoln MKZ would roll down the windows and open the sunroof by holding down the unlock button on the key fob 3 seconds... It's a great feature, but definitely not new or revolutionary on a car in 2024. Cool looking suv though!

They have only been delivering cars for 2 quarters and have a world class affordable EV SUV which has won many awards. Yesterday it won the If best EV SUV award.

It's also possible that the comments are negative because three years ago, the stock was trading at $28.00. Now it's trading at 13¢. At this point, nobody would pay anything to try to manipulate the stock.
If you like the Ocean, and you've read the reviews, and you have plenty of money, then by all means do what you want. You also might want to talk to Fisker Karma and Karma Revero owners first.

It's okay CR--don't go all "MotorWeek" on us--you can tell us not to buy this car. Seems like a lot of the commentators love their Fiskers though? (seriously though, there's a LOT of love for Fisker in the comment section here. It's a little "fishy" or maybe "fisky?" haha) I'm not sure what it is about the design and materials use, but it LOOKS like I've seen the full-daylight behind the scenes footage from a prop-car that some sci-fi show would build and film in the rain and shadows and artfully light.

Why hasn't stellantis bought out fisker and correct the software. This would have been cheaper then starting from the ground up. Plus get dealer support through the stellantis network. Stellantis laid off 400 engineers.

Why is it these testers never state the s/w level??? We are all aware that these EV's get fixed via s/w updates .. much like your iPhone\Android phones do..
If you're going to test an EV, please make sure you state the s/w level and also make sure you do any updates available before the test! Also there are soft resets that can be done that fix a lot of issues and should be done prior to any testing ..
And as always these are super new cars so pls take any issues with that understanding!!
There are several cars I have had from some of the oldest manufacturers and every time I get a newly released vehicle I find lots of issues!
No car companies are perfect every new car has issues, let's all play nice out there!!
It has 564 horsepower not 468.
First, why didn't they just introduce it as a 2024? That's how most automakers do it. Its not very sleek looking, and the wheels are horrible. Second, its not very sleek and has an awful lot of very cheap looking plastics. Not something you want to see on a car of this price.
Still, my favorite part are the windows (even the quarter window) that opens/close with a single switch -- California mode. That includes the sunroof that actually still opens for ventilation. Rare for an EV. That's a feature I've coveted for from the beginning of the sunroof.
I like this vehicle. Don’t know about the matte paint.
Safety equipment that comes and goes? Should be pulled off market.
