Good video, this is the first step for the BMW test plan diagnosing SCR Efficiency faults since it won’t regen properly but won’t store a relevant fault. Video could have been a minute or so shorter with all the “uhms,” though
Hey, I just want to follow up with the problem with my thermostat. So, it was broken. Probably, the thermostat metal part with the spring was still OK but the tabs holding the thermostat to the thermostat housing had broken. Right after I replaced it, followed your instructions again in this DIY video and now the temperature is between 86-94 but most of the time stays 88-90. With that now fixed, the regenerations for the DPF are taking place when the car’s computer command it. Thank you.
Great! Thank you so much. This is super helpful. I tried this morning and my coolant temperature driving at 70-80 MPH it hardly makes higher than 70 degrees Celsius. Please tell me what’s your coolant temperature driving at that speed with your new thermostat? I have a feeling my thermostat has gone bad and it’s stuck open. Thank you.
@M57E70 yeah my thermostat was broken open and that’s why the temperature was always in low 70’s and that was causing my DPF not to regenerate. So decided to check the thermostat and sure enough it was broken. After I replaced it temperature went back to normal 88-92.
Holy crap how many umms do you say in a day
