I wasn't ready for tulips

I take advantage of a gap in the rainy weather to plant some tulips around the terrace in the garden and to rescue the strawberries. I also try to treat the fungus gnats and aphids on our indoor plants with neem oil.

They were beautiful! The ones on my balcony never blossomed by the ones in the garden did. I am very happy :)

Hi Kate! Im excited for you to have tulips given to you! They're one of my favorite flowers. I found out last year that mice like to eat their leaves 😮 so just a word of warning, lol. Glad you got to enjoy some warmth from the sun. Our weather can't seem to make up it's mind. One day its like spring and the next its cold again. I know eventually the warm weather will come to stay for longer periods. Can't wait for that. Enjoy your day and thank you for another great video! 🌷 😊

I'm okay sharing some leaves with the mice, as long as they don't eat them all up. ;) Some of the tulips in the garden have started blooming and I am so happy. I expected these wouldn't come up until next year but they did. The weather here is weirdly moody. Hopefully, it'll stop raining soon, so I can work more in the garden.

I think figuring it out with what we have is a fairly great idea for life in general! As someone who tries to be anti-consumerist by nature, those are words to live by! Glad you found your garden shears and congrats on free tulips! Yay!❤

It was so great watching you in the outdoor garden. Warmer weather is almost here. Hooray! How exciting about the tulips that were given to you. I have some red ones in bloom and picked up some pink ones on sale not long ago - along with a few more blueberry plants (I’m very excited for those). Oh how I wish we lived close, I have so much lemon balm to share. It can be invasive so be careful where you plant it. I’ll be removing some lemon balm and comfrey this year as they have taken over my lower garden area.
My daughter and I were just talking about making our own sour cream - I have some jars for fermenting so I will be looking up a recipe and watching videos today. Thank you for reminding me 😄 My main chores today will be working with my frozen tomatoes from last year’s harvest, some freezer meal prep, preserving our over abundance of eggs, & starting more seeds along with all the other chores that need done. It’s going to storm today, the thunder just started so it’s an indoor day, at least in between showers. Or who knows, maybe I’ll take a walk in the rain 😁 Those pesky plant bugs - please let us know how your spray worked. As always, I enjoyed the video.

@Julie-H thanks for reminding me that lemon balm is like mint there. For now, it is moving into hydroponics but I will keep it in mind when I plant some outdoors. Good luck with the sour cream!

For me, it's always so lovely to see Pepper at the start of your videos. And, in this one, seeing him checking out the germination of your garlic. They look good and obviously survived the long wet winter. I too love tulips. Here the tulips are up. Some are just going over, while others are coming into bloom. You cannot believe how amazing my tulip 'queen of night' looks when it's in flower. It brings a bit of drama to my raised bed. Having maroon flowers with a silky sheen, it gives the apperance of being black. I wish I could send a photo to you. But being a Luddite, I don't know how to do it, as I'm not on Facebook nor on Instagram. Never mind, but I hope you can visualize my lovely English tulips.

Tulips must be planted in the fall because they are flowering/blooming in the spring, otherwise you have to wait another year

They were transplanted from a neighbor's garden and are blooming just fine 🙂
