    I liked the sock trick. Finally something to do with my old gym socks once the toes blow out.

    So far you explained the system the best. The use of the sock is great. I really didnt want to use paint because like you I wanted to reuse jars. You just simple supplies and not a lot of items to buy. Thank you.

    Really enjoyed your video on this method! Would love to see an update video with your current thoughts on this method compared to something like an aerogarden or click and grow!

    Thanks, I was really hoping to find a TH-cam about this. I had been planning to get a 4.0 Gardyn unit to start as I really hope to grow a lot hydroponically, but needed to know some more things as every time I tried, with the new insulated windows and this semitropical environment inside my home, only sprouting chickpeas and lentils was consistently possible. Unfortunately my debit card wasn't accepted by Gardyn and the $39/month plan was what fit my budget. Otherwise people have to pay hundreds of dollars with each payment or pay for the whole thing when I am really hoping to have heirloom organic produce for all me food as soon as possible. As plant nutrition and health is going down for store bought and prices are going up. I want to optimally boost my immunity and optimize my fitness, too. I have learned waves of potentially incredibly dangerous disease, aren't going to stop and some are getting even worse than past varieties. I'll be searching for what to do to keep the system with a balanced clean. I'll be searching for red and blue led lights and trying to figure out how to keep the system so my vegan cats won't think it's playtime as so far if I bring a plant home, they love it to death. Have a nice day!

    Wonderful!!! Thank You ❤ I use black leggings cut in 1/2 for my 1/2 Gallon Kratky Mason Jars.
    They are so easy to pull down and see where the water level is. I didn't want to paint the jars either.
    Great Video!!!! ❤❤❤

    Excellent tutorial! Thanks. I'm so happy you included the 'show and tell' product instead of having to have us search through your channel to see the results. The sock is a great idea!
    Is the net cup needed? WOndering if the collar won't do the trick on its own. I've also seen someone who cuts up a pool noodle to use for collars ;-)

    Can you transfer these into soil later on? Or would you want to leave it in the aeroplanter since it’s started that way?

    I don’t like using rockwool because of the dangers with the little fibers and inhaling them or touching them. I use leica. If you do use rockwool, you are supposed to wear an N95 and gloves when you use it

    OMG!!! Your video was great and easy to follow. Thank you!
    I do have a question though. I want to move my hydroponics herbs to the jars...basically just as you described. My question is regarding the roots. They are already pretty long. Do I just trim them to make them fit in the net cup? Or do I just smoosh the roots into the net cup? Or do I just harvest what I have and simply try and start over with my herbs. TIA

    • @SherSheGoes
      @SherSheGoes  ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Are your herbs currently in an aerogarden? You can get these and just place the aerogarden pod directly in it!
      amzn.to/3nToi3Q
      Otherwise, you can use the collars I mentioned and put them around the plant stem:
      amzn.to/3O4onwa
      Or, you can gently cut the bottom of the net cup to let the roots dangle through!

      OMG!!! Thank you so much for these ideas! I love the first link you sent, and that was so helpful. Yes I have an aerogarden type system. It's the FAFAGRASS Hydroponics Growing System 12 pods. So I believe those pods will fit perfectly in those disc things. Much much much appreciated! Thank you for replying so quickly as well.

    Could you point me to the socks you used? The link takes me to a page with various different socks. They look like Hanes men’s crew, but I’m not sure about the length. The ones you show cover the jar nicely. Thank you!

    Ah, so you used the Aerogarden nutrients. I wasn't sure how much to put. After I guessed, I saw this video. I followed the instructions on the Aerogarden nutrients bottle. I'm trying to grow cherry tomatoes, like I would in my Aerogarden.
    I have all these extra net cups from Aerogarden seed kits. I was surprised to learn that those white plastic things fit perfectly at the top of a 101.4 ounce Poland Spring water bottle. (It's more cylindrical than the one shown in your video.) The problem is keeping out light so that algae doesn't grow. It's too big for socks. 😄

    I’m north facing with barely any sunlight in my apartment, can these herbs grow without it?

    • @someoneinthecrowd4313
      @someoneinthecrowd4313 8 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      This is a late reply but yes they can, but the growth will be tall and lean which is what happens when a plant is reaching towards the sun. I.E harvest will be poor. What you can do is get a weak 15 watt or so LED strip grow light to assist the natural sunlight. Added bonus is that those weak LED strips aren't expensive nor are they blinding, and they're also quite decorative.

    I do have a black thumb -- probably because I have ADD, & therefore, time-blindness. I have no idea how long it has been since I last fed my baby (tracking apps are of critical importance), so don't expect me to know when I last overwatered that tender young plant. Woops! I just ignored 3 consecutive reminders to attend to my plants ... better go check to see whether it's dead or stressed but alive enough to prolong its suffering.
