    It always amazes me when TH-camrs talk about how quiet a car is or not! I'm sure they're the only people who really care, because they need to talk over the video, of course!
    When a car manufacturer includes a subwoofer in the back....... I'm using it! I don't care how quiet it is at speed, the house tunes will be pumping out anyway!

    You drove the car in sport mode, which has the highest torque and almost no regen. I have the 2021 eNiro and when I drive it in ECO mode I get no spinning wheels at all, ever. The car gets 40-60% regen in ECO mode, the onboard software is flawless, and the car is smooth, quiet, and easy to drive on the highway until about 130km/h. I compared it to the VW ID3, which I found to be a nice if boring car with a strange software system.

    • @BatteryLife
      @BatteryLife  ปีที่แล้ว

      Regen can be adjusted as desired in every drive mode.
      Yes the spinning wheels happen in Sport and comfort mode. But I want to feel some power and other cars, especially rwd cars do that better.

    I know it's impractical but you are supposed to fasten your seat belt before you power on car. That way you won't get so many beeps starting eNiro.

  • @ellistreloar2047
    @ellistreloar2047 3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

    Lots of reviewers have demonstrated acceleration 0-100kph close to six seconds. Noise? At 160kph in a SUV/Crossover? Irrelevant for a family designed car. TeslaBjorn’s instrument measured noise tests show less than 5db noise difference (65-70kph) in similar designed cars at “family” car speeds. I doubt that any human ear could detect that difference at that noise level. I like your personality and friendly style, but your lack of discipline and your irrelevant tests for this class of car have put me off your channel. Sorry.

    • @BatteryLife
      @BatteryLife  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      0 to 100 is never 6 sec, you are wrong. 7,3s maybe. My car had 52% SOC therefore less power, only 137kW, instead of 150 kW.
      wind Noise level at 130 kmh is louder than in other cars.
      Under that it is fine.
      All mentioned in the video!
      130 is important in some european countries, because it is the highway driving speed.

      @@AlanTov what’s wrong with pointing out someone being critical is factually all over the place? The response was measured considering the initial comment was incorrect.

    • @ellistreloar2047
      @ellistreloar2047 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@kevinwalton4538 Incorrect? Then your research is as poor as “Battery Life”. There are lots of videos and articles confirming E Niro acceleration is considerably faster than stated by Kia’s official numbers. Watch all this channel’s videos of the E Niro and do your research. You will find inaccurate statements that reflect poor research or deliberate misleading comments eg, he states that you cannot view sat nav directions in the driver’s display - you can with a simple push button on the steering wheel. But he is too proud to admit his errors or that his findings differ from other reliable reviewers eg, Tesla Bjorn. He criticises the jerky smart cruise control action when approaching a slower vehicle ahead when this can simply be set in the driver’s controls. He criticises the Kia auto trip data screen when there is a driver reset controlled screen one button push away. His comments about efficiency are also at odds with other reviewers. However, I think that my criticism of the latest VAG, BMW and Daimler cars have caused a sting in several channels. It is shameful that they are comparing their latest ‘pure EV’ designs with a 4-5 year old Korean EV based on a petrol/hybrid car design. These German cars should be significantly better than the E Niro in terms of power, efficiency, features and cost. They’ve had years to ‘cut and paste’ the engineering in the Tesla and Hyundai Ioniq classic, the only EV to challenge Tesla EV efficiency. Sadly and disappointingly most are not better and they are typically 10k Euros more expensive for the same equipment as the E Niro. German EV engineers are asleep at their desks and all the efforts of VAG, BMW and Daimler fan boys to disguise this complacency will not save them when the Korean pure EV’s are on the road. And they are 2-3 generations behind Tesla technology.

      5db is a huge difference in loudness as the scale is logarithmic. The Kia e-niro is a great car but there is no doubt it is really quite noisy. Also acceleration fastest I have seen is high 6 seconds in perfect conditions.

  • @axelbeer1000
    @axelbeer1000 3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

    Thanks for the tests. It's interesting that you mention that the eniro is loud compared to the ID.3.
    Bjørn Nyland and Andreas Haehnel came to a different conclusion. They measured the noisse level and both come to the result that the eNiro is quieter than the ID.3.

    Maybe you came to a different conclusion because of unevenly worn tires.
    To the upcoming comparison of the infotainment system of the eNiro and ID.3. The eNiro has received a new software that has significantly changed the infotainment. The software on your test vehicle is the old one. It makes no sense to compare an outdated version.

      Wind noise at 130 is louder than in other cars. Under that speed it is fine.

    • @axelbeer1000
      @axelbeer1000 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@BatteryLife Andreas Haehnel measured at 130 km/h, 62.2db for the eNiro and 66.4db for the Id.3. So the ID.3 is 4.2db louder than the eNiro and that is a lot louder. But I don't know where this difference comes from. I drive an eNiro myself. And the background noise comes mainly from the trunk. This is uncomfortable, although it is not louder than other cars.
