    Thank you for sharing this video : so inspiring to explore limited choices of hues ;
    I liked also to see the mixing on the palette ; 👨‍🎨

      Thanks. I still refer to this palette all the time when I need an interesting color or want to remember how to get a certain color. It’s a great learning exercise for sure. Need to do more of these with different colors for sure.

    I'm going to do this tomorrow with the Zorn palette and then I want to do it with another limited palette that I choose. This video was really lovely to watch and your explanation of how you got to the second group of color mixing helped me understand correctly what exactly was being mixed. Up until seeing that, I was really confused about that bit. Thanks!

      @@RLDSTUDIO I think the more colors you add the more you loose the “soul “ of a painting...I guess it depends on the subject matter...I’m watching your old barn painting video and you hit it on the head ...I just love low chroma work ....it definitely does give you a different feel

      Art Student649 yeah I have sooo much I want to explore with painting - subjects, style and color. It’s a never ending challenge. Thanks for the feedback - good stuff.

    Great chart. What additional color did you use for the 6-12 swatches in the three experimental columns?

    • @RLDSTUDIO
      @RLDSTUDIO  4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I used the same 4 colors, just experimented with different combinations. Some of them were exactly the same, I just arranged them differently to see how they affected each other side by side. I remember wanting to see if the yellow / black combo would look more green next to the cad red. Stuff like that.

    Are you up for a challenge if so I dare you to make a paint chart based on the Prismacolor color pencils.

    • @RLDSTUDIO
      @RLDSTUDIO  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Sounds interesting - tell me more. What do you have in mind exactly? Trying to match prismacolor pencils with paint colors or using prismacolor pencils to make a color palette? What kind of color palette? Full spectrum or limited?

    Very helpful. I'm making a chart for myself the way you have explained it. What app are you using during the video?

    • @RLDSTUDIO
      @RLDSTUDIO  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I used adobe illustrator to make the digital chart, but that was just for the video explanation afterwards. Is that what you were asking about?

      @@RLDSTUDIOAt the 36 second mark, your phone is on the table and it looks like maybe an app to maybe help measure ... The screen on your phone says 'Charango'... Just wondered if it helped you draw the chart or something. Thank you!

      Thanks. This one took me about 2 and a half hours. I could do it much faster now having done it once. It has been really useful to reference when needing a specific color. Learned a lot about color mixing just with this simple exercise.

    What's the music during the time lapse?

    • @RLDSTUDIO
      @RLDSTUDIO  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      It's a song from the free youtube audio library in the creators studio. Can't remember which one - but I found it under the ambient genre. I'll look through my files and let you know if I can find the exact song.

    This is a very pretty way to learn more about color mixing! Your visual on ratios was very helpful to me. The resulting painted palette is a cool artwork in itself. Hope to do this exercise one day too.
