I’ve always found that for performance speed ropes (under 1/4 pound ropes) were best in order to do as many double unders as possible and should only be used once you have perfected them but in order to learn double unders a slightly heavier rope (quarter pound or half pound) is best in order to feel the rope and get the movement down.
Dan i joined rope skipping as a sport in my school 8 or 9 days i was rope jumping for 3 months and when i got in school they give me another rope ehich length around my hip and now i can't even hop but i look forward to learn run in place or jog and after learning jog they say i should buy i speed rope is it okay Btw love your videos❤
sir , i need help i am 21 year old male when i do jump rope even for 3-4 minutes(with rest of 20 sec after every 1 min) , my heart rate goes to about 240 .. (i have no heart problem) i dont feel anything wrong now , and that exercise is also comfortable.. is that heart beat normal for jump rope or it is dangerous

No one in my public school liked the beaded rope it was always a rush to grab a good jump rope before the beaded ropes were all that was left. 😂

what gave me the most in progresion DB is 6oz crossrope's rope. I highly reccomend but with one remakrs please always jump on mat( weak durability)

i mean speed ropes have their place and plenty of people like them but I prefer something slightly weighted, it'll help you learn those tricks, trust.

i dont use any monitor, i count heart beat immediately after jumping by hand for 10 sec and multiply by 6
you need to take rest periods and let it come down in between intervals. you'll adapt
