  • Inside the remnants of the grounds of Worsley New Hall and it's now derelict and flooded (A.A.O.R) Anti Aircraft Operations Bunker!
An extremely creepy explore but one brimming with history. Well worth getting my feet wet.

I grew up about a mile from there. Spent many a happy hour, day, and week in the 70’s & 80’s exploring all over there incl. Middlewood, the Bridgewater Canal, and old mines workings. Happy days!

Me and a few mates in 1968 went into that bunker at Worsley went in through the now block door at 12:26 on video, there used to be a scout camp nearby which we stayed at. When we visited it there were still tables and telephones and maps in the place, remember map of the English Chanel and aircraft pinned to it. We entered through a large steel door. I'm 62 now, you have brought back a great memory of what we kids used to get up to. Shame it has been trashed since I was there.

@@MickJ666 What we got up to as kids, remember going in the Old run down Mill at Dunham Massey. Also on Sinderland Lane Broad Heath the old WW2 army camp turned into a pig farm, but there were still tin huts there with mortar shells and rife bullets all kicking around, then there was the abandoned farms on Carrington Moss. ;)

I went camping on many occasions in these grounds back in the 1980's & early 90's. The old bunker was well and truly locked up back then, but the old lake, with it's 'moon dome' duck hunt shelter, and swamp lake provided many hours of exploring.

I like your style with the intro containing the history. AAOR rooms are good locations, a lot of them are flooded though. They have a crazy echo! First time I managed to get in one it's the size inside that takes you by surprise. You did get a little bit lucky on the ground floor. There is a cross of drainage ducts cut into the floor.. You missed then when walking about. I want to visit a restored AAOR at some point, just to see how it would have looked with the perspex panels on the top level looking down and the big plotting table below. Well done, really liked this one :-)

Top vid mate brings back memories "worsley bomb shelter" we use to call it, we broke in 1999 took 2 night's to cordless angle grind the hinges of doors (which in vid are filled in now) ni cad batteries on grinders wern't great then. When you go in can go left or right and the floor plan mirrors which ever way you go eary creepy about 6 of us scary shit. We found the safe rooms and took another day to break into them thinking they was treasure in there... When it opened it must of been 3/4 feet of water it took 5 min to drain and stunk awful my 2 mates went in because they was determined to find something even though it was still holding 6inch of manky stinking water.. 3 days later he didn't come into college got a phone call of his mum saying he was in hospital and wanted to no if we had been taking drugs or something.. When admitted to a+e they was asking if he had been to India or Sri Lanka without vaccinations?!?! Turns out he caught something nasty started shutting down his liver and kidney he got lucky nhs got him well again don't thing it was deadly,
A few months past and word started getting out more people coming after drinking in cock hotel Friday night we went down with creates of beer usual stuff only to be met by greater manchester police and the scout master from camp nearby telling us to go away never come back ( 12y.o kids got on roof one fell broke his leg ) and confiscated beers etc police disappeared and scout master stuck about escorted us to the gates (begin of vid) he was telling us stories about the place he said we first little arseholes to get in there since 1991/2 when they last used it to film a series of "cracker" a detective show from early 90's and they only used upstairs. Think we were first in them safe rooms considering what happened to my mate with all the malaria skanky shit he caught what ever it was.. also at around 24min in your vid your in what we called the "coms room" looks into next floor below and on wall use to be printed a map of the world with airports plane travel lines China Russia USA military bases and all sorts of info we couldn't work out.. some people use to say it was cold war era, also we found hidden rooms found to the left a huge room which technically when you walk around the building your on roof of the room must of 24 x 12 metres and had 2 stairwells going down which had been filled in - so it went deeper!
We got back in with grinders again in 2000 and the drinks and party's continued but it was starting to flood in rain we traced leak to safe room and tree routes and I think now after time it's constantly flooding.
By 2001 it was no secret and people would blazingly go there in day light girls from local area would get on roof and sun bathe topless no dog walkers could ever see great views aswell
Think it was 2002 when some illegal rave scheme found out about it and through an event on there 1000+ people turned maybe 2k though in morning people from Newcastle liverpool Leeds ect for the party ... obviously police were called and some then them doors have been filled in stairways taken down in the building and maybe sealed up the secret room which isint on vid. Good work great vid mate
I believe it's now knocked down they building a royal garden on there now so this footage is now rare!!

Seems was a ramming construction when in use, so many levels, from other comments on here, not least the door grinders and clearly THE time to have gone theere with wall maps an that. Wonder that they raved there with all that bad water flooding it. Real shame the new hall was pulled.

@@TheUrbanCollectiveWeFilmIt hahaha yeah defo worth it they emptied the lake a few months ago to renovate it but they have filled it up again and looks a lot better tbh but the only way we managed to get in was getting on at the canal and crossing the field and entering where the moon hut is then you have the climb a wire fence to get up to the bunker, i hope the bunker doesnt get demolished
