You’re right Jon. Would have loved to have seen the layout as I knew it from its various guises. Froggies, Romeo’s, Flies. Would love to walk round that dance floor one more time, trying to cop off.
I use to go on Saturday mornings 70 years ago, and in later years the bowling ally.
@@geoffreygartside7320 would’ve been so different back then I imagine?
Used to be ghost walk around this building back in the 90,s
In th 60s when it was the Astoria, I saw Dave Dee, Dozy Mick and Titch there. 😊
That’s some time ago. Great memories I’m sure,
Who were the people you mentioned?
Theh were a 60s band x Google them.
Only ever went there once when it was Butterflies in my college days.
@@markorollo. sounds like a name from years gone by!
@@1974bazzaaa 90's, not sure when it became butterflies.
@@markorollo. I don’t think it’s the name you’d call a club these days! Or maybe you would 😂
Not much grand left in Oldham these days
Possibly not, good to remember the history though?
IT WAS GAUMONT THEN ASTORIA BALLROOM AND TENPIN AND DISCO THEN BAILEYS CABARET, WORKED ON IT THEN IN 1973
@@petermizon4344 nice, it’s certainly got some history through all those names
It was called the Gaumont when I was a kid 65 years ago
Classic cinema name!
Many a good night in Reflections in the 90s!
Was that the bar/club that’s in the basement?
Glad you can remember the nights!
@@1974bazzaaa yeah, Reflections was in the basement. All the rave tunes were played down there. It was banging on a Friday night. I was 16-17 and at Oldham college . They werent so bothered about I.D back then lol

Sorry I don’t know the answer to that, I’ve not been back since.
Demolished to make another car park l bet ..😊
Unfortunately it could be the case…sad
@@1974bazzaaa Oldham used to have the most number of cotton mills in the country as Oldham was known as King Cotton, but soon it will me known as the town with the most car parks, but no where to go when you have parked the car
@@susansaxon4780 so much lost heritage
Flats/apartments apparently.
@@markorollo. what for probably more illegal migrants
You guys need better lighting as and when you can afford of course!!
I agree- have been looking. The big dark buildings need so much light! Going to try one of those square hand held LED lights I think.
Not much to see here. I would have liked to have seen the vastness of this former cinema, club etc,. All you showed is a few boring rooms. Could be anywhere. Not interesting at all.
