Dont forget the cylinder 4 cooling mod, works well for the ej25 blocks that's in that Hawkeye and run very good oil ester based oils are the best, I'm using gulf competition 5w40 in mine
When u coat the car make sure u have a light pointed at the panel to see if u wiped all the excess off. Also wipe fast but not hard and make sure to wipe the surrounding panels of the one getting coated
You can get OEM clarity on the headlights. My 98 Z3 had the headlights professionally sanded all the way to 3k grit sand paper and then 4 UV resin coats and then a compound and polish after that and they look crystal clear as if they were new, cost me $125 and a days time. It is possible just takes time and some elbow grease or paying someone else to do it.
Everytime I see a hawk I get so happy. Also, I laughed when I saw the cracked center grille on the bumper. Everyone I know with a hawk has that either broken or cracked lmfao. Mine is just completely broken
Oof. Microfiber pads are for heavy cutting. You typically want to go two step and finish with a finer pad if you are doing heavy cutting. You’re going to be left with some haze and imperfect finish with a one step heavy cut like this. For a one step cut and polish, you typically want an all in one cut and finish polish with something like an orange pad. I’d buff this ceramic coat off and do a fine polish on the clear, then put a high quality cermaic coat on it like NV Nova or Miyabi Zipang.
I’m not mad about the part out, I’m just mad it was a aspen white and not a more common color. To me that’s like taking a rare spec M3 and turning it into a full track build where you have to cut into things. But I also know the gc8 will be even more rowdy so I’m happy it’s going into a proper build.
If you're putting the stock radio in it, you should do the green to red light mod on it. I know the earlier 6 disk w/ cassette player can be done somewhat easily with just red bulb covers/condoms. Same with the HVAC and Keyring lights. But it looks like the later 6 disk use LED's and have green plastic and are harder to color change. But if you're trying to make it 100% stock then you should leave everything the way it came from Subaru. Many years ago when my 04 STI's engine gave out it was basically the same price to go with a built motor w/ turbo and supporting mod versus going back to stock; and now I know that it would be worth more if it was completely stock.
Someone sold their 30k mile 06 sti for 22k back in 2017. Some how we got it for 21k but they are really worth more than 30k especially with the right buyer. I’m willing to bet you keep looking around and something will pop up eventually or wait a bit cause the car market is insane and in a year or two everything should be cheaper once it died down.
Without a doubt these cars are going up in value in the next 5-10 year. All my favorite cars from the McLaren F1, Toyota Supra mark IV, Nissan Skyline GTR R34, and now quite possibly the Iconic WRX STI as well. I blame Gran Turismo for the ridiculous prices on these cars nowadays

You can remove the headlights with only the center grill removed btw... I've done it on my 06 when needed. ;-) Also should have posted mine before this guy sold you his LOL... 06 with 79k miles in Steel Grey Metalic Beautiful car though. Always loved the WRB flagship color
water is not a lubracation bro use a quick detailer or actual clay lube this will prevent marring and scratching and try a 1 step polish instead of only a compound. so much more gloss will apear if you polish after compounding

Hit those headlights with a buffer after sanding and then do that ceramic coating over them. That should get the haze out 90-95%

How come you didn’t do a polishing stage. It gives the paint that perfect finish and gets rid of the haze cutting the paint leaves.
I would argue that the compound can be skipped and a polish is all you need, for most people.

I also used Cerekote trim restore on my entire 06 sti and it looked brand new. I used it on the rear roof vane too and it looked mint
