For anyone stressin taking apart such a nice car I feel you 100% - Sourcing out parts will take so much time we don’t have to keep moving on this build at this pace to keep putting out videos and by the time I purchase a motor, trans, brembos, rear diff, axels, etc I’m almost at the same cost as this whole car. Parts are not easy to come by for a decent price 💀 I got a really good deal on this car so I’ll have to sacrifice this car unless something else pops up. If you find a good donor car for a solid price that’s a 2005-2007 in your area DM me on Instagram please @cameronalford I’m still searching for a better donor car option, even with a blown motor so I can sell this and save money. There weren’t very many white ones made, I’d keep this and work out the roof and side skirt before stripping it and wasting it away. Definitely a keeper. Go find a wrecked one.
I found a 6 speed and an EJ207. Closed decked/built the EJ for the GTX3076. Installed new bushings, hubs, knuckles, brembos, sway bars, and coils. Removed all the rust. Seems like the thing to do these days.

In future, you REALLY should prime the new oil filter when changing it - that is to say you fill it (fully) with oil before fitting it. It's a good precaution to take with these engines!

Honestly I'd rather have an etune on a Subaru since you can really dial in drivability over the course of a month with more revisions as apposed to a few hours on a dyno. New maps take time to learn.
Thoughts on the oem Mazda rx8 oil filters for our cars? Heard nothing but good things. Also, the fujimoto oil drain plugs make oil changes a breeze and a must IMO. As an RSTI owner myself (full 06' swap/400whp) I can't wait to see this project complete!
Dude this sti is very new and complete, it is a good deal, or I would not use it to make the GC8, I would buy a new engine and leave the interior of the gc8 that is factory oem like the original Gc8 22b
shame to have to pull that old girl down to be a donor but understand why you have to mate. I have a GF8 WRX and they are so much fun to drive once you set them up. Cant wait to see where you go with this mate 🤘

I'm thinking about buying this 2004 subaru wrx near me its cheaper which is scary he has paper work for jdm motor swap near clutch new trans bunch of engine work alls he said is needs new tune cause of motor swap but runs and drives good now but don't get on it cause its goes into over boost. Any ideas where I should start with maybe checking it out. Compession is good and no smoke or leaks. Just weird hes selling for so cheap

Don’t tear it apart it’s such a clean car, you can go on copart to find wrecked STIs for a fraction of the price with all its interior and exterior
Def look at auction lots for wrecked STIs, there should be a lot available knowing most STI owners lol. erepairables and copart come to mind
i mean just sell the shell after and someone will buy it and have the opportunity to build something from the ground up

Those oversized oil filters can also be bought at a Mazda dealer. P# N3R1-14-302
You should have filled the new oil filter with oil before fitting it.
