I had a full hysterectomy, bladder sling & rectocele repair 6 weeks ago. I was not given a binder, nor was it ever mentioned. I had to recover without pain meds as well. Its been so fun. I hope everything is ok, internally
I have a horizontal 8” incision from a complete hysterectomy (I had a 6” fibroid between my bladder and uterus that was very difficult to remove without damaging other organs, especially my urethra and bladder) and the binder is wonderful. I’m at 3 weeks and it really helps with the ache from the scar tissue when I have been walking or doing housework.
3 days post laparascopic hysterectomy and cystocele repair. Tried 3 different binders and they all put too much pressure causing more gas pain and increased difficulty with bowel movements. Will start wearing the binder later
I just had a hysterectomy & my nurse put a binder on me 5 hours after surgery. I also purchased in from Amazon. It’s helped me feel so secure. Feeling my organs readjust inside feels weird. I adjust it as needed.
I had an abdominal total hysterectomy with bilateral blah blah blah 3 days ago. My wonderful OBGYN did give me a band and instruct me to tighten it only when i get up. He says it should be loose when i lay down or lounge. For me, the instructions are perfect because I really hate the way this thing feels. I have a short body due to back surgery with fusion and no disks. The band goes from my pelvic bone to the bottom of my bra. It's also stiff. Can you recommend some bands that are super stretchy and not too tall? Thank you!
Hello, Thank you for this useful video. I am on my third week of Hysterectomy, and I am still wearing my binder. The reason because I feel my stomach is bulging or swelling, and without the binder, I can't walk that fast. Not sure if I done the right thing. Please advise.
Have you been cleared to start some light exercise? It’s hard to know your full situation, but gradually using binder less and engaging your muscles more while you are walking might be good to try. Let me know how it goes!
@@dr.dawnhealthypelvis yes I can do some light exercises like walking slowly around my block. I’ll start to walk without the binder from today onwards and will keep you posted on how it goes. Thank you ☺️
I found that after my doctor told me to loosen the band unless I'm up and moving, my abdominal swelling went down dramatically overnight. I think the compression makes it hard for glasses to pass normally.

I had 2 opinions. One surgeon didn't mention a bladder sling, the other one did. I'm not crazy about it. The mesh wears out causes more problems.

Glad you found one that works for you!
Does it have to be a binder? Can I use just a regular elastic body shaper that I normally use under my clothes to look slimmer?

Yes, the one I linked to in the description under the video you watched is more breathable and stretches.
@@dr.dawnhealthypelvis thank you!
