  • IMPORTANT: Learn more here! Ciao, this is Chef Giuseppe, and I wanted to share with you what I cooked for lunch today for The New Modern Mediterranean Diet. Hamburger made of 80/10 ground sirloin, fresh ground by the butcher here at my local grocery store. I sized the meat at 100 g per patty, and I served it on a toasted 50 g French hamburger bun, fresh baked this morning from my local bakery.
    Once a month, I like to run this sandwich with The New Modern Mediterranean Diet testing that I have been doing here in Florida, USA, and as you know, you can have 2 intakes of red meat a week for the Mediterranean diet food pyramid. Between all the selection of e-recipes I have created, this is the most requested beef along the steak dinner.
    As you can see in the video, I have used extra virgin olive oil to cook it-just the right portion to fit along with all the other weekly meals in the Mediterranean Italian pyramid weekly allowance.
    Yes, it sounds complicated to apply the Mediterranean Diet to your table correctly, and IT IS! Don't worry, after 2 years of studying it, testing and writing recipes, and adjusting them, I have it all organized for you! I remind you that I am a certified Executive Chef and a dietary manager, and I have been doing this for 35 years as a job.
    Ok, let's go back to this video. Sometimes I talk to much...I cooked the hamburgers on medium heat for about 3-4 minutes each side till I had passed the safe temperature of 160 degrees F, and I served them with fresh peas and squash sides, with the right proportion of extra virgin olive oil, salt, vegetable quantities, and so on. You know the technical parts!
