China has a lot more different terrain, such as hills,.desert, mountains, snowy ..etc than Australia, I suppose their cars have all been designed and testes in those terrains already!!
i heard recently that chery will start following in the steps of kia, by testing and tuning all their future cars in australia, should bode well for all future chery vehicle
Chery sells in Turkey like crazy, it's the no. 1 car seller recently. What's better is that they sell cars with DCT dual-clutch transmission it's much better than shitty CVT.
I have the GWM Cannon x(Chinese) I drove from Dubbo to Brisbane 800kms today composed easy overtaking road trains 2 years strong and still impressive always surprises me
Come on- Melbourne to Hamilton is all main roads that are sealed. You'd need to deviate for those gravel sections. I used to do that trip regularly and my 1984 Holden Camira survived it many times back in the mid to late 1980's. I'm sure the roads are a lot better now.
@vincentmothapa2421 it's the title "Cheap Chinese SUV in OUTBACK Australia... Can it SURVIVE ". Even the gravel roads were nice and smooth. It was a disappointing "test" to drive it on essentially normal everyday roads. There was no "outback" driving at all. Any vehicle would survive the roads driven.
I’ll be honest I did enjoy this video over your usual banter with Jacob. You guys are both good just abit over the top with the back and forth with you guys.
Nice review. Great job. One observation, directed at several reviewers. I think it’s time to quit complaining about driver monitoring systems. Manufacturers don’t have a choice but to fit them now for 5 stars. So criticise ancap, not the car brand. Apart from that, excellent review.
Yes and no. I’m not mad it’s there, I’m annoyed it’s so poorly calibrated. Some brands, like BMW, have done a better job at making sure it recognises when you’re interacting with the infotainment display vs using your phone. Hope that makes sense 🫡
I wonder why geely is not yet entering your market. I think their okavango, azkarra, tugella, coolray, and monjaro can compete there. I personally own a Geely sedan and I chose it because of the better design, built, fit and finish among its other chinese rivals here. Tho i think Geely focuses more on the middle east, our current line up is a year behind from their latest offerings in china and the middle east.
I drove my AU Falcon to Ayers Rock last year, aircon flat out the whole way and got 7.2 litres/100km. And tbh I don't think many Cherys will do that after 23 years and 500000km.
Oh...and Hamilton isn't the outback mate.... It's just an outer Melbourne suburb really..... Go to Cameron's corner and back, then you can call it the outback....😅
I am an owner of Chery tiggo 7 Pro 2024 so far I love it, economical and comfortable, I live in Gcc’s and temperature here gets upto 52C and AC blows cold air with no issues I don’t have any complaints but the only thing bothering me is that there is the little vibration that would make the passenger seat shakes and squeaks, the intro music also bothers me too, the reverse camera mode also is very slow at showing the live image, but overall I love it, great video mate, cheers
@@venasm I didn’t like the Cherry 4 Pro shape even though they had the same engine, Cherry 7 pro looks more like European cars, and they have almost same price 6300 BHD on road from the agency with 1 million klm warranty, go to cherry showroom and check both of them, you will fall in love with tiggo 7 pro definitely 👍, if you have any other inquiries feel free to ask

It's quite bad bc of my Haval Jolion, i now hardly pay attention on the highway and its now just a habit. It just drives itself down highways so so well that i never worry.
I recently purchased Tiggo 7 promax AWD. Used to be a BMW man. I'm was pleasantly surprised by how far Chinese vehicles have come with quality. In the past we related Chinese products to being of poor quality but not with the Chery. Really impressed.
I just spent several weeks in Australia with a rental Haval Jolian HEV and in Northern Queensland and then a MG HS in and around Darwin and the NT. Now I am in Thailand with another new Haval Jolian HEV. I have found all of these cars to absolutely fine, good even. I covered a lot of kms in Australia on good and crummy roads, no trouble at all and the case is the same here in Thailand with this latest Jolian which is the current gen. I really like it, I have enjoyed all of these Chinese cars. I have been pleasantly surprised to say the least. Note: I found the driver monitoring and lane keep on the older Jolian was more agressive and "in your face" than on the new Jolian I am driving right now. The new one is a big leap forward in smoothness. I have to say that at home in the US I have a SUbaru Outback with all the tech and i HATE it. I mean, I would not buy another one. The new Jolian is much better than the Subaru. One gripe with the Jolian and maybe I just haven't figured it out is how to easily adjust temp and fan speed. WTF Haval! Why do I have to turn it all off and back on again to get the HVAC screen- maybe I don't but I could not figure it out!
Outback? Between Melbourne and Hamilton? Seriously? If you really want to test it in the outback, try taking it up the Birdsville Track, or across the Simpson Desert like Mitsubishi did with the Outlander PHEV. It would be very interesting to see how it holds up in that sort of environment.
I do love watching your show, but did I hear you right, can it survive the Aussie outback and you drove from Melbourne to Hamilton in Victoria. Well, I think I need to give you a little lesson on what and where the outback is. I know and i nearly live there, well, some people think it's the outback, Exmouth WA,1250k's north of Perth, stinking hot, been over 49c and this summer, weeks and weeks of over 40c everyday and no rain for 8 months. But, the true outback really starts a few 100k's inland from Exmouth and I think you would die there. So, if you really want to test the Chery in the OUTBACK, start in Exmouth and head east, do the CSR, the Gunbarrel Hwy, good luck with that.

I second barracking for cheap Chinese cars, despite what some boomers think; we aussies own NOTHING to legacy car brands over the Chinese because no one makes cars in Australia anymore. Chery, Haval (going back to Great Wall) and MG are very typical Asian car makers these days; Which means reliable, easy to service and repair, and great value. Things you just don't get from american or euro brands anymore.
They are all sealed roads, what are you talking about the Australian outback🤭?. What Ballarat Victoria 🤔, that's a capital city to more than half the world & best roads they've ever seen😂!.
