In China, this car has stronger power, 197 hp, 290 Nm, and a fuel consumption of only 6.8L per 100 km. I have been driving for over a year and have not had any malfunctions for over 20000 km.
@@Sevan59I mean, caoa cherry has been selling cars in Brazil for almost 10 years now. They use the 1.6T from Hyundai, pretty reliable engine. They also have the entry version engine with the 1.5T flex (gasoline or ethanol)
I like it. It’s not bland and boring like Mazda and Toyota. The level of tech and conformity for the is amazing
Boring for whom?? Are you implying that Toyota and Mazda drivers are driving boring cars??😢😢
@@kolelegodi6022 boring user designed overrated over priced. Biting heaps had a Toyota but not anymore
Thank you for your review. Very informative and no biases. I bought this car with this review in mind. It's been a great 1 week now, so far.
Still happy? Any dramas? What about those constant warnings? Can you get rid of them?
Just yesterday I was scanning your channel for this car review and today it's here. THE UNIVERSE IS GIVING ME A SIGN. 😅
Hi Paul, firstly, I enjoy your reviews and trust your opinion, great work. I bought an Omoda5 and I love it. Actually I'm on my second one because my initial one was written off after getting T-boned when it was still less than 24hrs old. Thankfully zi got a replacement through my insurance with AAMI, I agree the beeps and bongs can be a bit annoying but I appreciate the high levels of safety tech built in, the lane keep assist and driver attention monitoring can besbit over sensative but at the same time do a good job in keeping me focussed. The safety tech didn't really get a chance to activate because I was hit on the side when a driver failed to give way and came flying out if an intersection onto a pretty busy main road here in Perth, I didn't even see him and neither did the car, thankfully the airbags and seatbelt tensioners saved me from any injury and no other cars were involved, the braking did kick in when itsensed the collision and stopped my car really fast. I was very impressed with the safety in that crash, I love the car, especially the cameras and remote unlock/lock functions as well as the hands free boot opening when you step up to the boot, wait for the lights to do a little dance, take a step back and the tailgate lifts without having to put any bags down. I also like the voice assistant, I thought it was a bit of a gimic at first but I use it lots to control the aircon, radio, sunroof. Overall I really rate the car and the brand, I'm very happy with it and the 1.5 turbo engine is just right for what I need, punchy enough and frugal enough at the same time, I'm unlikely to get into any trouble with it which is a good thing in my book. It's a lovely place to be behind the wheel and has the good looks from every angle to make it appealing to walk back to which shouldn't be underrated. It still turns heads because there aren't many on the roads yet but I expect that to change.
Keep up the good work, cheers, Duncan from Perth WA
Thanks for the great review Duncan. Are you happy with the sound system and speakers, and do you miss the lack of a dab+ radio)
@@dechah , I'm happy with the system, I typically listen to FM Radio bir a Spotify playlist through Android Auto. The sound quality is pretty good.
This is one of the Chery models we get here in South Africa and its selling really well. Been on the market for about 2 years since the brand relaunched here but they're already outselling most of the other competitors in the segment and it's not even their most popular model. I think the newest Tiggo 8 Pro Max is the model that will impress most though so I look forward to seeing reviews on that too.
Just a question? Did people have any problems with this particular model since it was released in South Africa? Australians are too conventional and when it comes to China products the don’t have good things to say.
@@marcellxxx6259 Not that I know of, Chery has a much better brand image since they launched these cars here and they're really turning the market, first it was Haval but Chery seems to be making a possibly even bigger impact. Their upcoming models here look extremely good aswell.
@marcellxxx6259 so far we haven't experienced any problems with them in South Africa. Their after sale services are great and they really are best value for money....we are really appreciating them this side
@@kabelobrian4540 that’s great to know. Thank you so much for your reply. Hopefully the ones here will be the same.
@@marcellxxx6259just to let you know here in Indonesia for at least 2 years, We also don't have any serious issues here. No sarcastic memes or stuff.
And their after sales is very good so far. Even I think its much better than our mainstream Japanese competitor.
WOW! This is an amazing car.
Excellent Cherry Tiggo7 review!
Paul, love your reviews, superbly done as always. Own an Omoda 5 EX, have done 12.000 klm. Ride, performance, economy, reliability, features are all fantastic and i do 4 hour drives Brisbane to Childers every few weeks. TECH - Is truly truly horrendous. Lane assist and emergency lane keeping will kill you if you let it, auto braking slams on the anchors for no reason, the tech removes the driver from many situations and that is just dangerous. I turn off as much as I can but every time you stop the car, for fuel, for coffee, for groceries, every single time it all has to go off again. Phone charger OVERHEATS the phone and I mean any phone, turn that off, but it stays off at least. Apple car play - if you drive the car without your connected phone it DOES NOT find the phone next Time you are in the car and reconnecting can take 10 goes, if my wife drives the car for example and i am not in the car, good luck getting your iphone connected again. Rear tail gate supposed to open if you stand behind the car with the key in your pocket…..it doesn’t, yet it used to. Adaptive cruise will kill you if you let it as it slams on the anchors if you are about to overtake a car in the left lane, i am accelerating to pass and it thinks i am going to run up the back of the car and overrides my choices. How they were allowed to sell this car with this tech being so dangerous astounds me. Would I by the car again? NOPE. If I could get my money back, I would take it in a heartbeat and buy either a Haval H6 GT or a BYD Atto 3.
Perfect example of Chinese manufacturers rushing their horrible cars out here to make a buck. Yet even still youd buy another Chinese car. Never learn
I drove in tiggo 7 pro here in Serbia and adaptive cruise control worked perfectly even on twisty roads ,maybe little slower on acceleration when you pass the car ,i got used to my older which has more aggressive adaptive cruise acceleration
My tech stuff on Tiggo 7 Pro all work as expected. I'm amazed at what it can do so far. ACC works for me too.
A nice and useful review, Mr.Maric..
I love the car,,,great reviews Paul
Did the car trigger the Hazard Lights after going over the corrugated bumpy road? 14:48
I test drove an Omoda 5 today and really liked it, pretty quick off the mark and nice to drive. Also drove a Haval Jolion Ultra Hybrid which was nice as well, felt a bit more power in that a bit smoother. Didnt like the dial gears and the indicator stick on the left will take some getting used to. Test driving the Tiggo on Wednesday so looking forward to see how that compares. Sat in it at the dealer and was much nicer than the Omoda in terms of space and comfort. Great vids!!
Thank you Paul. Your review was very helpful and straight to the point. I’m just waiting for the ANCAP safety ratings to come through so I can buy it. 👍👍👍
Let’s hope so. I think has been tested and just waiting for the reviews
Paul will you review the Jetour Traveler when it comes out?
I saw some other reviews stating that the gear shifting lags... What is your experience with it?
Paul, Thanks for informative video. Always enjoy the detail in the presentation. Thanks for including the db reading as suggusted. Another suggustion you can put in video if possible is show which side the indicator stalk on steering column. It is deal breaker for me if indicator stalk on other side(EU/US style). I hate being idiot with winscreenwiping at each intersection when it come to changing cars.
When can we expect a review of the BYD Seal? Picking mine up in a week 🎉
An interesting feature with this vehicle is the ability to operate many functions with voice control. That little face in the upper screen will operate heating/cooling functions and even operate the sunroof automatically for you. Neat..
Amazing value for money. Very impressive tbh.
for 40k, its a bloody nice looking interier and car, there kinda growing on me haha
Hello sir,may you please view the Tiggo 8 Pro Max
Amazing how the Chinese managed to do entry level luxury convincingly without the chintzy veneer of slapped on luxury, as early Korean cars did trying to go upmarket were, heck even Japanese-luxury was very tack on tacky before the LS400. But makes sense when you think about it; while China is not as cheap labour wise as it once was; business cost spiralled out of control in the west. Everything; executive/investor expectations, energy and bureaucracy: 2010's stripped out $15k econobox barely manage a profit for double now. Gives China lots of breathing room for margins.
Totally. Agree. It makes me laugh people spend over 55K foe the level of whst the Chinese are do7ng to thousands less
One theory I heard, which I think is rather realistic, is that the Chinese auto market is flooded with all kinds of different car makers, there's tough competition among domestic brands, joint ventures, and other foreign imported brands. Domestic brands must try to survive the Chinese market contest (tech, design, value, performance etc.)before they can make it to the overseas market. Only those that can stand a foot in the domestic market can have their vision onto other markets. And what is the result after the selection pressure? Basically unbeatable value within the class!
10:23 Listening to that start up music made me think of that scene from Shrek, where they're watching that welcome song by the little wood puppets, after they enter that city to meet the short king for the first time. lol
would love to see night view with all the lights on as users will use the vehicle not just day time but night time a well.
you can turn off the welcome screen, is it like the omoda GT where you have press button to close the door on the boot?
This model is a huge success here in South Africa
Where is the boot lever in the car for the tiggo 7
Bought an Omoda 5 a month ago, love it and no complaints 😎
Amazing review Paul like always!!! Just curious about the door test though. I see it in all your reviews. What are you really testing there?
Build quality and strength of the steel in the door. If it sounds tinny. Usually thin and cheap steal.
nice that cherry has improved
Congratulations to tiggo 7 pro for achieving the best score of 5 stars in the ancap safety crash test
Hello, what is the name of the program you used for the zero to hundred test?
p-gear,You also need to purchase its matching GPS signal receiver to complete the test.
Like to see how it fairs mechanically overtime
Has any manufacturer ever removed the annoying beeps? Is there something in the safety testing that says they must be on by default otherwise they lose their rating?
I tested the tiggo 7 today and surprisingly there were no sounds at all. They told me that there was an update but I'm not sure about that
The established car makers need to get their act together especially on pricing otherwise these new Chinese entrants will eat them for lunch.
Hi Paul, am lookng frwd to your review on JAECOO J7 and JETOUR T2 , they are both cars by CHERY ; will be interesting to know your side verdict
This car turns super smooth
is there a facelift or is this tiggo 7 pro MAX model
It will be good if you can show what the lights look like at night. Just a suggestion.
Glad you enjoy it. I’m picking mine up tomorrow and I’m very excited.
Lots of features you didn’t mention. Like the awesome voice control, the interior lights and many more of the safety systems.
You clearly accelerated up to 110km/h before you hit the breaks. And then compare the result for 100km/h -> 0. Do you test all cars the same way, from 110km/h?
Also speedos are under. The stopping was called from gps phone
My sister has the other Chery model and i drove it recently up at Forster NSW, I was really surprised how good a drive it was, enjoyed it a lot, but then I came home to Sydney and bought a Subaru Outback AWD sport..😄
Test drove this the other day. For the price quality feels and look is above and beyond. Cabin feels european in quality. Dct can be a little fuzzy tho. But its got the power. Aircon isnt to strong or it was just too hot during that time. But yeah from old chery. Theyve gone a long way with this.
The Tiggo 8 will be interesting
Luxury, like the interior.
For the money i dont think there js anything better on the market. Chery have come a long way since the days of the J5(my dad had one and it was aweful)
Sorry Paul, but I have to disagree with your wish that manufacturers provide the ability to switch off safety features that are annoying. Surely it would be better that the features get improved to the point of not being annoying 😊
Paul,good job
I'd like to see speed accuracy added to your testing, at 60,80,100. Kia and Hyundai are normally well out and it's an annoying thing to live with.
Finally the Tiggo 7 pro! Love the reviews Paul.
Also, The Tiggo 8 Pro Max comes with 390 NM of torque.
Love your videos from Pakistan 🇵🇰
Bloody hell who designed this car, so practical
Listening to your review, you sounded quite happy apart from those techos alerts.
Are you happy to give 8/10 for this vehicle Paul?
Hopefully they will manufacture hybrid version on this model.
Interior and exterior looking good with reasonably good performance based on your comments. Looks like Cherry 🍒 has done some good work there, lets hope its reliable/durable.
The appearance design of tiggo 9 is very beautiful, but it is a pity that it has not been introduced in Australia yet. Cherry has dozens of models, but only two are currently on the market in Australia. Subsequent models will be more beautiful and smarter, but will also be more expensive.
Nice looking interior for soo little
I hope chery bring their newly announced co-design with Huawei Luxseed S7 in Australia. that car looks astonishing!!!!
You are pretty up to date😂. The s7 with Huawei' ADS 2.0 will blow away any car in Australia

China bashing would cook up the story Huawei has backdoor espionage. US politicians even made foolish allegations Huawei can remote control your car.
Goo-dae Paul.
Love the omoda 5 so far
Hi Paul I actually bought one to discover max payload is about 380 kg with the ultimate. This is based on Gross Vehicle Mass minus Tare Mass, assuming 10 litres of fuel. However additional 47 litres is about 34kg and 4 adults conservatively averaging 80kg is another 320kg then add luggage? This car is so easy to exceed the safe GVM and markets as a 5 seater. Perhaps you include this in the reviews. Happy to be proved wrong as the operator handbook talks about laden and unladen weight. Nice if they use standard motoring terms. If correct a lot of drivers will be compromised by unwittingly exceeding safe payload.

Can you please review the cherry tiggo 8 pro or 8 pro max, either is fine🙏🙏. Btw, big fan of the channel. When I need a detailed review of a car, this is where I go. I'm supporting all the way from South Africa, keep creating this great content❤🔥❤🔥❤🔥
@@SZ-lz1id oh ok cool. Now I understand why it has not been reviewed yet. Thank you
@@wilsonkaygee979i dont know why, every model of Chinese car arrived Australia delay than other countries. like mg 5 which just start sale in Australia but that is 2-3years old model . This happened to chery, gwm, byd mg.
Nice car, but really those rear taillights should be full led, given the Omoda 5 has full led taillights!
That drum and bass music is easy to remove 😊
Does it come with free asbestos like back in the day?
You can turn off the start up song and mute most warning sounds in the settings.
Is it the manufacturers fault or regulation requirements for all the bings and bongs on the vehicle? I heard EU requires a lot of these to be set as default to pass??
for the welcome music go to local setting - sound - boot music set it off
Would make a very suitable artificial reef

I’ve never liked how the back side window runs downward on some of these new cars , otherwise I like the car
No complaints about the halogen tail lights? Didn't like them on the Toyota Corolla Cross and others, but no issues here...?
@CarExpertAus but no complaints about it? He said it was "disappointing" Toyota didn't have LEDs but no mention of the same "old tech" in the Chery.
$42k doesn't exactly make this a cheap car either.
@@bigdirtyfreighttrains951 It’s a bargain compared to a RAV4 and much nicer than a Corolla Cross. Very cheap on Toyota’s behalf.
3:31 it passed the door-slam test, the handle didn't fall off .... even though it's made in China😮 👍👍👍👍

I wouldn't buy a Chinese owned/made car even if they were the only cars left on the planet, I would rather walk.
People don't realise that China is our enemy & want us all dead ....🤷
I would suggest you to use it for short period, I'm afraid it won't last long (but CMIIW), I do believe these chinese brands are getting more reliable despite the sticker price.
People forget this is new Chinese not old Chinese they will proved themselves by making reliable cars and SUV how many years haval here people saying how long it will survive not even a year 'Chinese ' it will be dead still kicking and reliable, cherry tiggo 7 will be the same and very powerful engine than many existing SUV in south Africa.
You reap what you sow, Nanny State would be furious since two star J11 endangered teen drivers but banned in Vic for no ESC vulnerable to 18 year olds.
The bings and bongs are the result of everyone wanting the latest and greatest safty rating... being able to turn it all probably defeats the purpose of having them.
Why have you never done a Peugeot
You start it up and it sings the Xi love you song.
Make it like a phone, user adjustable notifications and alarms - and give the lane centering code to Volvo because theirs is horrible.
The best part of the interior is it’s not all black like most of the others 👍 however the welcome music and the automatic switch on of those bloody annoying safety features has crossed this one off my list. Why do they do it !!! Just put them in the car so you can enable them if you choose to and then leave the car in that mode permanently, they just distract the driver. 🤨. The 95 fuel was the last straw for me. Pass
Looks like a smaller Ssangyong Rexton
I decided against the & 7 Pro as I was upset that they bought in the model with the cheap fake looking plastic (in front of the passenger seat) instead of the model they get in (right hand drive) South Africa that has beautiful (fake) leather right across the dashboard
I pick up my Chery Tiggo 7 Pro Elite in about an hour or so.....
It is probably the most compelling offering so far, but those sounds and features are overdone, they need to be gentle and not annoying. That's a no unfortunately from me.
I'll wait for the new improved omoda 5. This is just too big for me. Great car, though
What's with all the comments from the bikini bots? Hopefully you guys are not paying these bots to get your numbers up, as you don;t need them!
🤔 Its strange that so many users have a 4 digit number at the end of their name, does make it look like bots or users set up to comment and vote 🤷 oh well who cares.
just got my red with black roof elite model. could not be happier.
Why you would buy this over a BYD Atto just baffles me.
Why compare electric vehicles with fuel vehicles? The opponents of byd atto 3 should be cherry omoda e5 and cherry eq7. and the higher model icar 03. It’s just that they haven’t been introduced to Australia yet.
Yo gano eso en la colonia

Not at all, i tested the car today and it's realy nice and a lot of power. I was surprised
