I was just about ready to throw my G502 Hero out the window. After dabbing some isopropyl alcohol into the switches, the right mouse button no longer glitches. Thank you for making this video!
I sincerely believe the issue isn't the switches but the enclosure design. When Logitech moved from the G500 to the G502 design they increased the gap size between the buttons significantly and it allows much more "stuff" underneath the clicker buttons. I've noticed detritus get stuck in the gaps on this mouse that would have not have been an issue on a G500... I think it's just dirt and dust and finger grime falling into the clickers that make them stop--not the clickers failing because of construction flaws or mechanical failures.
Regardless of if this issue comes back tomorrow or the next day! thank you for showing me how to sort it. Can't believe a little fix like this actually works and I done it along side your video!
Since the mouse wasn't working, I considered opening it up to see what was wrong. However, I decided to try a simpler solution first and blew into the mouse from the outside. Surprisingly, this seems to have fixed the issue for now. Edit: it still sometimes glitches but works better overall Another Edit: I've Bought a new mouse....
Good guide, but a word of warning - if your other switches are fine, don't try to clean them with ISO. I fixed my right click issue with this vid, and then cleaned the rest of the switches, and another one failed. Just focus on the switch that has the issue.
Have this mouse, have this problem, noticed it helps to lean finger to one side of the clicker for me to let it be bearable but its ruining my FPS experiences so i need to try this NOW! thank you for this, very good video btw.
I haven’t tried it lol, but I didn’t at least do some cleaning on the underside a bit more and I think that did help. I definitely think this video is a fix for this though if you try it
Thanks so much, fixed the right click glitching on me. It's an old mouse I've had for 7 years now but my absolute favorite. Btw the amount of dust and dander at the bottom of my mouse was very shocking lol thanks again for saving me money from buying a new one.
Welp. Feels good not to get agitated on my clicker anymore. There was only one part that was unclear to me. So I recommend anyone on this step ( 05:35), to look for a complimentary video. What I did was using my available tools to get in between and lever appart the two.
@@skazi984 Thanks, I looked at your comment and tried to repair the switch, now it's fixed! But I just pop it off and reattach the switches thats all, I didn't have to swap the switches.
THANK YOU BROTHER I was going to go to repair shop which would be a pain aside from the cost I would need to drop my mouse and go without one for a day or two but now it works. Hopefully it won't break anytime soon cuz I'm broke af rn
Usually this type of fix is only temporary. If you're handy with a soldering iron, or know someone that is, I recomend replacing the switches with TTC Gold 80M.
It's Isopropyl Alcohol also called IPA. 90% + concentration, the higher the better but minimum of 90%, 70% has too much water in it. available at places like CVS Walgreens Target...
Hey! Anybody may help me? I have a G502 Hero, and the Scroll left and right click just weird, sometimes work perfectly, sometimes the left decide to not work only after a 100 clicks, but then the right may do the same. Any idea what could cause that?
I have discovered, and tested extensively a much faster and easier fix (though temporary). When your G502 main clickers are giving you trouble: Turn the mouse on it's Right Click side and give it a few forceful whacks on the desk... has worked like a charm for me.
@@rahulprasad3261 I don't think the cliclers go bad as fast as people report--I think the actual problem is the super wide gaps (compared to older versions) between the buttons let in way more dirt into the contact pads than previous versions. I think grime is the bigger problem than clicker failure.
and I was getting about ready to huck it across the room and buy a new one, thanks, though newcomers be warned, i pulled off the shell to hard cause it wasnt buding and I snapped the connector to the side light, I was able to get the power wire or whatever you call it back in and its working, but it wont lock down so I imagine its only a matter of time till the light gets disconnected, but that doesn't affect the mouse and this fixed my problems
It's obviously only going to last until more dirt gets in. It seems to me that there should be some kind of cover over the switch to keep dirt out. I really love my G502 Hero, I have 2, but they both eventually started having this problem for left click. I heard there are mice with replaceable switches, and I'm thinking of just getting one of those instead. They probably will not have the cool mouse wheel and extra buttons though, so I don't know. ☹

What is the name of the liquid you put in there?
Isopropyl Alcohol also known as IPA, get as high % as you can 99% ideal but like 70+ should be ok

Nice video. Should I go as far to take the switches apart to really get in there? Don’t really have correct tools to really get in there.
Replacing the switches would be the next step if cleaning doesn't fix
this seems to have worked for now, wonder how long it'll last
what type of alcohol do you use medical?
It's called Isopropyl Alcohol or IPA.l, you can buy it most places like CVS or grocery store. Get highest % you can find.

Cleaning or simply blowing into it will help for some amount of time. You actually have to swap out the micro switches. Which is cheap and easy.
is the micro switches of the click(r/l) you're talking about?

The harderst part was open the mouse but after that it was really easy.
Does the issue came back?
@@w1nterskull In my case it came back once but i think that it was because i did it wrongly the first time, after that it works pretty much fine.

So far having good luck with this fix. Will know better tomorrow.

Does the issue come back after a while/few days?
I did this and it fixed it temporarily but after about it a month it went back to normal, anyone know a permanent fix?
You could purchase a replacement button and solder that in, if I have to work on this one again I'll make a new video.

I eventually ended up buying a Razer Basilisk and trashing the G502, the Razer Basilisk is very similar to a G502 Hero but seems better made.
