Ride to the eclipse - Eastern Ontario

We drove to Athens, ON, (in the path of totality), parked, and hopped on our bikes. We rode to Delta, had coffee, watched the start of the eclipse until clouds obscured our view. We then continued our ride until we got cold from the dimishing heat, pulled over ti put on our fleeces and watched in awe as the sun disappeared and Venus appeared in the deep blue sky. The corona was breathtaking through the thin clouds. We rode back to our car afterwards to complete our 40km ride to eclipse all others!
