- We arrived in France and are about to explore the regions, sleeping in beautiful Chateaus, catching up with special people that you might recognize and we can’t wait to go on a hunt! The first stop took us to Colmar in Alsace to see the famous french christmas market and then we drove to Saint Sabine to stay in a beautiful chateau! The big news are about to drop in this video!

My wife and i have recently moved from Norway(where i have been living for 17 years,i am actually from New Zealand)to an island in Croatia called Brac.We bought a 350 year old stone house 4 years ago in a quaint fishing village .We decided in june this year to move down from Norway and into the house (which is now renovated)Our goal is to open an interior design shop on the ground floor of the house.Like you guys it is a big move and we are taking a big chance but so far we are pleased with our decision.

I think one of the most important things to running a chateau as a hotel or B&B is can you warm it? Expecting guests to wear hats and scarfs and jackets inside just doesn't fly and having watched a ton of these chateau vlogs, it looks like log burners are probably the best and least expensive way to go. Especially since so many chateaus come with some forest where you can get your wood. Or you don't take guests during the winter but that's a real revenue loss. I'll look forward to your journey.
Short term, true. But the EU and France are (partially) financing greener projects and since most old big properties have oil furnace the smart investment would be to replace them with geotermy, even hydro geotermy for castles with a moat, a pond or for water mills (a few are avaible for sale too)...

There are many British families running Chateaux in France as businesses and close in the winter because of the heating which is extremely expensive, especially these days.

Well hello from Brisbane ☀I just came across this video ... got to the engagement, congratulations!!! - and paused the video at that point. Zoomed back to your first upload and watched through to restarting and finishing this video so I could comment. So thrilled to have you pop up on my YT feed. Refreshing. Love your Victorian property and your audience friendly filming along with your 'funny tag' endings and storytelling. Easy viewing and listening. I know of two other Australian couples renovating French chateaus and of course I follow them. You make up the trilogy from Down Under for me. Your spa is delightful as is your property and love of animals is noted. Gentle and fun presentation from both of you. I look forward to following your adventures around France. France is in safe hands with you both and whatever property you finally decide on will obviously be lovingly and carefully restored and embellished with the most beautiful decor and styling. Exciting. I'm actually moving to a much smaller European country - hopefully within the next few weeks. A plan from a few years back that was delayed by Covid. I love France however I desire a much smaller population and land size now. Slovenia is wonderfully positioned in the centre of Europe making any trips I do to other countries so quick and easy. It's pure Europe and the people are just so welcoming. Hope you visit one day and make sure you look me up. Ciao for now 🗝

My father was an architect so I grew up with an attention to detail and design. So, I happen to have found chateau buying TH-cam channels. As you have. We are also globe trotters. Was drawn to your classical music first, your cinematic expression and of course, you are a loving couple that makes watching so enjoyable. In fact, I'm writing this at 2am with some wine and cheese, on my exercise bike ! We do what we do. I'm also writing...I never write....to encourage you to not change a thing ! aaaahhhhh, you can come to canada and still spend the same amount of money, and if your lucky you might get 3bdrms, maybe 2 or 3 bathsrms, possibly a basement, with a carport........................ hahahahahaha, maybe a fancy designer name, and about 90% of all mod coms in about 20k/sq ft ( basemnt, mainfloor, with possible guest room, and upper sleeping area ) in brick or stone............... hahahahahha, sadly the only castle in canada is in toronto and its owned by the government of ontario, i believe. isnt free economy wonderful ???? 😎😇🤔😇😎
