- It was a very special day for us, as we finally went to see our first chateau. We waited five month for this. And we can tell you that this lady was stunning!
She ticket a lot of boxes and our excitement kicked in. But we don’t want to say to much and rather would like you, to have a look yourself and tell us what you think.
We allow not to talk to much. It’s just the first chateau of many!

The chateau looks like there is no work, but the out buildings differently need a lot of work. There is your day spa and horse barn. I would say this a contender.

Funny i was a bit teary when u drove up to the Chateau i think its gorgeous, with lots of scope , imagine a bit fountain out the front . But i loved all the rooms i saw , the Green salon was gorgeous very French, and the bedrooms kept there character. And it was a good size not to big and looked to have good heating loved the fireplace and stone floor . This is very exciting. ❤

When we look at property I always followed my other half’s list of things to look at. The SHWER we call it . Structure, Heating , Windows, Electrics, and the roof. A building can look good. You have to ask the right questions.

It would be nice to hear a bit more detail on the Château's you visit. How many bedrooms and bathrooms sq meterages. What is the acerage. Is there a lake or river and a pool. I loved the finish of this Chateau.

Good start to your hunt, very pretty place and grounds, shame the church is not in great condition, I know you say it is not included with the chateau, but be careful there is not an obligation to contribute to it's upkeep in the chateau deeds! see you soon xx

Well i think that one is very charming , and still has that French feel looked to be in good condition lots of outer buildings too that have future projects loved how the old Church was close too and loved the colour of of the château and the front . I stay there and i think if u are heading to France for a holiday u want that old world French feel for where u are staying well i would anyhow . out of 10 i give it a 9 .Poor Brad it takes a bit getting used to the right hand drive sometimes its confusing .😀

Hey guys, thanks for the video. It was great to see this wonderful property. It certainly has a large amount of space and appears to be in superb condition. That would generally be a plus, but I sensed that you're seeking something that needs a bit more work? Also, this property felt a bit more like a business/commercial chateau than a home, which again, doesn't seem in line with what you have said you wanted. Anyway, this chateau is one to consider, but I'm glad you have many more visits upcoming. In the meantime, hope you're enjoying wine & baguettes!

The doors were absolutely gorgeous and so unique. Also loved the attic and would have moved insight away with that beautiful woodwork.I know it's insignificant feature but those roses were stunning too. The chateau may tick boxes, but your gut will eventually decide. I love being along for the ride. Thank you!

Entrance drive to the property is really lovely. The triple front doors are a stand-out feature. Beautiful entry and stairway. Chateau will need your personal design and taste however, in it's current state, most renovation looks cosmetic. Attic is amazing. The out buildings are incredible and huge. The grounds expansive, advanced and glorious. If this is anything to go by ... you've hit gold with your viewing choices. Obviously location, village, amenities, access, etc all play a part especially if considering clients. Amazing what you get for your money in France. Stunning first 'look'. Excited for you.

This is a fantastisch chateau! Its so beautiful with his lush green surroundings and its beautiful symetry! Don’t tell me the church was part of the estate because that would be a money pit!

I loved the beautiful front doors and that iron motif was repeated with paint on other doors inside. The park area in front of the chateau was spectacular. Good luck in your search.

Stunning house, beautiful property, the outbuildings are a jam. But the main house is ´too new´ for me, I like timber frames, wolted ceilings and exposed bricks. Anyway it is about you and I am sure you will chose the right one for you. But pool would be great for your spa.

Back in the 80s and 90s, I was doing sub contract work for a organ building company called walkers. I’m not sure whether the company is still going but they are in Brandon in Thetford, whilst I was working there, I helped to build a church organ to Seattle University I believe, I’ll try and find more details for you. WOW is right! It seems like you could move right in and focus on building out the spa instead of having to renovate the home first. Then update to your exquisite tastes over time. Very nice property! The château has a pretty square roof what makes maintenance easy, no turrets, chimneys, etc. New windows are necessesary. The outbuildings are in good condition to be renovated and dedicated to your needs…
The church is the only thing that worries me, big building, high maintenance, but what can you use it for?
Hello Stefan, the church wasn’t part of it which makes it much more easier. As you don’t have to maintain it yourself. But it looks pretty and doesn’t get used often anymore. 😊

I would assume that it’s possible to change the language of the satnav?
I would still get a structural and detailed property survey if seriously interested. The interior of the main house looks good but you don’t see the wiring, plumbing and the rest. The fact that the other buildings have been left to deteriorate a fair bit could indicate that money was sparse and therefore corners could have been cut in the main house too.

That is going take some beating.
That was a beautiful chateau! It certainly had a very nice feel to it over the video feed. Not too fancy. It had obviously had some work done to it, but not too much that had stripped away all its character. From what you showed us, it looked move-in ready, but with plenty of allowances for you both to put your stamp on it at your own pace. The outbuildings looked ripe for opportunity and it all boils down to how it "felt" to you, the price, and how it compared to whatever else you saw. Certainly, from this view, it would be hard to beat. The facade walls on one of the outbuildings looked as though they might need re-pointing, or the walls might be shifting and require a lot more work, but that's to be expected and better in an out building than in the main chateau, which looked pretty solid and watertight. But only you would know that for sure.

@@KeithWiggins-xc1sf yes there are huge victorian wooden structures and there is the chateau hotel but its not exactly like french chateaus, it would be amazing if we did have large stone old buildings that werent museums and were true chateaus/castles here in little old NZ.

Look at the guts not just fall in love. Heating systems, water systems, electric including fuse boxes, roof, insulation, windows, location for tourism.....
yes you are right. That’s what we are doing. And no offer is put in as we have to see more. But very mindful of all of those criteria’s. ☺️🏰
It's very nice but feels a bit hemmed in with the outbuildings so close to the chateau. From what I saw, no real elaborate moldings or particularly grand architecture in the rooms. Nice but kind of bland to me. There are plenty of outbuildings to build a spa with, though.
I guess it depends on what they want but the more grandeur a building has the more up keep , I watch a few or should I say alot of Chateau channels and some are very Grand but omg do they need work .

My top tipis to jointly make a very detailed list of what you want, otherwise you can be seduced by the beauty of a place that does not suit. You should consider not only how many bedrooms etc, but how far it is from a TGV line or airport, as you need visitors to reach you. How close will you tolerate a major road, how far to a bakery, a bar, a restaurant, even little things like that . We wanted to be walking distance to a boulangerie and a bar/restaurant, no more than 30 or so minutes from the TGV station (we enter from Barcelona then train where we rent a car). Everyone has different wants, you just need to be very clear on them. 🇦🇺
