- We are getting excited to go back to France in almost 10 weeks again. We have made some appointments to go and have a look at these chateaus and we are looking forward to our trip back to France and Germany for a big family reunion.
Also we are renovating our guest Cottage at our Farm. Come and have a look!

I love the first Chateau. The kerb appeal is amazing. It looks like a fairytale castle and has q lot of outbuildings. The 3rd looks more like a hunting lodge.

No.1 ticks all the boxes.I love it. I has beautiful grounds and the fairy tale castle look that guests would travel to stay. The interior is grand but not gaudy, so it feels like a home. Good luck and hope when you choose it goes smoothly.

My vote is #1. It looks like a fairytale castle and it's on 20 acres! Doesn't seem like you would be happy with only 5 acres. Did I miss how many acres on the 3rd? Thanks for showing us your first selection of properties. I was immediately taken with the 15th century chateau. It seemed the most characterful to me. Number 2 is a blank canvas - which is good if you want to put your own stamp on it.

All 3 are super and all have there own individual charm🙂I think you will get a good feeling of which Chateau is right for you once you step inside.When we saw the property we ended up buying here on the island of Brac we knew straight away that this was the one😍

I have just watched Life of Ryan, he was showing a beautiful chateau for sale and you came to mind. 28acres looks in really good condition $1,000,000 with fees,I think it's around $850,000 he also mentions the estate agents...

New subscriber here. I’m enjoying the lead up to your new future! I have been thinking that the state of rooftops are such an important aspect when choosing a chateau. The other thing I expect that you have considered is heating? I see freezing cold owners and families, I think these things are so important to your comfort. I also wonder whether those people have ever heard of the fleece lined jeans that we have here in Australia! All of the properties are really beautiful but I think my favorite is the third one. I'm a sucker for stone walls and rooms with exposed beams. All of the rooms were beautiful! I don't remember if you said how many acres that one had. My second pick would be the first one. It was also stunning.

Thanks for sharing these wonderful chateau, they each have some unique characteristics that will make your next visit to France very exciting! I realize that one of these chateau did not advertise quite as much land as the others, but I'd still recommend giving it full consideration. Some chateau do come with more hectare, but in many cases the layout of the property doesn't allow for all that land to be useful and/or visually appealing. Whereas some properties with fewer hectare may have a more ideal layout (and potentially forests, lake, pond, etc.) Can't wait to see these three chateau, and more, up close!
Thank you Michael, that’s exactly right. That’s what we learned as well. Some of the properties are leasing it to other farmers and you can’t take the land back whenever you want. So good point.

I am keeping my eyes open for anything new on the market, and we're really looking forward to your visit and hopefully seeing some of these first hand. The agents don't give you a clear idea of the locations do they? If you want us to check anything out for you, on any favourites you might find online, we could try to find it and find out a bit more about the area for you xx

I liked all of them, but personally based on the photos alone, number 3 is my favourite. I think number two, once you remove their modern furniture, it might not have such a "modern" look to it. I am not sure why people do that. I would have thought the whole point of a chateau was the historic part of it. But I guess we are all different. I didn't hear how much land number 3 had though. Naturally though, actually being there will be better, its something else to stand inside a building and get the "feel" of it.

Modern with a twist, can be done beautifully. It takes time and consideration of the elements that suit the environment. A chateau should look like a chateau! 😏☺️

Hi guys, snap I just about fell out of my chair. I was looking at the the first one at lunch time today on the le nail website, she is beautiful and I have studied her well. If you buy the place are you going to keep the donkey' s. Number 2 was a definite no go for me it was looking too tired and too much work you want to have some time to enjoy life but 3 was a better option. Heading back to work in Geelong mid March before heading home to Brittany France later in the year. Thank your for sharing your wonderful news and I look forward to your next vlog. 😊👩💼

Well I will change with you on the weather! We had ice and sleet last night over the top of snow. All trees, car,truck etc.are frozen we have pine tree limbs and Maple tree limbs that froze and busted off all over the ground. Big mess to clear up and we lost power.

No power yet running the generator. It is dark living by candles and a flashlight. The power company said maybe Tomorrow at noon. We will see. Probably be an early bedtime soon. Already dark outside.

First chateau is stunning and ticks all the boxes...that grand staircase! Wow! Chateau #2 is lovely but not enough acreage so why bother. Chateau #3 is lovely as well and with all the extra outbuildings.....sounds great! Decisions, decisions! Cheers!

I am not an expert but I would also consider buying a listed historic property (MH or ISMH). They can come with considerable tax benefits regarding property and inheritance tax, if they are open to the public or used in hospitality.

I think number 1 might serve you better with what you're looking for, it's my understanding (double check) in France you can only have five bedrooms in a B&B. Off to a good start. I would consider chateau number 2, the right mix of old and contemporary. Looks like high quality renovation. In rural areas in France buying land or forest is not such a problem.
Location is an issue, connections to the autoroute, local shops and restaurants and, of course, hardware stores/building materials. Driving an our fourth and back if you need some nails or screws can be annoying…

This is getting exciting love all 3 , u know which one u full for when u see them .. Having the land and stables would be neat because that another out let for u too . House 2 is gorgeous u have to see how good that roof is I follow another couple that have a similar one big expanse to fix one like that . 3 one is my pick just fabulously French . No pool but in time u could add one .Stables and the hunting house which u could rent out in the hunting season. All 3 dont look to need a lot of work . Please go watch Queen s Escape Chateau. There videos if buying is interesting.

for the third, we see that the work has not respected the authenticity of the castle. the second has the best work done but the first is absolutely authentic with the pleasure of having horses.and a little advice if you buy. Go see the town hall to be sure that there is no wind turbine project next to the castle
What wasn't authentic about the third one? Stone walls and exposed beams are very authentic and the rest of the rooms were like a typical chateau.
@@kimberlyearly8918 there are no stone walls for a chateau of this period. normally it is woodwork and the fireplaces as well as the floor and the staircase are too recent. look at the chain so chateaux to see restorations with old materials

Personally I love older chateaux, I have made a requirement of a minimum of two round tours with either the cone roof or battlements....I do love those witch hat roofs through!!! For your business you may want a 16-18 century chateau, with the mouldings that tends to give the vibe of luxury when they have the hand sculpted accents on the wood paneling...I love the mystery of a gothic building, not Victorian Neo-Gothic either...I am scanning the web daily and have a couple I have chosen, waiting to hear back on another as it has many attributes that I love and prefer in a property as my forever home. Did you get a chance to check out chateauxpourtous??? Lux-residence??? BellesDemures??? there is also Barnes, DanielFeau and EmileGarcin.....Engel&volkers have a few as well, Let me know when you'll be in Paris and I can show you the shops for fabrics at the best buy for large amounts...the two best actually, as most of the smaller one's are far too expensive and tourists traps!!! Best one looks to be number 3 , the first one got a lot of room the heating maybe very expensive , number 2 nice but not enough land number 3 got the land looks well set up and is very elegant . I hope u have a few more to go see because the market can move fast over there . And buyers can play off against each other when u think u have one u dont from what i seen on YT channels pleased u looking at ones that u can run straight away dont buy a wreck or one thats a 1/2 wreck . As u need loads of money and loads of time . Good luck .

in that bathroom you re-painted the floor - wouldn't it be easier to add a Vinyl wood floor or cermanic flooring?
The timber floor is nice. The other part at got a vinyl floor but the timber adds to the charm! ☺️☺️

We live on 15.5 acres in Western Canada. I have been in the horse boarding business for 22 years. Not sure what you want to do with the horses but just want you to know they are Crazy expensive and a a crazy amount of work, especially when the weather is not great. I have a indoor so I can ride all the time but still very hard to get away and find someone knowledgeable to take care of them when you want a life, and very expensive pay someone to stay.

thank you for your feedback. At the moment we are living on 20 acres and have got our two horses, sheep, alpacas and our dog Abby.
We would love to do it again. And here in Australia the animals are out all year with open boxes.
The aim would be to find a similar property, except for stables that would be nicer in winter.
