  • I absolutely loved my Steam Deck but I never realized how much I was being lied to by Valve on how well these Great On Deck games would run on the handheld. In this video I go over the highs and lows that I experienced with my time with the Steam Deck. Thanks to the Lenovo Legion Go I can have high hopes for the future of handheld pc market!

    I chose the go over the steamdeck and rog ally because what I really wanted was a windows tablet that could play triple a games, and the legion go is the closet thing to that right now. I'm very happy with the purchase.

      Man cyberpunk crashed like twice on me yesterday and FF7 remake crashed the day before. It's a problem I'm guessing you're just lucky or don't play very demanding games on it. Because in my experience it's not if it will crash it's when it will crash but to be honest I haven't had a crash in windows for a good 2 months now, chop that one up to a random windows update.

    • @GoldenNada
      @GoldenNada 5 หลายเดือนก่อน +3

      @kevosalinas right because I like what valve is doing for Linux users and it's community but let's face it the steamdeck is by far the most unstable handheld on the market yes the windows handheld are a pain to set up but once they are set up they run and the games generally work with little after install configuration ie messing with proton settings to get the game to run again because a random steam update broke it.

      @kevosalinas To me, 7 inches is too small to have a functional tablet mode using your fingers to navigate windows 11. The extra 2 inches allows me no need for a stylus. It just feels like a transformer between a tablet switch like game console and a Gaming pc rig

    • @lucashardin4682
      @lucashardin4682 5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @kevosalinas It comes with a nice hard case, so it's perfect to travel around. And plus it has a stand so you can set it on the table in front of you like an intended switch and use the joy cons. Since they have their own battery just like the switch. Doing it this way gives you full tablet mode to make it portrait instead of landscape

    Great video. I also traded my Steam Deck for a Legion Go and haven't looked back. For me it was about the screen size and the ability to use it as a tablet. I also think the real potential/versatility of the detachable controllers will come if/when third party controls hit the market.

    I wonder if this is localized issue because I haven’t had any issues with game crashes. Overall my experience with the deck has been great. However, I don’t do a lot of changes in my settings. The Legion Go is a nightmare because you have to change settings to optimize game play. I’m still struggling with having games being displayed in full screen mode. • @carth85

      That's the whole benefit of the deck, their control over the OS. The deck is more of mobile console in that sense whereas the Go is a pc and comes with all of the ups and downs of pc gaming. The good news for us PC gamers is that microsoft seems to be working on more handheld friendly versions of windows so maybe one of these days windows handhelds will catch up. I still prefer my Go, I like the extra power and control even if there is some bit of inconvenience due to the nature of windows gaming. Personally, I don't find it all that big of a deal to find out what settings I want for a game, it isn't that hard and I get a final result that was determined by me and how I want to run a particular game.

Windows has been way more of a PITA than SteamOS by far. Nothing I can't deal with but there are def. some annoyances that didn't exist on the Steam Deck. For example...I have to manually unmount my microSD card before shutting down or Windows will hang.
    Love both devices, they serve similar, but not the same functions. The Go is a gaming device, but it's also a general purpose computer for me so I bought a folding keyboard for it that fits in the case with the Go. My Steam Deck is the battery champion for when I'm travelling.

    Never had a crash but trying to tweak games to run smoothly was a FKN pain. 900p med on legion go on most games give I play 60+ fps

    The Legion Go has some big pluses. But a lot of little minuses compared to the SteamDeck. And this little minuses sum up. I have both at my hand. And as much i would like the big LLG i alway come back to this cozy warm feeling of the SD. Everything goes smooth and reliable. And it is not the OS. I run Bazzite on both. No it is tha bare hardware that seems sometimes a bit unpolished. Perhaps the next generation will be more on par with the SD.

    Even though I like my Steam Deck, I've noticed crashes in some games lately. I was playing Alan Wake one day and soon after it stopped working. The only solution was to stream the game from my PC to the Steam Deck. I'm really considering the idea to buy the Legion Go instead!

      Like I mentioned I always noticed more crashes happening after the stock proton had an update and sometimes broke some games. I had a similar issue with Yakuza Like A Dragon, I couldn’t even get past the main menu and the only way to play way to stream it. My steamdeck crashes all the time and moding games is another nightmare do too thhe fact that linux is mediocre software full incompatibility issue. Not too mention the steamdeck struggles with holding a solid 30fps on most games. Unless its indie 2d games. I will never get a steamdeck . The steamdeck crashes alot for me as well its a crashing magnet . Proton /Linux is a terrible product for gaming & because its cheap people will shill the SD while bashing all the other alternatives. Got the legion go a few weeks ago and I play it all the time! Never had any issues once I signed into the all the different accounts and the drawn out windows setup process. It was a difficult decision choosing between the steam deck and the legion go as they are both amazing handheld pcs. Ultimately what led me to buy the legion go was windows, I didn’t want to have a Linux based pc as I believe it would have worse comparability with some games I frequently play. After a few weeks of owning the legion go I never once thought I wish I got the steam deck instead the Lenovo is elite in my opinion I never deal with game crashes and it runs all the games I want to play it just needs more battery life, a 210WH power station fixed that for me now I can play games on the go for at least 4 hours

    • @kevosalinas
      @kevosalinas  5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      As a person who has owned both, I think you made the best decision! To be completely honest I mainly just run my Legion Go plugged in to an AC outlet. I am interested in getting myself a powerbank able to deliver 65w so when I actually want to take it on a roadtrip or something similar I can get home playtime🙌🏻
