It being a windows handheld also means that if you already pay for PC Game Pass for your desktop, the Legion Go natively supports those games too. That's a big library of games I would have to buy separately on steam if I wanted to play on the steam deck. You could install windows on the steam deck, but then you know the performance cieling is going to be worse as well. The Legion Go just made more sense to me in that regard.
So I've said this before and I'll say it again, games optimized for Windows that work on SteamOS are not "less optimized". Here's why: The games themselves are built on top of a graphics API, and the possible APIs are OpenGL, DirectX, or Vulkan. Where on Windows the games run natively, on SteamOS the games run under Proton. Proton is a lightweight shim and windows-like environment that translates whatever graphics API the game was built for to pure Vulkan calls. The actual overhead in doing this is virtually non-existent, meaning that, on the same hardware, the games will run about the same or better in a proton context as they do in a Windows context (because effectively, they are running much the same way they would be on Windows... just against Vulkan instead of DirectX). Steam also helps reduce any possible stuttering by shipping games with precompiled shaders, where as Windows doesn't do this on its own. If you want a reason to use Windows at all, performance optimization shouldn't be a deciding factor, because it is not an issue on SteamOS. The main thing you really should be thinking about is what games you want to play and if those games run on your device of choice.
just for clarification... Proton handles a lot of typical Windows calls, its forked off Wine. Graphics wise though, it uses dxvk (DX9 - 11) and vkd3d (DX12+) to handle DirectX to Vulkan. Wine uses these libraries as well, but they are technically separate projects and can be used in other software, not just Proton/Wine... Intel even uses dxvk with their Windows drivers on their newer ARC GPUs to handle older DX9-11 titles in Vulkan.
@@AyaWetts this is true. Since all of that stuff is packaged into proton (wine and the translation shims) as the system that handles running the game it's effectively no different from running the game on windows via vulkan. All I'm getting at is that performance really isn't a concern in that context because it is no different from running it natively. The most major limiting factor is heavy handed DRM that won't work in that context.

In a Laptop I have with a RTX 3080 though, that thing is like exactly the same speed. The AMD is just drivers being improved... it wasn't even able to run games in Linux or the few that worked were less than half speed when I first got it early in the year. Hopefully by the time its 1 year old the drivers will run as good as in Windows. I know nvidia has propriety drivers, but I think I still may go back to them next time just for performance difference. It does seem the older RDNA2 in the Steam Deck doesn't have any driver issues though. I'm wondering the difference on something like the Legion Go since its RDNA3 based, and the drivers haven't had as long to develop and mature.

I have personally tried to game on the Steam deck and find the screen size is brilliant for indie games (just like the Switch) but when i try to play AAA TV style games then i fail to see things in the distance. Maybe it is just me getting old.
I personally prefer the Steam Deck, feels more like a hand held than a surface tablet like device. Plus I can't live without Gyro aim and dual touch pads.
Dual-Trackpads + Steam Input/Configuration adds so much to the experience of gaming, which I feel really goes unnoticed/unmentioned by many that cover the device. The usability these things can enable is next level, like playing RTS games which would be unfeasible on other devices because of the limited amount of input options. FPS is one aspect of gaming and the LegionGO wins there, but feeling comfortable playing and interacting with UI, and many more things are much more important to me.
i get the comparison, because both are handhalds, but comparing a 420€ device with a 750€ (without sale its even 800€, almost twice the price of the cheapest steam deck) device is kinda not a fair comparison imho.
You will not be disappointed! At least I don’t think you will be. I just picked up a Legion Go last week. it’s my first step into PC gaming as I’ve been a PlayStation gamer my whole life. I absolutely love it! Setting it up was a little bit difficult on my end just being new to it. But once I got over that It was an incredible experience. I like the large screen the graphics looked great. When you power it off, it turns on very quick. When I got it at Best Buy they have a 15 day return policy so you could always get it. Try it out and if you don’t like it, return it.

That’s what I’m saying!!! I got a ps5 & the oled SD, can it be done of course but why play fps games when it’s better on a console or pc with a bigger screen. I use my SD for story mode games & just gaming on the go, but too each there own.

So now LET'S GOOOO for the 5 reasons why you should buy a Steam Deck over Legion Go - The battery - Specific settings per game - Oled screen colors & HDR is kinda really pretty - Special Steam commands (steam zoom, steam keyboard) - Trackpads with the crazy steam controller customisation. For FPS games I personally think you should do that on a PC with a proper keyboard and mouse and bigger screen. Also "Productivity" is kinda weird on handheld. Even a phone feels better. P.S. Nice video by the way. Sry, I just love to yell that I prefer the Steam Deck haha
@@VADDY1 lol legion go is hideous looking, the steam deck limited edition model is a thing of beauty, I have both and aesthetically the steam deck is nicer.
More for your list; -Steam Deck is like £230 cheaper than the Legion Go, which could buy you like 20-40 games to actually play on the Deck. -Better support for older titles due to compatibility filters that Windows doesn't have. -Better console-like software experience for a more plug and play. -Emudeck for Steam Deck is far further along than it is for Windows.
How’s the battery in ur opinion on legion go. I’m getting one and am curious to hear from a normal person. Also how is the UI and windows as well as performance?
The battery holds up really well but that alao depends on what kind of games you are playing. AAA games i get about 2 hrs and 35 mins of play without being plugged in smaller games i get about 5-6 depending on how much i push it. The UI sucked at first but the update it all the time and each tine it gets better. Windows is just windows i mean could be better could be worse but id rather have it over Linux cause of compatibility issue with atuff on the steamdeck that uses Linux @jsnsnssnnsn
Since I have a very good gaming PC and have around 400-450 games on steam it was really a no brainer. I rarely play non steam games. The steam deck oled is PER-FECT! Windows is great but it’s not meant for small devices like these. The Steam Deck has more going for it than any other handheld PC. It’s more of console really and it’s easy to use. The Steam Deck is like the Iphone of handheld PCs. If I want better performance, more FPS and want to play EVERY GAME, then I would rather buy a gaming laptop and a controller.
Paid games download WAY faster than cracked games and you dont need to reinstall the game for updates. Plus what games are you buying for all of it to cost 700 dollars??
steam os isnt valve's proprietary os, its a linux distro with the steam client that you use being proprietary, so basically the os itself is open source and people have already made it work with non steam deck hardware also you can install windows 10 on your deck so not sure why windows vs steam os is even being discussed
I love my steam deck (og model), but I mostly play AA/AAA games that it either just can’t quite run well enough or doesn’t run at all (like the first descendant). I finally sprung for a legion go on sale and I’m hoping it’s a better fit for my needs. Funny, several months after I can say yes, Lenovo has been pretty open, upfront and helpful with how they are managing the LEG issues. It is quite refreshing how they even engage with the LEG community to solve the most pressing issues, a day and night difference to the shit storm that Asus did with their customer service.
For FPS mode I recently ran across flick stick and the new gyro to mouse mode available on the steam deck and while it does take getting used to it gives you a good balance of fast reaction and precision. Personally I’d rather use that with a handheld device rather than having to put the screen on a table. The OLED deck is great as well. While I didn’t hate the screen before the new screen is a lot better.
Great video, congrats ... I have doubt only regarding to the weight .... is it confortable to play Legion Go for more than an hour without the weight start to shout ?
Thanks for these videos, really help me decide which one to buy for the holidays. Any update on getting Starfield to run better on the Legion Go compared to your previous video?
What people need to really understand is the Legion Go and the ROG Ally X are Windows handhelds. "Well, duh obviously" yes, but what that means is for the most part, you cant just pick it up and play on the go like you can with the Steam Deck. By that I mean, you are constantly having to update Windows, Drivers, Apps etc. to run the device smoothly. This for some people can be a hassle because all you want to do is pick up and play games wherever you go. But say you are on a plane for example and you want to play some games but Windows or AMD suddenly prompts you to update and you cant really play any of your games smoothly or at all until you update, well, you're shit out of luck until you can get some wifi. Thats just one example but I can think of various other edge cases that are just too long to type right now. You never have to deal with that ever on Steam Deck as its more of a console-like experience where you can just pick it up and play immediately. If I am on the go, I dont want to have to deal with Windows bullshit. I just want to play. For me, the Steam Deck is the better choice. But both are very awesome platforms.
For me I am getting a Legion GO mainly because I don't use Steam. I primarily get my games from GOG. I just play single player games. I also love that GOG is a DRM Free platform. This helps greatly when there is no wi-fi. I can put the installers on a external harddrive. So I don't need to use the Galaxy app.
Legion Go has a 2k display, and it is not needed there at all, because the games launched in 720p look terrible, and Legion Go can't run games at good fps with atleast 1080p))
Two words, integer scaling, run the game at 800p and then use RSR or FSR to make a perfect X4 integer scaling to the native resolution of the Legion Go. It is extremely difficult to notice any difference between the 800p with X4 integer scaling vs running natively at 1600p.
I do plan to see how far my Steam Deck can take me, but if I ever have to replace it, this is something to think about...assuming they don't come out with the Legion Go 2 or something by then.
honestly the legion go is superior in every way to the steam deck games play so much better on it but it really is a window pc it’s a laptop with controllers attached a battery pack for on the go gaming is a must like we’re talking 2 hrs of battery on performance mode on a game like monster hunter worlds
Could you please recommend a mount for It? right now I have one in my bed with a Nintendo Switch and I really enjoy It, but I want to do the same when i buy a Lenovo Legion go.
You forgot to tell, you can install Windows like second operation system and play games without any auntie cheat like normal PC , the other side in Lenovo you can't install correct steam operation system for increase the battery life of playing games .
I have tried both. But my reasoning for choosing the SD OLED is: - Cost is 65% of the Legion Go in my country (Sweden) - I value portability and battery a lot, SD wins by a mile - the fan is a lot louder in the Legion - Even though I mostly use headphones, when I don’t the speakers are bad on the Legion. - I’m a PC gamer, but I just enjoy the SD Linux OS a lot better for the usage. I know the Legion is kinda new and updates are coming, but the current software is a big minus. And the last, and maybe the most important: the feeling and handles are feeling better on the SD. The screen on the Legion Go is so beautiful but at this point I rather prefer a gaming laptop with controller.
Awesome video! I recently picked one up but running into an issue where world war z would not detect controller mode and is stuck at mouse and keyboard mode. Wondering how you got yours to work??
on the legion go? i just went around in settings and eventually it worked, not actually sure what i ended up doing that did it. make sure the FPS mode on the mouse is turned off though
@sam.alexander.reviews yup it was turned off, I went as far as re-installing it, unfortunately same issue. Though I will say mine is from epic launcher, not sure if it's any different on other launchers. On other legion groups I'm in someone encountered this similar issue for battlefield 2042. Hopefully this is an isolated issue
Well, considering that the legion go has a 8c/16t processor faster than the Ryzen 7 5800x at 30 watts it´s just mind blowing, that is a full on workstation processor more than capable of doing cgi, renders, video editing and vfx. Only caveat would be cuda cores for some work but you can get a Egpu attacched and voila, nuts!
Been watching videos on all the handhelds out currently and legion go seems to beat them all in every box for me.. Software needs some tuning in terms of legions own mapping and game library etc but everything else is honestly an insane deal! Beautiful handheld screen, detachable controllers if you want to, also still has a track pad and touch screen, oh and egpus on this thing make it even better! This is such a solid device and I can’t wait to get my hands on one!
I think the sheer selling numbers proof you wrong. What is a handheld good for if you need a power cord stripped onto it? It is the same story as with modern gaming laptops. Simple the wrong direction. And the longer PC follows this route the more market share they will lose to apple and steam. These two companies have understood what is going wrong and corrected it. ASUS is also turning the ship already. But with the drag of nvidia its hard to move.
Hi. Thanks for the review. I have some questions: -If not traveling with the "joycons" but a regular Bluetooth joypad (the ones compatible with Pc/Switch/Android you can easily find in Amazon), can you access the Legion Go interface? (the kind of ish dashboard similar to ROG Ally and steamdeck that allow you to make changes in power consumption, settings, etc) I read everywhere that the only way to acces the interface is using the buttons on the joycons but I m not sure... -I also read/heard that the LG can be a bit noisy in high wattage mode, what about low wattage mode? -Does it have. a turbo mode when plugged in, like the Asus ROG? Thanks if you can answer.
Im definitely waiting for the next generation of all of these. It seems like steam deck needs a performance jump but legion needs a better OS so I will let them iron out their problems and buy the next generation
Lenovo looks very promising. But the joycons are very risky on having them be very loose over time, and i actually dont like that. Sure, nintendo Switch has it, but i just hate that i have to take it apart and repair it or replace the parts inside of them.
2024 and Linux still plagued with compatibility issues. Good job valave spending millions on steamos software too only still have compatibility issues.
For me a handheld has to be portable and not like a heavy laptop. The lenovo is big has windows and its unpractical unless you spend most of you time at home, where you might as well use your console or pc.
I do not get this fps mode. just put a bluetooth mouse and keyboard on the ROG. and could even do it in docked mode. But I don't bother I have a high end PC for that. It's just a handheld gaming device. nothing more. You always put the carry case in a rucksack anyway But I have a mini keyboard and mouse gamepad I use with mine which works ok for a handheld peripheral. fits in my jsaux case. and a battery pack and OTG dock adaptor.
I really enjoyed the Legion Go, but ultimately the loud fans, it heating up pretty bad on the back (I have big hands and I touch the tablet part) and it being windows based is what turned me off from it. The biggest and undisputed reason why the Steam Deck will always win over the competitors is software support. We simply don’t know how long will the Go or Ally be supported for, whereas the Steam Deck will be supported indefinitely.
There is no denying that the Steam Deck is a wonderful indie/emulation machine but for me personally the screen size on the Legion Go is a godsend for AAA games! I hope that the Steam deck 2 comes in 2 seperate sizes (original/extra large screen) i would definitely by the extra large screen version.

I have whacked a 2 terabyte drive in it and it's revision 8 so the SD card reader is fine. I just prefer the way ROG ally looks. on the ROG ally when fps drops below 30 like on steamdeck it doesn't feel half as bad. less input lag. No crackling sound.
Problem with the legion go is the terrible cheap feeling hollow controllers. I carry an Xbox controller to use instead. I would carry just the tablet but it’s a pain to change power settings without the included controllers. Wouldn’t be so bad if you could use legion space with Xbox controller.

I just have a hard time trusting the Lenovo brand cause everything I've had from them has been shit quality.
These devices are NOT meant to be used as Laptops/Desktops... I will just say this and stop ;) I will give you just ONE Reason why the Steam Deck is better vs any other handheld: Battery Life! No.4: You did not see the OLED model which is fair ;) But that screen alone is another counter-argument to why you should buy the SD Oled vs literally anything else ;) Looking forward to the OLED display Review ;) No.5: STOP with the PC comparison! Your 200$ Laptop is a lot better than any of these devices for "Productivity" tasks :)) At least you get a dedicated Keyboard/Trackpad and bigger screen to boot so you don't need to use a Microscope to read things ;))

@@buckroger6456 I understand that, tbh a lot of steam deck sold in other countries outside the US were mostly from resellers, not from authorized sellers or from Valve itself, hence the order waiting time. I Love the videos but honestly this one feels like reaching. I get the FPS for sake of performance but built in mouse shouldn't be a point if you're going to game on the go but put it on a table to use a mouse then just get a laptop. if you're going to hook it up to a monitor then get an egpu then it's the same thing just get a laptop because with a monitor this thing and an egpu plus keyboard then it's going cost you at minimum $1200 then you have to take battery into consideration. the only reason for getting this over the steam deck is performance and a bigger display. because if you're going to make the case for a shooter on the go and talk about PC then PC is the only way to so it just leads back to a laptop.
I really wanna see how you'll use a 3-4kg\250w gaming laptop with your hands or how you're bringing it around and use it on trains\flights\etc. What a dumb comparison.

FPS is one aspect of gaming and the LegionGO wins there, but feeling comfortable playing and interacting with UI, and many more things are much more important to me.
The legion go does have gyro. 3 gyros actually as there is one in each controller and one in the center unit.
I fully optimized Windows and getting an average of +12 fps in most games. Got the DPC latency down to 16. Feels so much smoother
And how did you optimize it exactly? I’m looking at getting the GO this week and would love some tips ahead of time. Thanks!
i get the comparison, because both are handhalds, but comparing a 420€ device with a 750€ (without sale its even 800€, almost twice the price of the cheapest steam deck) device is kinda not a fair comparison imho.
I've been weighing the pros and cons of each handheld for a while now. I'm not a PC gamer, so this review was super helpful. I'll be buying a Legion.
glad it helped! yeah i loved the mouse mode on the legion, its a genuinely useful feature (hope it comes to the steam deck 2)
I would never sell my Steam Deck oled, it has something special and feels great in hand. Great emulator device.
Im still torn between the ally and legion go as a second handheld for warzone or world of warcraft. Today i make my descision…
the biggest thing u should look as is how are u gonna use it. if u have a good pc, trust me, u won't be playing as much fps game on the handheld device.
That’s what I’m saying!!! I got a ps5 & the oled SD, can it be done of course but why play fps games when it’s better on a console or pc with a bigger screen. I use my SD for story mode games & just gaming on the go, but too each there own.
@@certified2919 yeah, and watching video or browser the internet will much more comfortable on a phone, u won’t be replace your pc or laptop anyway, so most of the window stuff is pretty usless.
Plus the battery is pretty shitty with all that power so we will never boost it up to it full potential anyway if we aren’t plug it in, so it’s a waste of money if we consider it a handheld gaming device
@@justanormalperson8439this is not true. I have the legion go and watching youtube and videos in general is very enjoyable on the lenovo. If you have a long flight, just put it on the dining table and enjoy, it is visible enough.
If ypu're in bed and lazy, you can easily use lego for watching a movie or playing games

I loved the lenovo legion go and the oled but i could only keep one for now. I was honestly thinking about keeping both but its hard to drop that kinda money. I had extra accessories for the steam deck already from the original and save money there. For my use it works for me at the moment. Ill wait 5-7 months for a deal to drop on the legion go also for the software and drivers to build to a good standard. Might wait even longer for steam deck 2 or legion go 2 ngl.
I also want to wait a bit longer for some type of dock thingy for the bottom of the legion go type c port since i want to see the screen and use both ports at the same time
Great video and all good points! I recently sold my Steam Deck to upgrade to the Legion Go and I am so glad I did because it's just that...an upgrade in almost every way!
Every way except battery right ? I hear Elden ring lasts 3 hours on steam deck and 1 hour on go? Is that true
@@slaygadethicide I haven't specifically marked down times but yeah my DeckOLED I got close to around 2hrs or slightly over & LeGo I get maybe half but also I run EldenRing @ higher settings on it . But yeah I WILL NOT get rid of my OledDeck cause up to 12hrs of battery life & being up to Emulate all way to the Switch for hours is great
@@hazeydaze8396 does the SD oled really emulate to switch easily? i just bought the SD oled but feeling buyers remorse over the Legion GO cos my good friend is buying the LG
So now LET'S GOOOO for the 5 reasons why you should buy a Steam Deck over Legion Go
- The battery
- Specific settings per game
- Oled screen colors & HDR is kinda really pretty
- Special Steam commands (steam zoom, steam keyboard)
- Trackpads with the crazy steam controller customisation.
Steam deck is ugly and won't get compliment even with custom skin. That's a huge red flag. Legion go with custom skin is phenomenal 😍 ✨️
@@VADDY1 lol legion go is hideous looking, the steam deck limited edition model is a thing of beauty, I have both and aesthetically the steam deck is nicer.
Looks u want choose between chocolat and vanilla. Both steam deck and legion go are incredible.
More for your list;
-Steam Deck is like £230 cheaper than the Legion Go, which could buy you like 20-40 games to actually play on the Deck.
-Better support for older titles due to compatibility filters that Windows doesn't have.
-Better console-like software experience for a more plug and play.
-Emudeck for Steam Deck is far further along than it is for Windows.
Steam deck for the win
One reason why you shouldn't buy it is one of the ones why you should buy it, Windows, it just sucks on these small devices.
first honest review I've seen so far about both devices i own both btw
Thanks ❤️
The battery is too small for 30w device with a big ass non-oled screen.
You can always buy a good external battery with a long ahh cable. Problem solved
That cable on top your LeGo is the huge con. Other handheld pc apart from steamdeck always makes me worry about the battery.
There are two USB-C ports on the Legion go, one on top, one below
@@BERSERKERDEMON1 I mean the huge con is the constant need to charge the device.
You can buy a Legion go over any other handheld devices but never a Steam Deck OLED. So I have both of them.

Idk man. I bought a legion go and it just is heavy and bulky

With Legion go I can download any cracked game for free without paying
Bro is playing cracked games when bro can literally afford a 700$ device💀💀
@@vyrn7877
Afford $700 for a device better than wasting $700 on 7 games lol
Paid games download WAY faster than cracked games and you dont need to reinstall the game for updates. Plus what games are you buying for all of it to cost 700 dollars??
I mean, if you want to yes, you can do it, it runs windows after all.
That’s a really big plus point. With steam deck, you are mainly tied to steam store. And it sucks.
steam os isnt valve's proprietary os, its a linux distro with the steam client that you use being proprietary, so basically the os itself is open source and people have already made it work with non steam deck hardware also you can install windows 10 on your deck so not sure why windows vs steam os is even being discussed
I love my steam deck (og model), but I mostly play AA/AAA games that it either just can’t quite run well enough or doesn’t run at all (like the first descendant). I finally sprung for a legion go on sale and I’m hoping it’s a better fit for my needs. I also really like the detachable controllers and kickstand, because that’s one of my favorite things about the switch.
So update? How are you liking the Legion go?
@@buckroger6456 loving it even more now that I’ve gotten used to it and have everything setup. I feel like it’s the experience I wanted from the steam deck and never quite got.
@rsiv5156 I bought a Legion Go two weeks ago and have been in love with it. I get why some people don't like or didn't at first. Honestly having no instructions can hinder most people's start up experience. I use to game a lot on PC so I knew what to expect with having to.get updates and drivers. I wanted a steam deck but just couldn't find one in stock. Went to best buy and seen the Legion Go and read some info about it and decided I was the better one to get for me.
i wonder how do calculate the surface area ? how do you get 60% larger than steam deck ?
i use this site, its an awesome tool! www.displaywars.com/
@@sam.alexander.reviewsaccording to that site the Legion Go screen is ~41% bigger than the Steam Deck screen.
Edit: sorry, you’re right for the LCD Steam Deck. I punched in the dimension for the OLED
The question here is in which resolution you played those games? If you used full resolution on both and it still has 70FPS then perfect, but I see comments where people love bigger screen, but then they play at 800p which looks significantly worse on bigger display
Not with integer scaling enabled at 800p resolution crisp
I came to a conclusion…. Imma just buy both. I already have the Steam deck Oled and I LOVE it. Might as well get a legion Go. I did wanted to see if the new Rogue ally x is worth it. And maybe it is. But if it literally has the same power as a legion go, might as well go all out. Plus I think the Go is cheaper than the X?
A comparable one for steamdeck would be good
Deck: Oled Screen, Battery Life, Operating System, Controls, and Community Mod Support
Ally: Size, Weight, VRR, Landscape Display Compatibility, and Price (other than the proprietary eGPUs just suck for their price to performance)
Below are the more Expensive non-Retailer Options
GPD: Lots of unique Form Factors like PSP or Netbook, incredible eGPU support USB4 or Oculink, More Fast Ram, Full size 2280 NVME support, and stock Hall Sensor Sticks
Ayaneo: Oled Screen, Very Small Device, Ram Size Choice, Multiple Sleek or Gamery Designs, and 2280 NVME Support
Onexplayer: Honestly Very Similar to the Legion go but bigger 65.5wh Battery, More Ram Choice, 2280 NVME Support, Attachable Keyboard, and 100w Charging,
Does Lenovo regularly send out bug fixes/system updates for the Legion go?
It's Lenovo. It gets hardly any required updates, as all their"gaming" hardware does.
Funny, several months after I can say yes, Lenovo has been pretty open, upfront and helpful with how they are managing the LEG issues.
It is quite refreshing how they even engage with the LEG community to solve the most pressing issues, a day and night difference to the shit storm that Asus did with their customer service.
I love that you included Civ in the first 30 seconds of the video. Us Civ players often get left out. Thanks brotha 🤙🏻
No problem 👍
For FPS mode I recently ran across flick stick and the new gyro to mouse mode available on the steam deck and while it does take getting used to it gives you a good balance of fast reaction and precision. Personally I’d rather use that with a handheld device rather than having to put the screen on a table. The OLED deck is great as well. While I didn’t hate the screen before the new screen is a lot better.
yeah they just added that to the ROG Ally too.
Great video, congrats ... I have doubt only regarding to the weight .... is it confortable to play Legion Go for more than an hour without the weight start to shout ?
depend on your forearm and shoulder strength
Picking up my legion go today 🎉
Fair point
It’s not true. Windows 10 was very stable. You can turn off updates.
I love my Legion Go and the best part is that in the future it can change with software updates and 3rd party joy-con designs!
I got my legion go because I can play any games without restriction.
You can play games downloaded from steam all offline.
2 hours is good enough
What’s that top down shooter? It looked awesome. I need it lol
Endless dungeon!
But my reasoning for choosing the SD OLED is:
- Cost is 65% of the Legion Go in my country (Sweden)
- I value portability and battery a lot, SD wins by a mile
- the fan is a lot louder in the Legion
- Even though I mostly use headphones, when I don’t the speakers are bad on the Legion.
Hi, can you answer my question I posted just above?

1 reason why you buy the legion: money
Wow! Nice background music dude!
Glad you like it!
Great video mate
as much as I like my steam deck I prefer my legion go
I think the sheer selling numbers proof you wrong.
Rog ally is awesome too
Same here
It's a matter of perspective, both are very impressive^
Hi. Thanks for the review.
I have some questions:
-If not traveling with the "joycons" but a regular Bluetooth joypad (the ones compatible with Pc/Switch/Android you can easily find in Amazon), can you access the Legion Go interface? (the kind of ish dashboard similar to ROG Ally and steamdeck that allow you to make changes in power consumption, settings, etc)
I read everywhere that the only way to acces the interface is using the buttons on the joycons but I m not sure...
But you can replace it. The Lenovo controllers are detachable. It’s a plus point.
Did he just say “totally optimized for windows?”
What's the game you're playing at 8:45 please? 8:45
2024 and Linux still plagued with compatibility issues. Good job valave spending millions on steamos software too only still have compatibility issues.
For me a handheld has to be portable and not like a heavy laptop. The lenovo is big has windows and its unpractical unless you spend most of you time at home, where you might as well use your console or pc.
does the legion go mouse thing good for left hand users?
Nope.. it’s going to be weird holding it
bummer because me being left handed is like hard for things like that.@@podioforge000
Pls make that video 🙏 I want to see the difference between those two....
I don’t get this at all to be honest. Lenovo has been in business a while for a reason man lol just saying

And than the big bad Ayaneo Kun came and ate both of these 🦈
Problem with the legion go is the terrible cheap feeling hollow controllers. I carry an Xbox controller to use instead. I would carry just the tablet but it’s a pain to change power settings without the included controllers. Wouldn’t be so bad if you could use legion space with Xbox controller.
I'm just curious - what happened to your hands? Looks like you had a bad accident?

@@buckroger6456 I understand that, tbh a lot of steam deck sold in other countries outside the US were mostly from resellers, not from authorized sellers or from Valve itself, hence the order waiting time. The only thing that made me stick to steam deck is it ability to pause game and put it to sleep and wake it up and resume it later when I want to play it right away
Nah im not using that, if i want a bulky windows pc i buy laptop
