its all about exposure. they aren't from an area where people talk about queen. That's like expecting a white kid from wisconsin to know who Wu-tang clan is. They are both extremely popular bands that certain places wouldn't be familiar with.

You don't even need to live in America in order to hear it! These people live online. They produce video content themselves.

Sorry, that's my rant. I just don't think it's fair to point to poor kids who don't have access in their area, and act like that's who we are talking about.

I personally enjoy “music reaction channels.” Especially when it’s regarding a favorite artist of mine or if the artist is extremely underground. It feels since when someone is visibly enjoying the music you cherish so much.

Long rant, but in case any of you folks are sincerely curious. Legit, I didn't know about Queen until I moved out of the Bronx and one of my new white suburban friends was like "Queen is the best!" Then he played some of the most amazing music I'd ever heard! This was in *high school* for me, early 2000s.
I went through the same thing with bands like The Beatles and Pink Floyd. I can't speak for all POC, only my personal experience. My parents had me mad young, and my grandparents are all from Puerto Rico. So, like, my grandparents grew up with Spanish music, and then my parents grew up in the 80s. So *I* grew up listening to Madonna and Michael Jackson and Whitney Houston. I think my parents were aware of rock, but like it wasn't as much their thing as R&B, Hip Hop, and Pop. And my neighborhood didn't have a lot of white families (or much access to cable or the internet, for that matter).
It straight up wasn't until we moved to the boonies of upstate NY that I got into the different kinds of rock. You'd be surprised how isolated the world really was, 2.5 decades ago, before the internet really blew up (especially Napster). It's wild!
Thank you for taking the time to say this! I don't think a lot of white people get that white culture isn't *everyone's* culture. The idea that everyone's listened to and loved Queen just because it's a cornerstone of white music doesn't mean that literally everyone has and does (or gives a shit)
