John Deere 214 Replacing the Solenoid

I replaced the solenoid but I still ended up rigging a new switch to start the mower. I ordered the new fuse/relay but have not put it in yet.

I have a John Deere 214 and had the same issue, i changed the key switch and that was my fix.

The part he was missing was a 12v 25amp Circuit breaker

I like his oversized battery.. I'm going to do that in mine

This thing can sit for a while before I need it and it sits out all winter long. The extra umph in the battery is helpful, I think anyways. Thanks for watching and commenting.

They came with the larger (car size) battery.

It did work. Starts every time now.

What is the part that you didn't order for the soleinoid called

@@kawasaki1017 I don't know te name of the extra part but it was an option that was provided when I ordered the solenoid. I didn't get it at the time so I went back to the website and orderd it. I don't recall the part number but if you wanted it I could probably find it. Thanks, Troy

I don't understand why he needed a separate primary switch, the existing wire from ignition is the primary.

There was an additional part that the ignition switch rant to. Turns out it was bad too so I went around it and put in that additional switch direct to the solenoid. I am not a mechanic as you can see but I am okay at getting things to "work".

I just replaced mine, now I’m getting negative power when I turn the key
