Mine is just like it. It’s a 83, no hydraulic, but have every attachment to it. Very solid tractor, not cheap plastic crap like the new ones. It’s all Deere. Just wish it had power steering.

Is a 212 in decent condition something I should buy when compared to a much newer craftsman style tractor when I can get the newer craftsman for 350 vs the JD around 500 at best. Is it worth the extra money??
How do you adjust the varitor? Tried the loosening the bolt and with variator in 5th position and crank till clutch pedal goes all the way up, now variator doesnt seem to do anything at all?
i have a 212. hopefully someone can help with this problem. used it for like 5 min. it died lol. i go back to start it and it wants to turn over but doesnt. when you turn key off something continues to spin for 15 seconds ish. please help me. no start for me. hope this makes sence thanks in advanced
Your PTO might continue to spin if the engines been running. That's normal, your battery may have just gone dead. Those need battery power in order to run
@@mikestarcher yea its a screeching noise when starting it wants to turn over but doesnt. then when u stop turning it over something still spinning for alittle bit. so i dont know. not a engine guy. thanks though. wish i could post a video here of it

I have a 212, replaced the ampmeter with a voltmeter. So much more useful.

All stock size tires Carlisle super lugs on the rear and the v61 5 ribs on the front

I do it with the various all the way forward if I do it. But normally I just don't ajust it because it normally dosnt work anyway

@billdogg5914 not really, I have loosened the adjustment blot before and gone under with a pry bar to put it where I want it.
