    Hi everyone - just to clarify, at 4:34, NVH is mistakenly referred to as 'Noise, Vibration, and Handling.' The correct term is 'Noise, Vibration, and Harshness' (NVH). Thank you to everyone that pointed this out!

  • @ekyu88
    @ekyu88 3 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

    Very good point, I never thought this way. Tesla cars are incredibly light and strong vehicles and of course when you have an accident, passengers are much safer but it will be more expensive to repair.

    That is by far the best demonstration of why / how Teslas exceed crash standards by orders of magnitude and retain body control that does / will allow suspension optimisation orders of magnitude over rivals. Do not get fooled by the legacy superficial frippery of "panel gaps" when the real deal is structural integrity. 44 years of engineering world wide in big auto Ive some insight into how to do a job right and this is it.

  • @donyakusa9187
    @donyakusa9187 3 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

    Tell the truth, it’s going to be a nightmare to replace a gigacast section of those cars. It’s expensive.

    • @LifeLongLearner-om8jx
      @LifeLongLearner-om8jx 3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Not really. Most insurance companies will total cars these days because it’s cheaper to replace them than it is to fix them. Because by the time a giga-casting needs to be replaced there’s an extremely high probability that there is structural damage. Insurance companies don’t want to deal with issues related to structural integrity as it increases their potential liability.
      Small fender benders aren’t going to impact the casting at all, they’re way under the skin. The exterior panels would just be replaced as usual for minor accidents.

    Tesla will no longer have 5 stars in Euro NCAP because there is new safety condition. As of January 2026, it will require physical buttons for critical functions in order for a tested model to receive a five-star rating. Specifically, it concerns the control of the turn signals, wipers, horn, warning lights and the eCall system.

    • @JRP3

      Tesla has buttons for those functions. They are on the wheel except for emergency flashers which is a separate button. You can map wiper function to the scroll wheel button.
