It's time for another 911 build! After selling the 991, I have been eyeing the market for this modern classic, the 997. Follow along as I embark on one of my most exciting builds yet. I can't wait to dial this car into my specifications and share the journey with everyone.
@nineelevensouth Thanks so much for the great video and feedback. Looking superb and can't wait to see more photos.
Thanks for making a great product!
@@nineelevensouth thank you 🙏
I am still on the waiting list to buy 997 side skirts from emc2design and already purchased both their front lip and rear skirts. It's been a couple months now and still have not received an email.
@@tokesa2753 have you tried reaching out? They are usually great on communication
great build. loving this
thanks! appreciate you watching
Actually about to go the Emc2 route all the way around my 997. Really great concept Gary has come up with!
Awesome. Hope you found the video helpful!
Wow, that's just right. Looks so good!
Thank you!
Car looks great, love those skirts. Fellow 997 Owner here from Atlanta.
Thanks man! Appreciate you watching and appreciate the feedback
Found this channel while looking for more 997 content and once I heard Atlanta, I had to support! Midtown Atlanta 997 enthusiast and now subscriber 😅
@@zohair4658 nice man! Thanks for following. I’m just north of you. Hope to see you out at some events
Wow looks amazing! I can’t wait to buy a 997 great videos!
Thanks man. Appreciate you following the build
Great vid, just bought a 997 & will be looking at adding the aerokit front bumper as mine is peppered with stone chips and scratches!
Awesome! I appreciate you watching. Hope you find the rest of the build series helpful
You promised to post the links in the description, but no links...??
Sorry. I have added them.
01:06 I would do the same as well. However would be tempted to add the smile grill cause it looks so good too!
@@davidsoo it is a good look
Thank you!
Cool seeing you in your garage again. It seems to have held up well. I remember your "garage remodel series". Do I see ramps or something at the entry?
Thanks! Appreciate you watching for so long that you caught that garage series! I'm actually planning to do a video going over everything in that garage build 2 years later - what l love, what I've changed, how everything is holding up, etc. So stay tuned. Yes, those are ramps to help navigate the transition at our garage doors. There is a depressed area for French drains just outside of the doors, so I had some metal ramps custom made locally to bridge the gap. None of the retail rubber "curb ramps" worked and they are so expensive for what they are.
Looks good. The rear splitters were the right call. Rennsport grills look good too. It’s now very low. How flexible is that Aero Kit Front Spoiler? It looks sure to scrape, maybe even in your own driveway. Super nice job on the build!!
Thanks! It's very low and does scrape a little. But this is a common problem with almost all Aerokit or GT3 997s because of the amount of "nose" that is out over the front axle. Makes any kind of steep approach a problem. I just keep a can of SEM trim black handy to touch up the lip every so often!
I have the aero kit on my 997 and have been through tons of different front lips, I’ve bought all of them from eBay junk to stock$$$$, the one that lasts and isn’t too expensive is the factory cup lip from FVD brombacher. If you drive often, the lip is sacrificed about every 4-6 months or until you don’t care as much about looks and drive with scratches. I’ve had my car a long time so I’m used to it. Cheers🍻
@@MrGmilton Ha. Exactly the plan I assumed I would have to adopt.
Love this particular 997. Super clean. Where did you find the taco wing?!
Thanks!
Thanks! The wing actually came on the car from the previous owner. Good thing too, bc they are hard to find.
Looks awesome!
Thanks!
Love the wheels..which one’s are they? Thx in advance and enjoy!
Thanks! BBS CH-Rs custom finished in Weissgold
@@nineelevensouth Beautiful finish! Goes so well with the green.
@@hansfranz9914 thanks!
Looking great, are we going to see some more light gold accents, to link into the wheels…?
Thanks. I'm thinking about a small decal (6 in or less) along the side just behind the front wheel. Still on the fence though.
@@nineelevensouth That sounds good, maybe those mesh front grilles as well..!
I want one 😍😍😍😍
@@jamhot8243 doooo it!
Nice 👌🏾❤️👌🏾
Thanks
Any updates on the cayenne like the steering wheel long term review and future mods?
The steering wheel install video is up on the channel. No additional modifications planned for now but I might do an overview video on the build soon.
So sick...What coilovers your running? is this .1 or .2?
Thanks! No coilovers, just factory PASM. It's a .1 - 2005 launch edition. That's why the car has the PCCBs :)
@@nineelevensouth it looks like it is sitting lower. How did you achieve the stance?
@@Goelmoel the PASM option lowers the car from the factory. Also used wheel spacers to bring the faces out flush with the fenders.
@@nineelevensouth thank you for the quick responses. I’m closing on 06 C4S but I for believe it has PASM, just sport chrono, Bose and PSM. Love your channel btw, getting a lot of inspiration to build out.
@nineelevensouth curious why you went S vs 4S?
Three main reasons: 1. Price 2. I live in GA so no need to the winter traction 3. All 4 of my 911s have been 2 vs 4 so I’m used to how to drive that setup through the corners.
👌🏻
🙏
Any idea if these would fit a 987 Cayman?
No idea, but I doubt it.
@perrytaylor8240 unfortunately not. Porsche does a very good job of making every model with very different geometry, even though to the naked eye certain areas may look very similar.
@@emc2design421 I figured, if you ever need a car, I’m down the road(ok 4 hrs down the road) in Savannah.
